Don't you just love how every adaptation of a video gaming heading for the big screens that people would actually care to go and see are cancelled? Bioshock could have been a great film had it been taken seriously and given the attention a movie of this kind deserves. It being a book first would even allow the directors to take a different approach to the setting of the film. For example it could have shown how the city was driven into chaos instead of following a single protagonist. Its a shame

After discovering that Breaking Dawn Part 1 has come out in theaters, I've begun to question Hollywood's intelligence. Why do they gamble with the unlikely chance that the movies will be popular if they make a complete movie saga despite the negative reviews of the previous films? It's ironic that they don't instead spend money to make a movie of a game so popular that the film would be incredibly popular IF DONE RIGHT. Maybe they ENJOY making terrible movies.

This is by far the best fake BioShock movie trailer. Especially at the parts where there are recognizable places from the actual game like 1:49 could easily be Neptune's Bounty and 2:06 - 2:08 could be Arcadia. Great work overall.

One neat thing is that Ken Levine is trying to setup a Bioshock movie. It was revealed in a GameInformer issue that he's talking to this one director and he's trying to setup up some boundaries and keep it in the real Bioshock fashion. Even more just trying to keep it Bioshock itself than what Hollywood would usually do to some video games like oh say The Mario Bros, lol. Anycase cannot wait to see what surfaces and if not than don't think there's any lie on upcoming Infinite is there? ^o^

Actually, the reason the film is currently on ice is because the producer (Gore Verbenski) refused to "water it down" with a PG-13 rating; he specifically stated it would be a hard R film, as he mentioned that the subject matter of Bioshock--death, drugs, gore--is not something that should be left out. Due to this and the money filming would require, the project is on hold--but he mentioned that making it 3D might help draw in crowds, so it's still a possible release. :)
