  • One of the members came to my synagogue in San Francisco, and it sure was a very memorable service, though I had some difficulties understanding his english due to a malfunctioning microphone. But he sure is a very talented singer and his hebrew is absolutely excellent. I have the c.d and the book of poetry for proof!

  • cute :) Shalom !

  • The Allah Jah that I know has a will to emanate kindness and compassion on all peoples and does not will defeat, especially towards children singing peace songs as is depicted in this video. One day my friend, all of our bodies will be eaten...mine and yours...And all of this hatred as well will become compost for beauty and harmony to blossom.

  • I have found that those who know G-d, and carry the fragrance of being in His presence manifest love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...on the other hand, fear, anger, hurt, shame entraps a person and can cause a person to hurt others. In the end, the person is also hurt and remains entrapped in a stronghold.

  • no can defeat us.

  • How cute.. they seemed so excited!

  • awesome beats any regular cantor

  • this made my night! <3

  • Thanks! :D

  • Please, may i ask you all something?

    Who is Hashem?

    regards

  • Hashem is a non-sacred name for g-d.

which means we can use it without fear of accidental blasphemy.

    such as 'oh my g-d!'

    regards.

  • this is so cute!

  • Look what haShem did! HE made His people look like all of the people of the world. Chinese, Japanese, Burman, Indian, European, African, etc. - All JEWS?! Wow! WOW!!! Were they not to be a light to the nations? And HE did it - no man did. How great is HE? WHO is like HIM? Who knows the mind of haShem? He who never slumbers nor sleeps. He is GREAT and greatly to be PRAISED! He who created us all - He who loves variety! This is absolutely beautiful. Shalom and thank you for posting this..

  • Walksbyf8h, Well said. Well said. The Lord God is to be feared(reverenced), worshipped, adored, magnified, praised, obeyed and served. Is n't it a WONDER!

  • thats so cute!!!!

  • am-azing! You and them!

  • Maybe some people lied. How can you tell? Just like Russian immigrants. Why should we be suspicious of people, what can we gain?

Even if half are not Jewish, I would take all of them for the other half. How many people in the world do you think are proud to call themselves Jewish?

  • Ethiopians have a good chance of Jewish heritage. The region was popular in the ancient world, I'm sure there were Jews there. Even if they were converts, they are ancient converts and have mesorah of their own.

The Ugandan Jews wish to be Jews, and live like Jews, so now they are.

I'm Jewish now because of my Polish grandmother, who may not have been originally Jewish. I'm sure this thing happened around the world. Anyways, we're all here now.

  • this is absolutly beautiful...SHALOMISLAM!!!

  • I wish I had known about the Abayudaya Jews of Uganda when I was last in Uganda. Not sure if I will be going back. If this doesn't put a big smile on your face...their joy is wonderful.

  • girls gonna be some tuff women when they grow up ;)

  • Priceless. They sure can teach us stiff legged Jews how to dance! LOL

Bless the children O' Hashem! Make them STRONG believers in YOU.

  • Sounds like they knew a different tune, as often happens.

I got so accustomed to tunes in the Reform Temple, that when the Rabbi opted to change the tunes, I lost some of my favorites and had to learn them all over again. :)

  • Well thi song is also sung with that harmony.

  • ADORABLE

  • how the israelite or hebrew got the black look in the history?? complete mystery? is any played with the genetics or DNA? LOL

  • Conversion. As Judaism spread, various races converted. Once a person converts, other Jews (Cohanim can be an exception) can marry them. Or, the convert can marry other converts.

As long as the mothers remain Jewish, by not intermarrying with non-Jews, the children remain Jewish, even though their skin color doesn't go along with any given person's idea of what a Jew looks like (the Mishnah says the children of Israel were the color of "boxwood" in the 1st Century).

  • Wonderful! Good singing by these cute kids. Bless the Lord.

  • sababbah

  • very nice and have a happy new year, zain batahat laaravim

  • it makes me cry

  • really? 'Cause you might be experiencing depression.

  • Anybody who is spiritual enough to get into Hashem's presence DOES CRY. HE fills your tears in a little jar and it's called compassion maybe? I never cry, EXCEPT for "in worship to my KING"... Real men do cry.

  • Are they converts?

  • no, jews are all over the world and iam happy that the most are able to sing :-)

    anyway, sure lovely :-)

  • Their ancestors were.

  • so cute!!! Nice video!!!

  • bring them and there family back to isreal help them

  • Maravilloso!!!!

  • They're singing about "Bibi" Netanyahu's brother who was killed during an Israeli false flag operation at the at Entebbe airport. Beautiful. Thank you!

  • How Cute!!!!

  • each kid has their own personality, so adorable! Also I love how they sang over the guitarist with THEIR version of which stanza they felt should come next!

  • Im so glad you all like this video. These kids were AMAZING! So full of life and spirit. We became instant best friends. In the Early 80, after Ida Amin regime, The Jews of Uganda actualy built a KIBUTZ to revitalize the comunity! And all the young Jews lived there and Music became their main link and form of comunal expresion. I have more videos with the kids I'll post soon. Also the Abayudaya have an awsome CD that I highly recomend.

    B'Shalom
