Everyone thinks that Eli is bling and has hightened senses. While this is completely true, it doesn't seem to me that many people are getting a huge point from the film. The Most High is on his side and is guiding & protecting him through everything. You must begin to look at the film with this mindset, because then it will make you understand everything you see in the film more clearly. Reading the Bible will also help.
@ 1:18-1:38, I am very impressed that you caught on to this part of the film. The Hughes Bros did a fantastic job filming this scene (as well as the entire movie). I feel that you cut the scene off on here a little too short. Should have shown when he circles back around the cart and bumps the can again. This scene also shows how he leaves the water for the woman, instead of taking it. Christ-like!!
ididnt kn it had so many hints the only reason i knew he was blind the first time i watched the movie is cause he read braille thats the only reason that made think he is blind .....but thx alot for the rest hints i thank u with all my gratitude
@cybosh234 This video doesn't even have all the hints that are in the film. This video does show a few really good hints, but again, it doesn't show all the hints contained in the movie.
Apparently he uses binoculars in the movie.. so hes not blind? and also, at the start when he looks in that house and opens the doors to find a guy hanging and he flips out....
@imortalryan Fist he never used any binoculars at all. Second if you watch closely when he finds the dead guy he's startled because the door fell on him.
@imortalryan He isn't startled by the body hanging in front of him. He's startled by the door falling off the hinges when he pulls it open. Then he chuckles at himself, then sniffs the air and realizes a dead body is in front of him. Then we see him reach out slowly to feel the body, feels down the leg slowly until he feels the shoelaces, at which point he quickly begins to untie the laces.
:27 not looking through the shelves feeling them. :48 doesn't see the low battery charge. :56 he smells them. 1:01 he turns towards the sound. 1:15 he asks were the water is. 1:44 he feels the flame on the lighter. 2:00 he feels her hand coming towards him. 2:07 he hears before he fires. 2:48 hears before firing. 3:05 doesn't read the sign. 3:11 kicks the step before going up. 3:28 didn't see the sign. 3:30 the final reveal. The close up. Good work on this clip showing the proofs.
@somnys Notice he's crouching and takes a good 3 seconds just listening to the bird's sound as a preperation, what he should've been doing if he had eye sight was to look at it in order to calculate it's course!
Thats really interesting, I agree with the presented evidence. I never picked up on that aspect (could be a I just didn't care as much as the fact a Bible is the center piece kinda turned me off to the entire film). I figured he was just extremely cautious and precise. I dunno if this makes me like the movie more or less, but its interesting.
"doesn't tap that" <-- best evidence. No but seriously, I don't know if they were actually hinting that, but it makes the whole movie less credible. I think the movie is fine without him being blind.
@goodnamestaken My view is different, the movie seemed less credible to me untill it was revealed that Eli was blind, untill then it was no different than any other post-apocalyptic movie I've seen.
Gary Whitta, the guy who wrote the movie said Eli was definantly blind and they were trying to hint that throughout the movie.
i would like to be the first to comment and say that i completely agree, i think he was blind or he was atleast losing his vision throughout the course of the movie.
pretty sure he's blind, because he didn't fucked mila kunis. poor guy. :(

This is awesome..thanks! I haven't realised that he was blind...it was so gripping that I could not manage to find out! :)

Before he kicks the step, if you turn up your volume you can hear clicking sounds. That's Eli using echo-location to "see" what is ahead of him
