I've noticed that Kobe tends to draw quite good 'specialist' type challengers. This man as well as the top sommelier in that tuna battle (not the maguro one with Michiba). They're both highly specialised to one type of ingredient, but they don't quite go overboard with them like most others of that type.
Props to Kobe for fending off skilled challengers like that. Very exciting battles to make for these close margins. He's definitely underrated.

Wow, it didn't seem like Kobe did well enough on the salad and panini to pull off the win here, but his the panel loved his pasta, which was the last thing they tasted before voting. This was a fun battle to watch, it makes me want to go to the challenger's restaurant.
That bitch kishi's probably paid by the show to always undercut the challenger. She knows that everyone else always grades the two chefs with a 1 point difference, so she'll drop a 3 point difference to insure that the iron chef always wins. Everyone knows that the only sauce that Kobe is accomplished at making is weak sauce.
