There are a bunch of older ones at my grandpa's house from when my aunts were kids. I used to play with them when we visited, and a lot of them still smell good, particularly this one with strawberries and cream or something like that on its quarters.
All I can think of is, thank God they didn't use the same sort of animation from the beginning in the later specials. Say what you will about the designs, but at least they weren't...that.
Why the need to separate the fanbase. Lots of fans of the new series are longtime fans. I love all of MLP, including the new series. With the way the "pre-G4 only" fans tend to treat new fans, I can't say I blame the G4 only fans for being abrasive sometimes. They're cartoon ponies. Are they really worth all this fuss?

the original MLPs DID have symbols on them: Minty, Butterscotch, Blossom, Cotton Candy, Snuzzle, Blue Bell were the first 6. You may be Thinking of "My Pretty Pony" the predecessor to MLP , which was larger, made of hard plastic, and the brown version atleast didn't have a symbol.
these were the first ponies, I have Cotton candy, but really, I don't go "I love you my little pony" and KISS it! It's a piece of rubber molded into a shape of a horse with purdy colors!! That is a little weird. I have mine on shelves!!
That never stopped my brother collecting them back in the 90's. We each had our own collections, and he played with him as much as I played with mine. I'd watch transformers and GI Joe with him, and he'd sit with me and watch Care Bears and My Little Pony. He wasn't bothered.

This commercial brings back a lot of memories of a better time. Now, my sister's 7-year-old daughter plays with My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and other toys my sister used to play with. What goes around really does come around!
Growing up with a sister, I played with a lot of girls toys such as Barbies,Rainbow Brite, ,and of course My Little Pony. I played with the male ponys. I used to mix toys and play things like "G.I.Joe meets My Little Pony" or " Barbie/G.I Joe's etc. I based my every day on playing. In fact, my sister was the reason I stopped playing forever, because she suddenly didn't want to ever play again. To this day it's a mystery to me. In the long run, I guess it was for the best I suppose.

I have still Cotton Candy, Blue Belle, and Butterscotch. I had Minty and Blossom, but not anymore. I have lots of other MLPs (old and new), though. :)

the original MLPs DID have symbols on them: Minty, Butterscotch, Blossom, Cotton Candy, Snuzzle, Blue Bell were the first 6. You may be Thinking of "My Pretty Pony" the predecessor to MLP , which was larger, made of hard plastic, and the brown version atleast didn't have a symbol.

these were the first ponies, I have Cotton candy, but really, I don't go "I love you my little pony" and KISS it! It's a piece of rubber molded into a shape of a horse with purdy colors!! That is a little weird. I have mine on shelves!!

That never stopped my brother collecting them back in the 90's. We each had our own collections, and he played with him as much as I played with mine. I'd watch transformers and GI Joe with him, and he'd sit with me and watch Care Bears and My Little Pony. He wasn't bothered.

oh my gosh I remember this camercial too. I LOVED MY LITTLE PONY! I only had one when I was like 5 or something. Then when I got older like 10 plus I was into Pokemon Yugioh etc. I love the CLASSIC toys! I might get back into collecting MLP toys!

This commercial brings back a lot of memories of a better time. Now, my sister's 7-year-old daughter plays with My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and other toys my sister used to play with. What goes around really does come around!

Growing up with a sister, I played with a lot of girls toys such as Barbies,Rainbow Brite, ,and of course My Little Pony. I played with the male ponys. I used to mix toys and play things like "G.I.Joe meets My Little Pony" or " Barbie/G.I Joe's etc. I based my every day on playing. In fact, my sister was the reason I stopped playing forever, because she suddenly didn't want to ever play again. To this day it's a mystery to me. In the long run, I guess it was for the best I suppose.
