  • Thank you for sharing this! I have the HONOR to actually personally know 2 GREAT men who survived this cruel war. Vince Sperenza & Herb Suerth of 101st Airborne "E" Company. We have a great museum in Bastogne only about the 101st! Herb & Vince come visit us twice a year. The story's they tell.... o man... it makes you speechless! I will never forget what Vince said to me; He said "If my children and grand children would know what I've did, would they look at me the same way?" Amen.

  • @AS474923 Just wondering what acts of bravery your ancestors did in WW2? Care to share or just criticize those who did their jobs in conditions that you cannot even begin to imagine? I totally agree with CPTpriceFTW!

  • !!

  • jesus someone give him an oxygen tank ... looks like he is gona pass out..

  • i hate people and their god bs. oh god saved me bla bla bla. whatever.

  • @AS474923 dude shut the fuck up.

  • @AS474923 They've earned the right to say whatever they want. What gives you the right to criticize them?

  • @clovenrick you have no idea what the Germans felt back in the 40's. Hitler brought them out of the worst depression Germany ever saw, they thought he was a god, watch the documentary The Third Reich, The Rise. You might actually be able to make a valid opinion about it then

  • @m82a1light50cal Already have. Did you watch the FALL? Moron!

'Those were the kind of things you do when you survive'.

  • 49st. is the best

  • NUTSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

  • IT"S OK !! DONT FIGTH !

  • IT"S OK !! DONT FIGTH !

  • Major Richard Winters January 21, 1918-January 2, 2011 Easy Co. 506th PIR 101st

  • @podo42 Absolutely. The greatest hero of WW2. Those brave bastards of Bastogne. There are no greater heroes than the guys of Easy Company Airborne. BASTOGNE. EASY COMPANY AIRBORNE.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne theres other companies in the 506TH that saw more combat and took more casualties than easy company like able company in the first two weeks had lost 18 killed plus 56 wounded compared to easy companies 4 wounded and none killed even though easy companies cassualties wrose cosiderably as the weeks went on they still finished with an average amount of cassualties compared to other companies and the 501st had worse cassualties than the 506th

  • @boxing238 My dad's cousin was in the 18th. Most have never heard of the 18th - there you go. He was fighting in the Battle of Grave. He could have even had the great honor to have met some of the legendary heroes of Easy Company. It was Bastogne which was the key battle of WW2. Here Easy Company held the entire German Army. They were lead by the great Dick Winters, the best and most famous soldier of WW2.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne american soldier,,,

  • @boxing238 Hi. I just found a video that my dad's cousin did. youtube.com/watch?v=vsdRR5uOSnY He predicted the rise of China. He was started off in the Phillipines and was mentored by Colonel Marshall, who he had great respect for. I don't know whether he had the honor to meet with the great Major Winters of Easy Company. I know he met Jack Kennedy, a naval hero of WW2.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne easy company DID NOT hold off the entire german army at bastogne firstly thats physically impossible and secondly thats not the way it happenned. 1st battallion 506th was placed further north in noville and the 501st was placed east of bastogne were most of the german army was approaching from. some companies in 1st battalion 506th had lost more people than the hole of 2nd battalion combined (easy company was in 2nd battalion)

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne oh and dick winters wasnt in easy company at the time of bastogne he was on 2nd battalion staff ps. saying dick winters was the best soilder of ww2 is flatt out wrong the best soilder of ww2 was the most highlly decorated soilder of ww2 who was a new zealander captain charles upham VC and bar he was the only combat soilder to ever recieve two victoria cross'

  • I am a former Artilleryman 70-73. I won't or wouldn't fight for what we have going on here now. Except ....

  • @TheBelldiver you mean your country is not fighting honorable wars right now, do not you?

  • you old boys just wont get enough praise from the rest of us lucky young..we love you all

  • First, because a piece of glass wasn't destroyed means that there's a GOD? If all of the buildings were destroyed except for a WalMart does that mean you should only shop at Walmart?

And as for that Hitler Youth Nazi bitch you took down, don't worry about it. She would have killed you and sung praises about it.

  • @Notawesomeatall7 Dont talk about the hitler youth like that you fucking kite

  • @Knasterreal1 FIRST OF ALL, a KITE is something you fly in the air. A KIKE is a JEW. If you're going to call someone a name, make sure you're spelling it correctly and using the correct term. I'd call you a cunt, but you have neither the depth, nor the warmth.

  • @Notawesomeatall7 You idiot the reason i wrote KITE is that so i wouldnt be attacked by the statesponsored censorship we have in Sweden. Afterall you apparently knew what i was meaning nevertheless so it hit the spot.

  • @Knasterreal1 They have censorship in Sweden? I thought it was a really open country where everyone was allowed to live freely and express themselves as they wanted....I thoughts Swedes loved everyone and were really open minded....damn...learn something new everyday.

  • @Notawesomeatall7 Yeah count yourself lucky you aint living in Sweden thats all i say.

  • Band of Brothers brought me here

  • @eivindtaper same

  • damn...that story about the crucifix got to me

  • 101st Airborne Easy Co, Currahee!

  • my grandfather and his brother was in the navy in ww2 and my dad was in the 101st as a scout pilot in vietnam. the stories that ive heard are enough to keep you up. THANK GOD FOR THESE MEN AND ALL THE MEN OF OUR ARMED FORCES.

  • The Battle of Bulge was Hitler's Reality Call that his Master Plan was Doomed to Failure from the very beginning of the Offensive.

  • @EvilFingers actually it was in russia when the shit hit the fan for the germans....to many frontlines to hold.....start of the end.!!!

  • @208stroker1

The Russian Front was One Whole Front, not several fronts, unless youre referring to all Three Fronts, Western, Eastern and Southern as too many fronts.

  • @EvilFingers yer thats what i meant.....i agree with you , battle of the bulge was hitlers last effort to try a final push...

  • 100th person to like what do i win?

  • what is he saying from 8.18 to 8.23??

  • See this is what real war should be like. Not like today where you've got planes without pilots and guns without shooters. The men on the frontlines today are shit compared to what the 101st had to go through.

  • @gredallader So you'd rather americans lose their lives on the frontlines? I bet the 101st and any other front line verteran would have a very, very different opinion on what "real war" should be.

  • @riojurkin I think what he meant is that in those days it was really up to the soldiers to do the job. For example tanks today have laser guided aiming etc and can fire so fast you cant do nothing. Back then they relied more on skill and cunning. Im not supporting unnecessary loss of lives or anything. Im against war. But you know what i mean.

  • @gredallader

Not just the 101st, every Soldier and every Unit on both sides of the Battlefield.

  • NUTS!

  • Father-in-Law was a Machine Gunner on a .30 cal.

The Battle of the Bulge was his only combat action but that old man went through hell there.

You never met a nicer guy in your life, combat like that changes a man forever.

  • You boys shoulda been there.

  • im playing the new WWII strategy game R.U.S.E. and when i got to the mission that i have to re-enforce bastonge( even though its not really hisorically correct) its hard as hell

  • Screaming Eagles! Screaming for their mummy's when they have to fight!

  • @TheEnoughisEnough maybe these days yeah lol, but back then they were top notch I think, me personaly I think the 173rd is the shit these days

  • I don't think I ever heard of one instance where hitler accepted the advice of his generals to withdraw, regroup, change tactics, etc.--his arrogance was the worst enemy of both himself and the German people.

  • NUTTS!

  • ive always wanted to be in easy Co. 101st airborne division

  • Sorry Scout, but the German offensive was doomed to failure from the beginning. No way they could have made it to Antwarp once they were out of their fixed positions. Just another waste of life and prolonging an unavoidable defeat.

  • mmmmmmm

  • some tough mother fuckers who came out of that battle. some vets said they were holding the line with a bullet a piece through the nights.

  • Alguem poderia traduzir para o PORTUGUES este video?

  • "I'm not sure that anybody who lived through that one hasn't carried with him, in some hidden ways, the scars. Perhaps that is the factor that helps keep easy men bonded so unusually close together."

     Capt. Richard Winters

  • Nuts...

  • 2 divisions of nazi youth, how old were the nazi youth?

  • @ln4359 14-17

  • @tri8eagle yes 14-17 but there where als older mans with the ages from45 tho 60

  • @snipeahead - 16 was the youngest to participate from the Hitlerjugend in fighting, 14 was when they would recruit them and place them in fighting camps led by SS veterans.

45-60 year-old's would be those training the Jugend at the camps, or being shifted into reserve units on the German interior.

  • lol

nazi advance had all chances to kick allies back in ocean

only if soviets willn't save their asses by forcing offencive in Poland

  • your grammar fails.

  • I'm not at english lesson lol

  • sorry buddy but the nazis had 55 hrs worth of fuel and weather once that was finished so were they the german tanks were much better but with out fuel and ammo they are useless the americans , brought about 50,000 shermans but it wasnt those that killed the panzers and tigers it was the mustangs and air support that the americans were waiting for the weather to clear then it was over in short order even with out the russians by this time the bombing of germany had begun

  • thank u soldiers

  • THANK YOU AMERICA!!!!

  • god bless them

  • merci a ces hommes qui nous ont donner la liberte de vivre en donnant leurs vie ,ils resterons des heros et des hommes defendent des valeurs humaine . merci . mon grand pere a combattus a monte casino pour nos liberte de la pologne.

  • Great video. my late uncle, my Dad's brother, fought there with B Co., 506th PIR 101st.

  • easy company?

  • so did my grandpa :) bcompany

  • @texasreb58 Richard Winters of 101 Airborne was there. He is my acquaintance. A true gem of a human being.

    I have met Lipton too!

  • @siddkulk:

    When did you meet Carwood?

  • @texasreb58 what is his name??

    101 airborne ????????

  • This man has great character. There used to be a lot of men just like him. Somehow, for some reason, they stopped making them like that.

  • dont forget the npwegian sabboteurs especially max manus for what they did in Norway. The Donau freighter expected to to transport german troops from norway to aid their troops in bastogne. but its was sunk by the sabboteurs.

  • what your uncle's name??

  • thanks if it wasnt for him i woundnt have choosen to go into the army myself

  • my great uncle was with the 101st he got wonded on his left side from the main gun of a tiger tank took out six nazis, wounded several others before the medics took him off the field at this battle. now i see why he never talked about the battles he was in

  • SURE, waffen ss troops would have left no survivors

  • well they did buddy sorry to bust your bubble

  • With all due respect, but I cant quite understand what the is saying about that 15 year old girl. Can anyone help me out? Would love to know... ty

  • He said: They attacked and I didnt know that there was any young kids and this was a youn girl and I ripped her from here all the way thru almost cut her in two with a .30 caliber machine gun. He says further when he found out that he got the shakes and couldnt do anything except of weep and cry for her Its tough to live with that!

  • fuckkkkk.... how horrible!!! must eat you alive!!!

Thanks alot man, I appreciate it!

  • My Grandfather told me a story about theiving a chicken, cooking it up and then gettin volunteered for a patrol, and coming back to a pile of bones. The story on here made me smile! I just wonder! Pete Hiett, III/502 E Co.

  • 101st - best of the best. they make me proud to be an American.

  • @nypchung No they werent.

  • @nypchung Best of the best!!! Don't be rediculous; Hitler attacked the Americans because as he called them they were the allies Italians. IE fucking shit fighters!

  • @nypchung Americans suck

  • @nypchung Proud to go to war a place like vietnam iraq or afganistan where theres more civilians killed than enemys .. Yeah. You must be proud.

  • @PCGamer314 Stick to PC gaming fairy.

  • @clovenrick Wow dude - I've never seen such an assault on the nationality of a person ever - And no, it was not only Danes who "whored" themselves to German's, it happened all over Europe, also in France. There was approximately only 12.000 Danish Volunteers in the SS, yet still a high number, but that hardly makes every kid nowadays decendant from the SS...

  • @MuchoFunkie Sorry sorry sorry. I slam ass holes that slam my country by slamming theirs. "BUT"..... I usually go back and remove the comment a day later or so, so as to not insult other people from that country. I leave it long enough to nake sure they read it. Guess I forgot this one. It's gone now.

Forgive me, guess my mind is slipping.

AGAIN, SORRY SORRY SORRY A THOUSAND TIME SORRY ;-/

I've been to Denmark and love the place (almost as good as Germany)..;-P

  • Patton was the commander of the 3rd Army, & prior to that the 7th Army in Sicily. An USA Armored Div. was divided into 3 Combat Commands (CC) of reinforced regiment to brigade strength: CCA, CCB, and CCR (Reserve). Units of the 10th Armored Div. and other small USA units from the defeated frontline divs. were also in Bastogne with the 101st.

  • fuck the nazi pigs

  • those krauts fucked all up in our country

  • it's a shame that ur comment was 'thumbs down' 3 times..... HOW COULD ANYONE ADMIRE THE FUCKIN NAZIS???!!?!!!?!!? WTF???

  • I think you got that wrong.

    Nobody admires the "Nazis"

But he got the thumbs down, because it is just wrong to call all Germans Nazis!Thats why he got thumbs down.Germans are reaaaally annoyed to always beeing called Nazis!Give it a break,we got it!

  • ...whoops...

  • honestly, it just goes to show that a mindless leader like ol' adolf's actions reflect the country as a whole, and pretty much affect the citizens of it for....ETERNITY....

  • The soldiers or the politics? There is a major difference.

  • Nazi's should have over run them and pushed them back...shows the fight the 101st had!

  • how come everyone mentions patton as the savior of the battle of the bulge?

the 101st airborne never said they needed rescue in Bastone

  • You are right, Patton was not the savior of the Bulge, but his 4th Brigade Tanks were the first to reach Bastogne and open the encirclement from the Germans and this made possible the evacuation of wounded and brought supplies for the defenders. Best regards.

  • Lol patton was the commander of the 4th arm division. he sended them you are wrong.

    Lol

  • Patton was commander of US 3rd Army. He sended a combat command (CC) to North, to brake the encirclement made by germans. This CC was from 4th Arm Division. He sended them, but who saved Bastogne were the paras from 101. Best regards.

  • Glad somone found it funny

  • harrymorphus:

You totally ruined that whole sentence with "Sucrifice".

Don't forget Russia, we didn't even go into Berlin. USSR Kicked the Nazis all the way back to the capital. How humilianting.

Strange though, because the USSR agreed to enter Poland and occupy it, WITH the nazis, and half it.

  • The agreement Between Ribbentrop and Molotov is only a surprise to those who somehow expected the USSR to help the West, when the West, including the USA, had been attacking the country rhetorically for nearly 20 years. Why should Stalin have been any less cynical than any of those other bastards? Plus: dictator is dictator, regardless of color. These guys want power.

  • yea the contribution of usa in ww2 are much... and we must say thank's for that

but otherwise usa is not the only hero or winner in that war... there are polish, english, canada, france, holland, aussie, china russia,etc....don't forget their sucrifice too

  • You are right. We should say thank you to the Polish, English, Canadians, French, Greeks, Russians, and all the other people who resisted the Nazi's.

  • watch band of brothers

  • Incredible. The troops were retreating, and one group was going the other way - advancing towards the enemy. That was the legendary Easy Company. It is incredible that one company halted the entire German Army in their tracks. As the man said "We're not afraid - We're airborne". These guys of Easy Company never surrender - ever!

  • one company = approx. 200 men( when full strength). one division = approx. 10,000 men. easy company did not stop the german army by themselves there was 23 other infantry companies at bastogne as wall as signal, reconnaisance supply and artillery troops .plus combat command B of the 10th armored division ( approx .4000 men ) not to take anything away from easy company but they only had a 600 meter section of the bastogne perimeter which was probably 5-8 miles around. every company contributed.

  • mega. If people think of Bastogne, they think of Easy Company. My relative was a deputy in the 18th. The 18th was a bigger unit also. However, it is hardly mentioned. Ask any person in the street "Who are the 18th"? They will not know. Ask them "Who are Easy Company", and people will say things like the heroes of D-Day, Bastogne, Dick Winters and liberating countries.

  • you missed my point

  • You wonder why? THEY WERE ALMOST ALL KILLED!

  • Bastogne! The greatest battle in the history of mankind, more famous even than the Battle of Troy! Winters is the modern day Achilles, only better.

  • Don't you think you are exaggerating a little bit?

  • People like my father faced the untrained Germans in Greece and Crete. My father was an untrained volunteer too. The German operation was badly planned too. Did you know that some of them actually jumped by parachute directly on top of the defenders? Men of Easy Company faced crack troops who had years of experience. Easy Company was the best unit of the war. There were other US airborne troops also, but all looked up to Easy Company as the "Elite Number Ones".

  • captain sobel did a great job

  • Captain Sobel was a patriot like the other men of Easy Company. He was awarded the Purple Heart!

  • and promoted to logistics officer!

  • AStrom. Logistic officer is very important in any company. Easy Company was not just any company!

  • hell sure, i get your point. Like most of us i saw band of brothers. And there he was potrait in a funny way, thats why i tried to make a joke. :-)

  • That's OK. I thought it wa the one bad point about Easy Company - they way they treated Sorel. After all, he had to face the nazi empire too. They didn't even attend his funeral. I guess they expect very high standards, though. After all, it is Easy Company and they are AIRBORNE!!!

  • Great footage. This was a battle between Easy Company and the entire German army.

  • nebelwerfer at the start, not nice to be on the receiving end of

  • badass video man..thank for posting
