  • I need personal training my goped suck and just want o ride it

  • my goped doesn't have brakes and it hard to get the gunning right it's taken off on me two time when I was trying to tune it I don't have a pull start so I hav to kick it then ride it

  • Some of your notes are incorrect and will be confusing to newcomers. To richen the engine is NOT to allow more fuel/air into the engine, it is to allow more fuel only into the engine. The amount of air entering the engine is adjustable only by the throttle lever. More fuel for a given amount of air is richer, less fuel for the same given amount of air is leaner.

  • @gtdrummerdude

Thanks for the correction, but I had already noted the error in the video description a while back.

  • @SiLeNtShAdOw7777 Ah, I missed it. Hey I could use your opinion about something. I just put a new piston in my G260 hybrid (G23 case and crank with G260 top end) because the old one got messed up when a crank bearing came apart. I drove it for like 3 minutes before trying to max it out (stupid) and it seized. I freed the ring and restarted it, has the samne power and runs great, now trying to brea kit in properly before hitting full throttle again.

  • @SiLeNtShAdOw7777 I've run one tank of gas through it (about 15 miles) and heat cycled it- ran it and let it cool off completely- 7 times now. Do you think that's good enough or should I break it in more? Carb was too lean when it seized, now I have the high speed screw at 1-3/8 turns out where it runs best.

  • hmm and what do you mean by open it 1 and a quarter? turns? 1/16th.?

  • i need help my goped haigh and low jet and i am just a kid and my goped wont start plz help

  • my goped dosent have a high and low jet so i need help. and i am just a kid.my goped wouldnt start i need help plz.

  • Best video on gopedding I have ever seen

  • my engine idles way too high. Which screw do I adjust, b/c I only see one.

  • @yumaokamoto that would be the idle screw, lol sorry for the late reply but give it throttle and you will see a plastic piece turning, with a screw, loosen it until desired.

  • i could of swore turning the screws in would make them leaner.. rich is out lean is in..

  • @jerseyrotaries it does

  • thanks man a few years back when modifiing scooters this would have helped me alot took me 3 weeks but i got it had a bws with a 72cc top performance engin witha teknigas rs for and rear clutches changed to malossi and a top speed gear system and i hit 120 kmph and fast after i set the carb

  • Hey, i need help? well when ever i turn my engine on it runs fine and dandy and idk but il pull the throttle a little and it will keep going and once its really warmed up i wont even touch the exceleration and it will FLY like full speed and its a huge problem i dont know what to do ive bin trying to tune it for the past 2 hours by the way the engine is new

  • you say richen it out at the highest rpm 1/16 of a turn. but you turn the screw to the right

  • You seem like you know a lot of what you're talking about, I've messed around with i think both screws but it just does not still feel smooth, could you tell me which way i should screw them so that is a bit more smoother? Pretty much the problem i have is speed, like for example i have no problem whatsoever to start it but once i start going and reach like a mid-speed it starts to shake a bit and go like crazy... what should i do?

  • hey shadow....... my goped bogs a little bit in the beginnign but the top end is fine which way should i turn my jets and which one

  • when i said richen the needle 1/16th of a turn, wouldnt u use the low jet?

  • @mikeydog1743

It is advised to richen the high jet 1/16 of a turn as a precaution to ensure that there is enough gas/oil to cool the engine at higher RPMs. No need to do it to the low jet since it's mostly works within the idle/lower RPM range.

  • hey, Would i use these same steps to tune a g23lh motor with a pipe, rocket key, hp air filter i am using 91 octane and a wt-603 carb

  • @carguy12345678910 hey the carb you got is that a good carb

  • @ZACKSKATER726317 each carb depends on the motor you have

  • i just bought a chung yang with a carborator for my gsr25 and will i have to tune it, what does it do

  • @BMXPimp13

You mean what does tuning do? It allows you to get the absolute best performance you possibly can from your engine. Proper tuning also makes sure that the engine runs smoothly and reliably.

  • ive followed all the steps but it struggles to reach top rpms help please

  • If you're still having trouble with your engine there might be another problem. Check your gas/oil mixture, spark plug, check for air leaks, the usual diagnostics.

  • can you do a vid on tuning the idle im having problems every time i start it i put the clutch down and it just stalls

  • @pikeybear

What kind of ped do you have? Sounds like a Bigfoot or Geo Sport? If so, the engine will stall when you engage the clutch at a dead stop. You need to get the ped going by kicking for a bit then engage the clutch.

  • my goped has been sitting in my gargae untuned for like 3 months..i have a light blue all custom super Xped....but never knew how to tune it..thanks too you goped runs great. and i know how to tune hahah thanks alot..great video

  • @pimpnride

No prob glad to help! And good to hear that your ped is running great now!

  • Nice ped dude it is asome. I have this problem, I bought this cy29rc engin and when i took off the old engin Two of the boults got strippted, so i was woundering does the cy29rc come with new hardwear.

  • @55ip

Usually they don't but that may vary by who you got your engine from. You should be able to find new bolts at your local hardware store. Size M5 x 14.

  • umm do you just buy 2 stroke oil and gas and mix it all or what?

any simple way of mixing them?

    im new to this..

  • @flawlessbeastizzle

You need to get a synthetic oil (such as Klotz) and mix it with at least 91 or higher octane gas at the appropriate ratio for your engine. If you have an G23LH engine, then the ratio would be 40:1. If you have a "Geo" engine (GZ25N14/23), the ratio is 50:1. If you have an RC engine, then the ratio is 25:1. You can get a measuring cup to help you measure the correct amount of oil. Just mix the gas and oil in a appropriate container and you're good to go.

  • can i fine tune a gpl 260?

  • @uisbitchface

If you mean the GPL290, in it's stock form no. You can add a HP carb if you don't have one already and then that will allow you to tune it.

  • Or almost any other aftermarket part that will fit the engine will allow you to boost performance too.

  • ive recently purchased a goped sport, would you suggest to me any easy upgrades or any tips?

  • -Make sure you mix the proper fuel oil ratio for your engine.

-Adjust the spindle before each ride to make sure it doesn't slip and to maximize tire life.

    - Check the spark plug every few tanks of gas to make sure it's gapped correctly and is clean. Same with the air filter.

If you have an RC engine or any other aftermarket performance parts:

-Tune the carb before each ride.

-Don't WOT for more than 5 seconds.

  • As for upgrades start with a different spindle and HP carburetor if you already don't have one. Then, when you crave more power add a pipe later.

  • i mix mine 2.5 to 1 and it seems to run perfect.

  • Hopefully you mean 25:1.

  • excuse me yes 25: 1 do you think thats ok with 91 octane???

  • Yes that's actually the recommended oil/fuel ratio for RC engines so that's certainly fine.

  • and one more question if you dont mind? what spark plug would you recommend for a 30 cc?

  • The only plugs I've had experience with on these engines are the NGK plugs. They're the plugs that come stock. I've heard good things about Bosch and Champion plugs too. But I can definitely tell you the NGKs work well.

  • what is your top speed?

  • I don't know the exact speed but probably 27-28 mph.

  • thanks man.

  • is synthetic oil required for 230rc?

  • Yes.

  • im new 2 the ped nation..and ive jus purschased a g230rc powered sport..ive been reading up on pro parts..and i jus want to ask will a .800 or a 750. spindle be better for my ped???

  • Well, the larger the spindle the faster you'll go at the expense of acceleration and the smaller the spindle the slower you'll go but with better acceleration. If you prefer speed go with a bigger spindle. If you want acceleration go with a smaller one. IMO, on a stock G230 I'd get a .710. That's a good all-around size. Anything .750 and above will lead to sluggish acceleration (unless you're really light).

  • well i weigh 160.and i will be buying minor preformance upgrades soon like pipe V stack filter and things like that..should i stick to the 710 still or the 750?thanx 4 your help!!

  • No prob. I'd still stay with the .710. You'll be running a setup similar to mine, and right now I'm happy with the good balance of acceleration and top speed.

  • WATCH MY GOPED VIDEO!!!!!

  • So the low jet you use to richen or lean?

The high jet is for the rpm?

  • No. The low jet is for the lower power range and the high jet is for the higher power range. You adjust (richen or lean) both jets to get the best performance.

  • Ok thankz yeah i had problems with the stoke carb so i got this one. when i install it do i need to do anything beside tuning like idk im new with small engines??

  • Nope just tune it and you're ready to go. And tune it before each future ride to make sure you get the best performance from your set up.

  • So if my goped is bogging, and it takes 20 feet to kick start my sport, i would turn the right screw (low jet) couter clockwise? and the high jet leave it, thats rpm and my goped is fine on its rpm?

  • You'd want to tune the high jet as well to get the most out of the higher RPMs. I mentioned that you really shouldn't have to touch the idle screw.

If tuning the carb doesn't do it then there could also be other problems with your engine such as an air leak.

  • I just order that carb for my pocket bike are they anygood????

  • Works well on this engine. Small, but hardly noticeable bog (normal for this carb) off the line but other than that no complaints.

  • 2 stroke engine? mine hardly gets to that high if rpms

  • haha nice voice

  • do you have to drill ahole in the throttle lever thing so that throttle holder can fit in it

  • Yes, the hole is already there it just needs to be widened with a drill so you can fit the swivel into it. I think it's the third hole up from the bottom on the throttle plate but you might want to double check first as I can't accurately recall.

  • thanks i just put a g260 on ma pedd thanks for the help

  • have a 27.2cc reed engine with stuffed crank,2mm stroker, reed ported and a walbro 813 carb in my rc car. but the carb was set up for a standerd g260rc engine.now it's got stupid power so thanks for the vid dude!!!! your a star!!!!

  • all that thing is is a dam weed wacker engine with a shiny pipe on it.

  • yup RC engines are basically that.

  • when i even try to rev it it boggs out

  • Double check your settings and fuel mixture. It's also possible that you have an air leak somewhere.

  • yo my go ped wont run at all it did b fore but now it wont i think it mayb sparkplug but idk or the wrong gas oil mix plse help thnx

  • Double check to make sure you're getting a spark by removing the spark plug and reconnecting it to the ignition. Then hold it close to the cylinder and pull the pull starter. You should be able to see a very small spark. If there's no spark then your spark plug might be gone or needs to be regapped or the ignition might need to be regapped or replaced. If you are getting a spark then check for an air leak and recheck your tuning settings.

  • so ur saying take out sparkplug and try to spark it with out being in the cylinder at and wat do u mean by air leak thanx 4 the help but ya

  • at one part wehn u say ive never thouched that b4 u sound like matt damon

  • question my goped will go 25% throttle and run fine when i go full throttle it seems to bogg i have no clue what the problem is could you help me out thanks

  • You're probably running it too rich. An engine can't burn all the fuel in the cylinder at high speed if it's too rich.

  • same here

  • the more fat u r the slower u go

  • I have a question, is the tuning different for different people as in height and weight?

  • Not really. Once properly tuned the engine should perform as best as it can under the conditions in which it operates.

So in other words a 5'1", 130 pound rider will travel faster than a 6'1", 240 pound rider on the same engine with the same carb settings. Road, wind conditions, and other variables will effect power as well.

  • oh ok. what pipe is that? ADA S1?

  • Yea it's an S1.

  • Yo Shadow, I love your GoPed "Shadow" i have pictures of it on my myspace computer, I have a X-Ped that I just bought not too long ago, I got the motor rebuilt, I believe it was a G260...I got a big bore kit installed, Air Scoop, Air Filter, and XCan, Im buying a pipe next, but how can I tune my engine if I dont have a pullstart?

  • Glad you like it thanks and congrats on your x-ped!

The alternative to a pull start is to pretty much just bump start it and pick it up. Besides having a clutch, this is why I haven't gotten an air scoop or block off. It's makes it easier to start it when you want to work on it.

  • when i rev the engine to tune it, it boggs out, what should i do

  • what engine is that bro?

  • Zenoah G260RC

  • oh okay. good shit man i bet u hella ppl r guna learn from diz vid.

kus other tunin vis are gay as hell
