  • I just started listening to Dylan not too long ago, and I regret not discovering him earlier. Him and John Lennon, two of the best musicians that have ever lived. I wish I could have been around in the sixties. Rock on Dylan fans!

  • You're right, Morbo. This isn't the version on the "Bootleg Series".

  • @Maquiladora95: Hmmm... my bad! *blushes* Sources I had were wrong then. I don't own the disc, so I don't have it to compare to this one. Interesting, I'll have to look into it further, thanks for bringing this to my attention! I just know since coming across this song I've loved it dearly ever since, and yt didn't have the full version so I posted it...

  • I have that album, but the version is shorter.

This song is longer than the song on the disc.

On the album, that I have, the song is different.

In the album (Bootleg Series Volumes 1-3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961-1991) is this song?

    Sorry for my english. Thanks

  • Also, this song is beautiful. Especially the part about people learning to die rather than live.

  • God, minority groups have so many more rights now and so many less people are starving and we're actually trying to save our environment now but the music SUCKS so we should all just go back to when there was more violence and blatant hatred because the MUSIC was better. For fuck's sake people, live a little. I think Dylan would agree, even just based on the song Hurricane. Sorry for ranting, I am becoming a cat. I mean a human. Or something. Bye.

  • What year did he record this?

  • @EricDavidFloyd: Recorded April 25, 1962 Columbia Studio, Studio A. It says it in the description. ;)

  • stoned and loving this song :P

  • one of my all time favs music with content

  • Beutiful song!!

  • A classic song!!

  • this is a masterpiece - don't let it get lost in history, pass it on.

  • Fantastic track, i love it, i am 61 years old and this is the first time i have heard it, i cant stop playing it.

This for me is definitely an all time Dylan Classic, thanks for posting it, may take this opportunity to wish you a very merry Christmas and happy new year. Cheers DG.

666? Old Nicks number?????? Surely not. :-) LOL

  • @BINGLEBOG1 You are so lucky that you lived when music had meaning.

  • @JackBurrows231 Dont feel down about it,enjoy the music we're lucky because we have such a vast catalogue to look back on and enjoy.I dont feel music today is bad I just dont choose to listen to recently released music.GOOD MUSIC is timeless.

  • @DAFUNK213 Yeah that's very true it's just a shame you know. I will never be there

  • @JackBurrows231: There's still music today that has meaning, you just have to know where to look. Most of it isn't played on the radio let's just say that. lol You'd be surprised how many genres have underground musicians that have a lot to say that is important to hear. Try Immortal Technique (underground hip-hop/rap) or Otep (heavy metal, especially the album ATAVIST) for instance...

  • Thanks for this. :D

  • Its cool that u did this in memory of your uncle. FIRST COMMENT BTW lol

  • @mrshasty321: Thank you! It sums up his attitude about life pretty well! ;)
