Any tips on increasing milk supply. I have enough to feed my son and then express maybe an ounce afterwards. I want to be able to at least keep a supply in the freezer so my husband and I can go out every once and awhile. lol
This is amazing of you to do. I didn't even know they had things like this. Ill keep this in mind in the future and good job about putting the word out there.
Hi im a nurse student from australia and i've been watching your videos. I think this "wet nursing" (donating milk) is a lovely thing to do! well done Lucy thats awesome! :-)
Way to go Lucy!! I love watching your videos!! You are a model mother if there ever was one!! You have no ideal how helpful these videos are to people. Not only do you give mothers or moms to be ideals, but you give product reviews as well as business reviews, and now milk donation! Incredible!!
I would like to say I am sorry for the ignorant comments that people post on here in regards to your videos. It is really uncalled for. What the hell is wrong with people?!?!
Holy Cow you produced a lot of milk!!! Great job do you have any tips to producing that much??? I actually froze a lot of mine for my daughter to have in bottles when we were away from home!!!
Wow Lucky you!!!! i have a 5 month old and my milk was never enough for him i didnt have a bump wich i regret now. im still breast feeding him but i always have to give him formula like 4 to 6 onz. and he has acid reflux, i wonder if it is cuz of the formula (idk) how much water are you drinking?????
your daughter is SOOOO cute!!!!!!
are you going to make monthly montage of your son?he is soooo cute too : )
I think that donating milk is awesome !!! you are such a great person : )
I have a question...you said that you have to promise to donate 100oz's. what happens if you cannot for whatever reason fulfill that obligation? Do you have to pay for the supplies that they give you? Will they not accept under 100oz per person?
That is great!! I wasnt able to produce milk and imagine I wont be able to with this pregnancy but what a great gesture! PS: Jacelyn has sooo much hair! I have a 4 yr old and shes not even close! LOL
i found out about this a while ago when thinking about how some mothers need it and cannot wait to be a doner when i have another baby.... u r awsome putting this info out there for others!
How do you get so much milk? For both of my kids i always had like "just" enough?! I mean it would feed them fine but if i tried to pump after, i would only get like an ounce! If you have any tips on how to get more milk, or up the supply or anything that would be great, maybe i could get more next time! lol
I read the same article in a peoples magazine. I just wish that i made enough milk to save for my own child. I am lucky enough to get an ounce a day to pump out. I dont know how to increase my milk supply.
You're doing such a great thing Lucy, you should feel very proud of yourself! Also Jacelyn is looking soooo adorable, she is definately gonna have the boys after her when she grows up!x
Wow that's very cool of you to do that. I just read an artical in People about a man who's wife died either in childbirth or very shortly after (can't remember) and he has like 10 or 12 ladies come into his house and nurse his baby. Very cool thing to do, they are going to test the baby later on to see if since he is getting immunities from all these different people if he will be far less likely to ever need any "shots"!
By the way Jace is BEAUTIFUL. Joel's got it coming!! LOL!!!
I would love to that I guess i'll have to wait and see if I can when I have a baby. Would you give your child breast milk from other people if you couldn't breast feed?
I jsut wanted to spread the word to people who don't know, Australia is making homebirthing illegal as of 1 July next year. If you are passionate, PLEASE sign one fo the online petitions
Its not illegal to homebirth in Australia, no one can force you to go to hospital to have your baby but government regulations have made it impossible for a midwife to attend a homebirth and be covered or indemnified legally if anything should go wrong.
So basically, no midwife in his/her right mind would attend a homebirth in Australia because if something went wrong during the birth, the midwife would be personally liable.
no, you are right, it is only midwife attended homebirth that is affected, freebirth is an option, often not the optimal one but one that lots of women will be considering.
Nope it was just overnight it seemed, she all of a sudden took on this "toddler" look. Sad thing is, she's not even 1 1/2 yet!!!! Every time some goes to comment on her in public they guess her age, and usually say 2 1/3-3 yrs old, and of course my jaw drops, like what?!?! no way! She's only 1!!! She just turned 17 months old this week, and I can't believe how fast time has passed us by it seems like.
What doesn't help is the fact she not only looks like a 2 yr old but behaves like one and is the SIZE of one! I feel so cheated of my "baby" time with her, she grew up too quickly!
Joel & I both agree'd we will not push Kacen to reach milestones early, but will simply just let him figure things out for his own. I never want him to grow up 'too fast'.
I remeber the same thing happened with my sister! One morning she woke up and didn´t look like ababy anymore! Now she is five and people usually guess her to be 6 or 7! But that feels different for a mom I guess!
It really is amazing how quickly tzhey grow up! In the videos about your babyshower she still looked like a baby!
But even thjough she grew up, she still is sooooo cute!
wow jace is getting big shes super cute and rissamissa1 ur an idiot for thinking its gross its a beautiful thing that lucy is doing and ur just plain stupid grow up
donating breast milk is not 'gross'. it's an amazing gift and very selfless of Lucy to do. if unsubscribing is all you can do to protest then let it be.
That is not gross at all! There are many babies that breastmilk can benefit. It is much better for preemies and sick babies to get breastmilk because of the antibioties which makes their immune system stronger, antibiodies formula does not have. Some babies don't recieve their mothers for some reason, and people like lucy are so kind and wonderful to take their time to do this. you obviously don't know anything about it. You're just rude and ignorant.
The World Health Organization recommends that babies be fed, in order of preference: 1) at the breast, 2) via expressed breastmilk, 3) with pasteurized, screened, donor breastmilk from an accredited human milk bank, and as a last resort, with 4) artificial baby milk, or infant formula.
Hey Lucy i thought u saID u had more videos u have already done and havent uploaded them r u going to i know ur busy lol well pl try to get back to me lol

i had such a problem with production i wasn't able to only bf i had to supplement :( I think its great that you are helping out other mothers that arnt able to supply milk. thanks for the info!
That is so sweet of you to do! DD is 6 months so my supply is pretty in demand with what she needs. I will think about it, because it isn't to hard to up my supply.
You are such a good person for donating all of that. I had personally never heard of women being able to donate their breastmilk until you made this video. So I thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention so hopefully many other women will donate as well. There's so many babies that need it!
Lucy, are you eating anything specific that's helping to increase your milk supply? How many ounces are you able to pump in each session? It's so kind of you to donate :)

On a funny and cute note, if a man does that he can also lactate allowing shared feeds between mom and dad.

Lucy, Jacelyn is absolutely divine - I'm loving the ponytail (is that what you call them in US?)
Did you have any problems donating given you're both tattooed? I'm not judging, simply curious as to why this was part of the screening.
I think its a fantastic thing you're doing. Think of all those little babies benefitting from your generosity!
