  • meeeh...it really does down hill after 1:42

  • This was my gateway into boogie woogie. From here It was a short trip to Wikipedia, where I looked up boogie woogie and learned about A. Ammons, P. Johnson, and M.L Lewis. Then I went to Amazon, typed in their names, selected MP3 Downloads, and then sorted the list by popularity. Right now Im going down each list and looking up the song titles on Utube before I buy.

And whenever I strike gold, instead of typing "this videogame brought me here" I type

    "I brought myself here. BITCH!"

  • 2 wourds....THE BEST

  • My jaws, can I have them back??

I just dropped them of the epicness...

  • I could listen to this all damn day. :)

  • Like this? It's great! Check out "Vince The Prince" (here)

  • 109 people don.t have a clue what good music is.

  • Holy shit.... Wow

  • OMG Where can I get the piano music sheet for this? :D

  • BieOEtiefull

  • didn`t know Tony Soprano knew how to boogie

  • I was just watching him play...My reaction was "Oh shit"....

  • (sigh …) You wrote that Johan Blohm thanked the audience - in Swedish ; well, we can thank him too, and warmly : best boogie-woogie, best performance, a too short piece of pianistic splendour …

(uh, knowing that three fourth of English vocabulary come from French, Latin, Greek, you could have understood by yourself 8-))

  • If you like this, you will also like Martin Schmitt doing "Too Fat to Boogie" - also on youtube.

  • i play the guitar myself but if i could make a wish , i would wish i was a piano player with only a tiny bit of johan's talent. I always wonder why somebody with those skills is not famous around the globe instead of justin bieber or lady gaga , it's not fair. i don't speak for myself by the way , i'm only an amateur but for somebody talented as johan blohm i can imagine it's frustrating sometimes , and there are many other great musicians nobody knows about

  • This is the best Boogie Woogie

  • Feet must move

  • he called the bald guy a cocksoycker at the end lol

  • @cletus104 Ah, not really... he said "tack så mycket" which is Swedish for "thank you very much"...

  • @widdyhabb eh bien, c'est ce que nous pouvons dire aussi à Johan Blohm, non ? Meilleur BW, meilleure interprétation, un morceau trop bref de pure splendeur pianistique …

  • @5915961T If I knew what you're saying I would answer...

  • Brilliant

  • I'm jealous of both his skill and his big, thick.. hands.

  • this guy is awesome!!!!

  • YEAH..... excellent young fella, i love this many thanx geezer.:)

  • Tommy Johnson is the boogieman but this young kid could be an worthy ancestor....

    And so said Baine Bloodhoof...

  • He's the MOZART of the Boogie Woogie

    LONG LIVE TO HIM !

  • 1:12 onwards watch the chick clip over haha

  • tax likker : oh my non religious god : if i could play like himmmmm : it;s that left hand x

  • i only come here when i have made a mistake

  • beautiful to look at if a person can something well ...

  • Great stuff. It sounds very tightly played.

I don't know about you but the baldy who wanders up to have a close gawp gets right up my nose.

    Regards

  • @sweedlepipe He is the guitarist/singer of the band

  • @sweedlepipe oh thats funny . .

  • @sweedlepipe I agree. The wandering balding is rather "off-putting!!"

  • ça déchiiiiiirrreeee!!!!!

  • How could you NOT like this? Even if you don't like the style, the man's got talent!

  • Esto es muy bueno...

  • 103 people that dislike this have a tin ear.

  • Crazy !!!

  • God given talent.

  • AMAZING!

  • ноты скинь

  • норм

  • Simply AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Johan är störst på YouTube (boogie-avdelningen) nu! över 4,1 miljoner visningar!

  • Chubbier guys are always better at piano.

  • @eyg24 they maybe are getting chubbier because they just sit at the piano all day 8-)

  • one word - fantastic

  • The best, great piano playing.

  • @zugrath16 says, " I could list hundreds of pianists that could do this." Oh really? I'd bet you can't name 2 other Boogie Woogie piano players in this league.

The dynamic? The creativity? This is Boogie Woogie we're talking about. If you don't get it, or like it, that's fine. But, it sounds like you don't understand it either.

In any music hall I've ever been in, you would see people "out of their seats and tapping their feets" to this. And that makes him a musician in my book.

  • wait let me get a towl there is a red dot on the like bar !!

  • dats pinetops boogie

  • As a pianist myself... I actually dislike this.

Sure, this guy's got some great technique and the solos aren't totally random, but it's so unoriginal! Those three chords have been use over and over and over and over again for many decades now. I could list hundreds of pianists that could do this. Where is the feeling for dynamic? Where is the creativity?

If you wan't to hear a real musician with great feeling - look up Allen Stone! Youtube it and look at the top result.

  • @zugrath16 Im a pianist too. if it sounds great, and people can play it, then why not have them play it. Every single pianist can put their own twists and effects on it, therefore make it original.

  • @zugrath16 It may really sound strange that rock'n roll is mostly about those three chords but the job's on you to make them sound special. I've been listening to this guy's band for over 2 years now and not even once found his style overused. If you can fill every song with such a skill and feel you're the man. He's got great dynamic, ideas and does some outstanding improvisation. If you're looking for something different it's ok, but this is and will always be the real boogie woogie.

  • @zugrath16 Well you would dislike it being a pianist yourself but please consider the vast majority of the 4 million hits have been viewed by people seeking entertainment.

I have viewed this many times and still find it very impressive, and thats what matters.

I have taken on board your comment but it sure does`nt alter the fact that the guy is good.

    Keep well.

  • @zugrath16 You have every right to dislike this. But, with all due respect, to me your comment is the misjudgment of the century. This is probably the greatest boogie solo ever played live on stage. Hope you're not taking my remarks as an offence.

  • @zugrath16 People have different taste in music and that's how it should be. But when you accuse Johan Blohm of not having a "feeling for dynamic" you obviously don't know what you are talking about! Do you play any instrument at all?

  • Johan is definitely one of the great boogie-woogie pianists, up there with Ammons, Mead Lux Lewis and Pete Johnson.

  • @epgberlin ... and you should mention Axel Zwingenberger too

  • ur rock men! ;D

  • Wow...!

  • So cool!

  • is he swinging the bass line or playing straight eighth notes?

  • OMFG I WOULD LOVE YOU LIKE MY PIANO CLASS TEACHER!

  • @xXKILL4PWNAXx

Don't you mean "as my piano teacher" ?

  • you just can't do this on the guitar

  • @russ987654

    That's because it's a piano

  • @russ987654

Well yeah you can, but you need two guitars :P

  • He's great

  • Ce gars se sert bien de ses doigts au piano!

  • That is genius. Thank you for posting this, and now I have a pianist to follow.

Why are there only white people attending this concert?

  • @pjuggle Cause it's a swedish artist playing in sweden, and the type of immigrant that comes to sweden usually don't like this kind of music. They like rap and dub step and persian music, in my experience

  • @MenHelvete Thank you. That makes sense. What an amazing pianist.

  • @MenHelvete i'm american, and i like it

  • I dont care what they think about a 15 year old boogie woogie admirer, cause I laugh even harder from the jong peopel around me laughing at me for what my passion is than listening to the what they call " modern music" which includes the so called pop of today...

  • @freezeandfry its not ur fault everyone else is completely retarted and ignorant. top 40 is the worst aberration in existance. Blues and Jazz is the best!

  • @brandojazz thats what im talking about man!

  • This shoulda lasted at least an hour!

  • You play with such ease! Reminds me of how Perry Como sang! Great!

  • Motherfucker can play! Go Johan!

  • Best boogie woogie piano performance I've ever heard, period. What superb technique, and I love the bass line and the many trills without missing a note. I've played this so many times I hope I haven't damaged the record! Birney in Georgia, USA

  • what does it matter what sex or race of people created which music? enjoy it.

  • Awesome movie!!And who founded Cadillac Records????? Which group rules the entertainment world??? Good stuff!!!!!

At Warner brothers their is the Newman Music Hall dedicated to Randi Newmans' family

  • @hrublds333, I'm glad that you know your history brother, but you are like 1 out of millions who actually have done the research and I appreciate your honesty. Yes, music is for everyone to enjoy; however, we must give credit where credit is due, and there is nothing wrong with me being proud that my people created this genre of music. Peace & Blessings! (watch Cadillac Records if you haven't already) Great Movie!

  • How does this guy have 3, 911, 860 views and Oscar Peterson's Boogie Woogie rendition doesn't even have 20,000 views. Remember people, many of the genres of music we love today were started by African-Americans; however, African-Americans are forgotten as the pioneers. Music is for everyone to enjoy, but you have to give credit and respect to those who began the genre of music you so love today. Much Peace.

  • @1sonofkush Here we go again... ALL white boogie woogie players knows where this music came from. I read in an interview that this guys Boogie Woogie heroes are Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson and Amos Milburn, all black people. Everyone who loves Boogie Woogie knows that this style was invented by black people. You dont have to teach us, we know! And we love the pioneers of boogie woogie, no matter what skin color they are. Forget about black or white, just enjoy the music!

  • @1sonofkush Probably because the media and history books would rather give credit to someone else. Blues music and the music that Elvis sang (not to mention his pelvic motions) were both African-American creations as well, but how many African-American artists have gotten their due with those genres of music? At any rate, my next stop os Oscar Peterson's boogie-woogie. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

  • @dharmaseed It is music from the human soul and has nothing to do with the color of one's skin. Color of the skin has no talent. Many good musician's of all colors. Why must people insist everything is about color? I find that sad and much of our problems today. I love Johan Bloom, he does it with such ease and makes it look easy, it is not. Many people have great talent, let us appreciate them all.

  • @snooky1942 Hear, hear!

  • @snooky1942 I am sorry I spelled the last name wrong. Johan Blohm. A very talented man.

  • @1sonofkush

Shame on you. Oscar Peterson was one of the pioneers of not caring what colour the musicians he played with happened to be, so don't sully his name by pointing out the difference.

To answer your question, Oscar's boogie has less views because it keeps getting taken down from Youtube. The more you know.

  • Its very lovley song. Its amazing. but you can see that he dosnt enjoy the music :( that is bothering me. Music is soul

  • @ZaNosHkY I do not see what you see. He plays as if he enjoys it. He plays his heart out.

  • es bueno pero no transmite nada!!

  • @pearsnockie If it was simple then everyone would do it

  • Try hearing this and not smiling

  • is this difficult? looks really simple..

  • OK- who are the 98 deaf losers?

  • I've been in the music biz since 96, wrote a 17 million seller and gold records, cut my first record on Warner/Ayslum and have had several of my own hits, I have been around lots of great players, and you my friend have it going on. Thanks for sharing partner. I raise my glass to you. Royal Wade Kimes

  • Elit boogey manner

  • this IS boogie woogie
