  • Again as I wrote in another forum, It's hard to fathom the dramatic/heroic Dimitrova singing this lyrical piece with such heart-rending delicacy.

  • @mannail888 It's not hard to fathom it at all. First, Amelia is written for a dramatic soprano. Second, dramatic sopranos MUST sing delicately, in the sense of absolutely not pushing, otherwise, they will lose their voice. They just sound more voluminous and more tragic due to the size of the voice. Technique of singing is as delicate as those of lyric sopranos, even more delicate, insofar as dramatic roles REQUIRE big tone, which again, MUST be delivered without pushing, which is not easy.
