Ah, so i see you managed to catch something on the bridge, great work Jamie. This bridge has always been something ive wanted to shoot but cant find a good area to wait, i really need to give it a try sometime though. From the looks of it you were standing in the Apartment complex right? Will they let you park there? im thinking parking somewhere and then walking up the sidewalk would give a better view. Since i live in Athens i really shouldnt be the one asking these questions but oh well :P
i was in the parking lot of that business that is right on the corner almost under the bridge. that is a great bridge but it is really hard to find a good angle. the apartment complex would be perfect-i have checked it out but figured i would get towed. let me know if you ever try it out.
Oh ok, thats where i have parked the few times ive railfanned there. not the best spot as the trees really get in the way. im thinking the best place would be to stand on top of the old wooden CofG trestle but i cant see that working out too well for some reason LOL. across the street on the greenway train may work though no parking there, next time im out railfanning ill try and hit this spot.
on the other side of the trestle from where i was (by the gas station on mlk blvd.) i think you can actually shoot just about the entire trestle from a decent distance. however, looks like most of the day the sun would be bad. i also want to figure out how to get to the bridge over the middle oconee and see if you can hike down to the river- looks like a great setup on google earth.
thanks! that is a really great bridge; what you see is only about 1/3 of it. however there are so many wires & poles around it is really hard to find a good spot to get it all. the other side would be better but then you have the sun to deal with.
thanks! i am going to get a polarizing filter for the camera so i can avoid the funky reflections that i got on this one. i had the angle to the sun just right, but the angle of the tracks caused the sun to reflect back right at me!

Great video. I am subscribing. What type of camcorder do you use, because it gives great quality even on YouTube???
