  • This beats my trip aboard the India rail; ha ha ha ha!

  • The top comment - @dlagrua is ridiculous.

$200 can pay for your return trip to almost anywhere by air in the US... probably some parts of canada & mexico too! I'll take the dehumanizing pat down and unsanitary ventilation in contrast to a $200 (extra!) a night, phone booth sized, bed and bath any day.

  • The added costs for your own room on a train is a luxury I am willing to pay. Its not a lot of space but the privacy is welcomed on a train filled with others. One can get there faster and cheaper flying but riding a train slowly getting there is better than driving a car alone. By the time you pay for gasoline, restaurant meals, and motels the sleepers price isn't so bad.

  • This beats the train I took from the Keleti train station in Budapest to Krackov. Cold, toilet stank, rude border guards, just like the old Soviet era.

  • oh this was on the Crescent? AWESOME ive ridden this train before :) I would LOVE to have a bedroom car I slept in coach last time...didnt sleep much but, it was my first trip....next time I will get a bedroom car :)

  • i dont mind those roomettes. very nice comfortable bed and the view from the window is nice with the light off.

  • We took the Zephyr to Chicago then hopped on the Cardinal to Baltimore. It was a round trip in first class bedrooms. I've uploaded vids if you want to take a look. Thanks for a great video!

  • Could you give a recommendation about their sleeper cars for a tall person like myself please? I am 6'7" (my guess is that rules me out).

  • Give me the train, forget the plane. I love trains my earliest memories are of train, too bad more people do not realize how much fun the train can be. Half the fun is getting there.

  • I might be able to take a one way trip on an a Amtrak. But need to save up some money because they cost a lot.

  • I agree with diagrua, train travel is quite civilized. I will take the train over air travel any day. The cost for the full sleeper roomette for Chicago to Seattle was $700 for the two of us but that includes all your meals which, by the way, are wonderful meals.

  • How much do long trips cost. Like yours?

  • woououu seems so nice, god, i hope can take some overnight travel on amtrak soon thaks for sharing :)

  • Thanks for the video, the Bedroom looks basically a lot like the "coupe" rooms we have here in Eastern Europe, MINUS the shower/bathroom section. Instead of it we basically have the "mirror image" of the two beds that are in this room. So you could fit four people.

  • Does Amtrak do round trips like the Air liners do? Researching on Amtrak for a future trip to VA from AZ to visit my some of my friends that live in VA :)

  • looks what we did, Galesburg IL to Denver and return...still, not as good as second class regular night train Stockholm to Ostersund in Jamtland (middle north of Se.)

Be nice if the cars build by Talgo in WI appear soon.

  • how much is a room like that

  • @920gamez Varies season to season and how many days you're traveling (And where). Go to the Amtrak website.

  • do they REALLY have to blow that horn all the time?????

  • @Mongoose6912

lmao, obviously not a train rider. Yes they do, for safety precautions. Though it's not blown "ALL THE TIME" only around crossings and other areas

  • Regarding towards replacements for amtrak, their adding Viewliners II for those who don't know. They're suppose to be more modern than the current Viewliners with more features. There is also going to be rebuilding the Acela's as well. If Amtrak gets enough money, they might invest in a new Amfleet or something replacing them.

  • @chwisch87 You can't sound proof a train.

  • This is the first video that isn't a scary, pixelated blob where you can't tell what's going on. How is the crescent's service? I have considered getting a bedroom, but was always disappointed with the price. Is it worth it or should I settle with a cheaper room?

  • Train travel is for people like my wife and myself that like to travel on the ground and avoid the filthy, overcrowded, unhealthty dehumamizing conditions of air travel. Coach travel is cheap but we always take a bedroom (first class) on overnight trips

The bedroom adds about $200 in cost one way but the comfort, privacy and having a bed and bath in our own room is worth the cost.

  • @dlagrua Airtravel is not like that. It is very clean. (Depending on the Airline of course) *cough* Delta

  • @dlagrua Whats that suppose to mean!

  • @dlagrua Would like to see you travel by train from the USA towards Europe.

  • Wow that horn is eeeeerie!!

  • just one quick question. why would you pay for a bedroom from new orleans to atlanta?

  • My guess would be its because you have to travel all over the country on Amtrack to get to your destination.

  • did that room cost you a lot money and was there a tv on the train

  • Awesome! I saw you in the mirror! 5*****!

  • At last . . . a great video of a bedroom on Amtrak's Crescent--thanks!
