@GallusSapien I get that sometimes, but surprisingly infrequently (from creationists - which is what I assume you're referring to). They tend to leave this stuff alone for the most part. I think it's because the amount of propaganda on creation websites dealing with evolutionary algorithms is far far less than the amount dealing with biology, geology, cosmology, etc.

2 things:
1. Did you set the parameters to have a small maximum part count, or did it just happen?
2. How did you change the ground texture? I just have a dirt texture.

1. To some extent it was a result of selection pressure. Fitness was distance traveled divided by a measure of body size (smaller body for same distance = higher fitness). However, most of my creature videos show creatures evolved with that same scheme, so this is exceptionally small.
2. Hunt for the "textures" folder. You can replace any file in there with any image you want as longs as: same file name, image size, and format.

I've seen some random creatures that small but I never would have thought that would become the predominate creature.
I'm still tinkering with the water constants and I think I've figured out a few options, but I'm still testing them.
I'm going to be making a video with speed recommendations for this program.
I have a old computer like you but I've gotten the fps up to 1000! But only with simply creatures. more complex ones make it lag more.
