@CallumJ230 america is a top military power, other countries during the cold war need our protection. our bases are still there because we train our soldiers on different terrain and we train many European armies as well. where i live in america we have the largest air force base in the country and we often have english and danish airmen flying in the sky's above. and now i will ask you, why does england have military bases around the world?

I thought that it was cool that Lech Walesa pushed the first "domino" at the Berlin Wall celebration. It was in fact in Poland that the first cracks in the Iron Curtain occured in August of 1980 and continuing throughout the 1980's.
