I so wanna watch this movie now. I think this movie deserved an Oscar or two, i don't know if it ever got it. People give those awards to lesser movies these days.

The first two sentences are acceptable for a non-native speaker, but the last (and your eyes... heaven) sounds really odd (when Travolta speaks it) and more like "e os teus ALHOS o céu" (and your GARLICS Heaven), while the correct is OLHOS (eyes) and not ALHOS (garlics). But he did his best... :)
When the woman speaks it's hard to understand, She says "Very good, this way we're gonna understand each other. Where did you learn Portuguese?"

yeah, but in the film, the guy is supposed to have learned portuguese in an incredibly short time, and then it's not like there's anyone who lives in his small town to practice perfecting the accent with...so...while he may have a bad accent, that's not really the point....

This is one of the best scenes of the movie. Shows compassion. I surely hope someone named "josieldeassis" doesn't fuck it up and say something stupid about authenticity when it was made in hollywood for entertainment purposes. Good thing THAT'S not going to happen.

He also says "SINFANIA" in the first sentence, instead of "Sonfonia"!
She has a "gringo" accent when talking, she is NOT brazilian, nor Portuguese.
Nate has beeing dubbed, the one who speaks for him has portuguese accent!
