There is a little mistake... when tensioning the belt of the vertical cylinder, you put the piston at the Top End but during the overlap! In that posizion the cams are pushed by the spring of the closing arms and so, the reading of the tensioning frequency is wrong...
@DUCASBK I think you are missing when I turned the engine back 90 degrees so that the vertical cylinder is at TDC (fire) and the cams are not trying to open a valve.
Correct, though, that you do not want to set vertical belt tension this method with "the dots lined up", which is where the horizontal cylinder is at TDC fire.
@cacycleworksdotcom OK, you turn the engine 90 deg., but if you wont to have the TDC (fire) position from the TDC (fire) position of the horizontal cylinder, you must turn the engine 270 deg! Look at 8:45, the "T" on the cams are not reversed... when the are reversed, you have the TDC (fire) position ;-)
@cbrgigi Fluorescent lights fill the room with 60hz hum and FR energy. The microphone hears the 60 hz and the wires of microphone act as antenna and transmit the 60hz to the computer. This is best done in a quiet garage without electrical devices powered on. This is impossible in our shop, as we have two 3 phase 200 amp service mains for our space!
I used this procedure in the garage at home and it is much more clear there.
What's the idea of rotating the engine backwards 90 deg? What's the other method without the crankshaft turning tool? I remember putting the bike in gear and using the rear wheel.
@UnivoxMax : With the timing sprockets' dots lined up, the forward/horizontal cylinder is at TDC. Moving back 90deg puts rear/vert cylinder at TDC. This removes the tension from the cam affecting belt tension. Yes, turning wheel is alternative to the crank tool. Thanks!

ok..thank you..I don't understand why the display on your pc always shows 60hz to fix belt..it should be 99hz..is it right????

I think I've watched this set of video almost 10 times. It's intimidating trying to read the right tension!
