its nice not seeing the WWF logo censored, even if its the old one. But I think that just the 1998-2002 Attitude Era scratch logo definitely has to be censored in DVDs and such because of you know what.
@BAMDUNN92 austin won but via cheating, they had a final 4 match the following month which taker won as austin cost bret that match too. hence austin v bret and taker v sid
@dsgbmatt Actually Bret Hart won that final four match to win the title Shawn Michaels had vacated. Hart last eliminated the Undertaker with a clothesline over the ropes. Hart would lose the title the next day however to Psycho Sid after Steve Austin interfered in their match. Since Undertaker was the runner-up in the final four match, he was then declared the number one contender since Hart had just lost.
@DanielArouchian McMahon was mocking Kevin Nash and Scott Hall by reintroducing their former characters as phonies. This was right after both of them had skipped over to WCW. It was supposed to be obvious to the audience that they were not the original Diesel and Razor.
I've always wondered if this was a prelude to the Montreal Screwjob. After the match you notice Bret Hart swearing profusely and specifically yelling towards McMahon who (unbeknownst to the public at that time) was in charge of the WWF. I wonder if Vince actually screwed him twice that year, because at the beginning of 1997, Hart was already in talks with WCW.

Austin was amazing in this rumble, just amazing. Bret pissed me off walking down after Austins been through competitor upon competitor and Bret acts like some tough guy....
Oh man, this is my favorite RR PPV. Great performance by Austin, it was so bad ass seeing this heel stone cold being disrespectful and fearless, loved it. No cheer when he walked in but a sweet pop when he won the rumble, the crowd respected him.
@shade0045 Every thing Austin did in this Rumble was great. His facial expression when Jake "The Snake" Roberts comes out, is priceless. Add to the fact that he gets on his knees and starts praying. It was funny back then, it's still funny now. Especially when you look on the video screen, at him throwing the snake. It's kind of a blink-and-miss moment.
why do alot of people (storyline and legitimate wise) say that Bret Hart was the True winner..when Vader, Undertaker, and "Diesel" were still in the match, after Austin was "eliminated"..so technically Bret is not the "True" winner...
@garryOBJ The Alamodome here in San Antonio, TX, which they rarely use anymore. I think they are using it for the new UT San Antonio football team home games now--that's about it.
The arenas that the WWF toured back in the day make the WWE of today look like the top Indy promotion. But still a Indy promotion.
I forgot Mil Mascaras was there. I HAVE seen him live. I told a friend I never seen him at a live event before but I totally forgot about his Rumble appearance. Sad to see some of the wrestlers who have died over the years that participated in this Rumble match.
Me and my grandfather went to this Rumble and had great seats. Floor about 8th row.
@TheDamienChaos from what i just read, it was for 2 reasons, to mock hall and nash's leaving and to flip Good Ole JR into a heel. funny i don't remember JR acting like a heel.
@ialwaysgetkicked1 He acted heel when Razor debuted and a lil while after. He would cut off Mr. McMahon or Lawler and make snide comments. It didn't last long, because the fans couldn't buy into it.
I think Jim Ross got Owen mistaken for Bret when he said Owen whines about every thing, if I recall and I do, Bret is the whining crying one of the two, and in my opinion Owen was by far a better Wrestler than his brother Bret, Owen should of held the WWF Championship at least 3 times.
@Metal1998 an just the year before this Kevin Nash as Diesel and Kane as Dr. Yankem was in the ring at the same time trying to put out the same person.
14 years later HHH and Mil Mascaras will be in the ring together again. But this time HHH is the "COO" and he's publicly inviting Mil Mascaras to join the Hall of Fame.
50:55 WOW....look at all the stars in the ring....Taker, Austin, Rock, Foley, Nash, Vader, Hart, Funk..........one of my top few fav Rumbles of all time
@ialwaysgetkicked1 No that's not Vinny Vegas, Oz was gone by this time, Kevin Nash was in WCW as part of the NWO this year, That was Unabomb who was Doomsday who went to school to become a Dentist named Yankem and on one Christmas Night became a Christmas Creature who's Dad knocked boots with a Woman to have a baby named Kane who use to be the fake Diesel, something like that.... LMAO HAAAAAA
That's not Diesel, its Kane.Pay attention to Diesel,He uses the same movements as Kane does now a days. His uppercuts his high leg kick and even his face. And even worse this is just one year before Kane's debut.''!!!!That's got to be Kane!!!!! ''!!!!!That's got to be Kane!!!'
@joeltorresify YOU ARE CORRECT!!! By this time, Diesel and Razor Ramon went to WCW and became Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Kane was Diesel, IDK who was supposed to be Scott Hall, but you see he got booed and didn't last long LOL.

I remember watching this PPV with friends when it first aired back in 97, and we had a HOOT.
Great performance by Stone Cold, as a fan of the heels, he was already becoming a fave of mine.
Owen Hart (RIP) was always entertaining, and him tossing the bulldog & claiming accident was LOL.
King's 'appearance' had all of us in stitches.
Obviously, the WWF was a lot higher on 'fake Diesel' than 'fake Razer', obviously. He was my 'dark horse' pick to win.
WWF really began to pick up steam here.
