  • 3:42- Is that Neil Hamilton...Commissioner Gordon from the 1966 Batman TV series?

  • God's own Jean Arthur. An American original. She was a unique and amazing woman. There will never be another like her. I love Jean Arthur.

  • To me, Jean Arthur was the top female screw ball comedienne....followed by Myrna Loy, Carole Lombard, Ginger Rogers, Irene Dunne, Katharine Hepburn...and of course Claudette Colbert. But Arther was the one, without which, the whole genre could not be imagined. She had the heart and soul of a great comedienne...the right looks...and body language...and her voice has been described as "the sound of a hundred bells ringing".

  • Absolutely lovely tribute to a wonderful and talented actress. The photos are divine.

  • Beautiful photos...I think that Gladys Greene had exception taste in heroes too. Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc) & King Arthur. It's too bad that she suffered from extreme stage fright, often getting sick prior to going on stage. Otherwise, she might have won more roles. ★★★★★

  • I just finished watching perhaps the greatest film EVER, "You Can't Take It With You." Jean was perfect as always.

  • Is that Jean Harlow with Jean at 3:59?

  • Not sure what movie at 1.08. Yes that is Jean with Clara Bow and Jean Harlow at 3.59.

  • I just LOVE Jean Arthur! The second I saw "Easy Living" she went straight to the top of my favorite actresses list.

    What movie was at 1:08?

  • This was lovely - I thought the music worked really well with the pictures.

  • I love that Jean Arthur didnt want to share her life with the press. As long as there are great tributes to her, she will always be remembered.

  • Another winner! Beautiful pictures. I've always adored Jean Arthur. It's a shame she's not better known today, but she was very 'Un-Movie Star Like', Always reclusive and often hostile towards the press. She did leave us with a treaure-trove of great films though. thanks.

  • yes, I've never seen these pictures before. where did you get them? the quality is amazing. kudos!

  • Thanks for the info Laura. The pictures were collected over a long period of time from many sources including books. I try to use only the best quality images for my videos and I spend a lot of time on image restoration. I think Ms. Arthur was worth it!

  • absolutely. thanks so much. I love seing pics of Jean that aren't the normal cause their so hard to find.

  • Another fine catch in the sea of Star,s*

she certainly had a glow about here eyes I love. Delightful presence and appeal. She

really loved men and they really loved her

it shows in the photos. Cheers to Jean Arthur.

They say that magic happens only to a few

of us` surely she had the magic to give to

    us all.

    Pierre

  • Great pictures, where you found some of those from in such good quality I have no idea, well done!

  • Baz, Thank You my Friend.

It was well worth the wait and yes i am saving this.

  • Cheers Lee! I really enjoyed researching Jean. I must look out for some of her movies.

  • I'm collecting her movies. You can wikipedia them but here's the ones easiest to find. and probably the best of her work. You might want to read her biography by john oller too. It's great. I'm a Jean Finatic

    The Plainsman

    Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

    Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

    The Talk of The Town

You Can't Take it With You

    The More the Merrier

    Arizona

    Only Angels Have Wings

    A Lady Takes a Chance

  • Must not forget her in shane, her repressed and understated feelings for shane were fantastic, wish i could have her round for a cup of tea, mind you she loved a good drink too,the more the merrier i suppose lol

  • oh I almost forgot that one.Oh i know. I'd love to talk to her, it would be the chance of a lifetime. she's on the TOP of my list of people who are dead i want to talk to if there is a heaven. I love the quote (can't remember it exactly) but i think it was " I couldn't be a nun because i smoke and do enjoy a good drink." I like her more as calamity Jane. in that she got to be very outspoken but she could instantly portrail her volnerability.
