Listen to this before you get a dog!!!!! I got a border collie specifically because he was red all over and didn't even give any of the other puppy's a chance. It took me a year of training and 2 hours exercise every day to turn him into a nice dog. But I watched this and took the steps mentioned in this video when I picked up my great dane and He's perfect. I have had him for 8 months now and he is so lazy (which fits me) and he hasn't done a singe naughty thing yet unlike my collie.

I don't really agree with the whole, if you pick the dog up and it wiggles or not you know if it's gonna be active. Obviously they're gonna be happy and excited to be held and wiggle anyway and may settle down once they have a family and a home, I'd consider most dogs to be active they all need to be walked and played with and loved :) <3

i just wanted to share my experience with those tests of a dogs personality:

My dog seemed to be very shy and needy by the moment i picked her, she would even let me held her and turn her on her belly, but after a few days she became a lot more confident and is now a very independent dog.

The thing is, you need to do these tests more than once and sometimes you can't spend time with all the puppies in the litter before choosing yours.

They come in 3 sizes don't need too much land but definitely like to play around and stretch in the yard every once in a while. They are perfect for children! they're very gentle and are the 2nd smartest dog so it will be a breeze to train. and shedding? NOPE! never ever sheds and dander will never appear! Perfect for people with allergies!

You have to analyze the puppies individually and determine which one best suits your lifestyle and your plans for you dog.

ALL shelters have to pick the right home for each pet, unfortunately not all shelters do this and thend to get rid of dogs quickly and will just quickly match a dog. What people fail to do is pick the dog suited for their lifestyle and this is one of the main reasons why dogs actually end up in shelters or just wound up being out of control dogs that people don't decide to train. It's all too familiar...

@TheDanishDragon hehe im not against getting puppies at all, i love all dogs different ages and sizes just didnt like the idea that this video was portraying that you should go for a puppy automatically. but bless anyone who adopts :) but just hope no one forgets about the older ones, they need love too especially in shelters. my hubby has had many dogs over the passed 30 years, only one he got as a puppy. all the rest were adults hehe

@Lilaclps personally i would listen to them.. its with attitude like that is the reason why so many animals get put down because people think its about how long you are with them and not the quality. ive never spent a dime at a pet store and its kept me from a clear concious :) but its a persona lchioce in the end as long as a life is taken in. <3 have fun trying to find a new partner
