@rowdybeaver33 There is a little kit bag we use for fire starting, it can go inside the kit or on your belt, I had it on my belt that day, and didn't mention it. Our fire kit contains the Doan Magnesium Fire Starting Tool. Good question, thanks for asking. You can see it on out website, also we have some videos about it.
I have a compass -whistle-magnifying-glass-thermometer too mine is made by Coghlan's but my thermometer hasn't moved from 80 degrees F since I got it , but I think its just the one I picked, have you got fire with the magnifying glass and does you thermometer work??
@ManTheBush To be honest, we're evaluating some different options to that combo whistle. When we first used it, it was branded by Silva Compass. Our "Core" kit goes into a Nalgene bottle, so we are really size limited and that works, but we are still looking for something to fill the bill better and still fit. The compass is the kicker actually, there are plenty of really nice whistles. I never tried that mag glass for fire, our kit has a Doan Magnesium bar, so that what I use. Thanks!!
Good idea. It too bad it is not waterproof. Maybe a large silicon o-ring would fit...
