  • Cutest song I've heard in such a long time!

  • SUCH a treat!

  • Check out Jian Ghomeshi playin the drums!! So awesome

  • QTV host now

  • hahaha this brings me back...

  • LOL...I'd say my baby knows me pretty well to send me this video :) I love it :)

    Great song and vid!

    Annie

  • Meanwhile, in Canada...

  • cuddling with burroughs... scary thoughts

  • @MansourtheAmazing LOL I know! I just finished Naked Lunch, crazy stuff.

  • It's good, its just...Canadian.

  • @cclasby haha

  • chris pirillo got me intersted in moxy coool

  • Jian is a classy guy full of wit . Love the beautiful voice blanding Moxy makes.

  • Great tune and well-shot video! Hey Billy Bob: After seeing your insulting interview, I'm not buying your CDs. I am buying Jian & friends CDs instead. I think many others will also vote with their dollars in the same way.

  • Me too!!

  • It's got me re-interested in Moxy! Billy Bob is now known as a fool, world wide!

  • well, now Jian is now known more outside Canada, he will have more listeners of his shows.. Billy Bob made history: 1st person asked to leave a Willie Nelson tour. I don't t buy the sudden flu of Billy Bob's band. Bands, dance companies, orchestras, circuses...all who tour get the flu, the show must go on, and it does. I had enjoyed some of Billy Bob's films, but now I have this image of him in my memory from the Q TV interview, and it's like a bad VHS tape that I can't get rid of.

  • I agree, no repairing Billy's image now. He played the loser well in Bad Santa, just playing himself. He got the "boo flu" Toronto gave him a taste of their gravy.

  • i cant agree more!!!

  • I agree. More like Billy Boob. Think he's a good actor, but he's a bum in real life.

  • this is the hymn for every bookseller!

  • This is totally going to be my wedding song someday.

  • LOL. I Love this

  • If you think this video makes you embarrassed to be Canadian, go watch a Robin Sparkles video, particularly "Let's Go to the Mall"

  • You realize that Robin Sparkles video is from the tv show How I Met Your Mother and is not in fact a real 80s pop song?

  • I know that, though was hoping antondmannaseh didn't

  • Why does it make you embarrassed to be Canadian? It's just a white thing to have comical songs, I mean, what other race listens to songs about silly stories? And this is a funny song and moxy fruvous has some really nice songs

  • You should be Argentinian, you wouldn't worry about a song embarrasing you here =/

  • cool video of song I heard on dr. demento

  • good comment bunghole

  • Thanks, asshat!

  • This is one of my favorite videos. I love these guys. My comment was sarcastic. Not sure why you thanked me for calling you a bunghole : )

  • Well, asshat you don't seem to be able to figure out things!

  • 2002 called, it wants the word "asshat" back.

  • then why are you watching the video?

  • I'm not. Why do you keep replying to me?

  • Oh, get a room, you two! :P

  • I'm sad, i never heard of them until after they were no more. Now i'm addicted and they don't exist. :(

  • oh man, i miss moxy..

    Frugirl 4life..<3

  • Clever!

  • It would be a great if Q had all the boys on. Mike Ford was on a few months ago because he has a new album out. Such smart, sexy, literate guys. I miss them!

  • oh, babyfaced jian ghomeshi. think Q will ever do a Moxy Fruvous retrospective?

  • Ooohh they were sooo good! If only they were still together.

  • Ah, those were the days....They used to come to Cleveland a lot--I saw them first when they opened for Nick Heyward--no one knew them, but I believe everyone walked away a fan....I still proudly display my autographed "Wood" tour poster....sure wish they were still around--the music industry needs a sense of humor and humility....

  • Not often a band's live version is better than the original studio version. This band was so much better live! Wish they would get together and tour again.

  • This song relates to me

  • I saw them live SO many times in Toronto I lost count. I really miss their music. It's such a shame they parted ways.

I'm still holding out for a reunion... but I don't see much hope. :(

  • I saw them in '98 at a Borders book store in Pittsburgh. The place was packed! Still, to this day, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Miss these guys.

  • They play this song at my school, every wednesday after lunch. It's our designated "Drop everything and read" time.

  • This song is me. Completely. It makes me laugh how accurate it is. Whoever my poor future boyfriend is, he'll have to put up with books all over the place...

  • THEY WENT TO MY SCHOOL!!! yayay

  • Why oh why did I have to become a fan after they stopped touring? wah!

  • Ditto. I believe my fandom began weeks after they finished their last tour.

  • The live shows were (are ) some of the best live shows of any musicians I have seen.

Tons of personality, impromptu songs, banter with the audience. In short tons of fun!

  • @Momo83 why did they have to stop touring, period?

  • Sin City effect!

  • Chronologically speaking, I think Sin City had a Fruvous effect ;-)

  • Actually, the first movie in use the "Sin City Effect" was "Schindler's list", by Steven Spilberg.

  • I love these guys!

  • I like reading.

  • Great music video . . . shame about the image quality.

  • Great.... come back to us guys :(

  • Great Song, GReat band

  • I saw these guys at York University when they opened for the Barenaked Ladies! They were awesome...what a show!!!! I think I paid 6 bucks to go to that concert....wow!

Why did they change some of the original author names?

  • Like who? Those are all the authors' names, as far as I know.

  • "cuddle up with Robertson Davies, live out my life with Jane Ruhel (sp?), I've been flirtin with PF burton an d PF Burton's no fool" was the original way they sang it on the tape

  • Pierre Burton, not PF Burton. And they changed it because they wanted to. Also, to maintain the rhyme with bell hooks, they'd need to change "no fool" to "with his books".

  • "Spilled some dressing on Doris Lessing!" LOL!

One of my favourite concerts ever was a Moxy Fruvous show.

Miss ya, guys. Hope you're all fine and well.

  • Love Fruvous, love the song, but holy cow that video ... it's hard to evaluate because the copy is just kinda poor, but I agree with the person who said it could make you seasick.

  • Love the song, never seen the video before. Man, it's pretty bad. The camera is everywhere, I think I'm going to be nauseated.

lol - "I'm pounding the Ouzo with Mario Puzo"

  • This song came out when I was only 8. I remember when it was on the radio, like all the time. The only is that I probably could have gone the rest of my life without seeing this video. MuchMoreMusic rated this at #5 of the worst videos of '93.

  • "Oondaje started a food fight" - I bet he really would ;-D

  • Man thanks for posting those, VERY VERY COOL, I have been looking for Fruvous videos to watch and now you just made the happiest person, THANKS :) :)

  • Oh god I miss the lads so much. Come back, Früvous!

  • THANK YOU. I remember watching this in terrible quality in 2004 on the Maplemusic site! Then, they took it off.

  • I believe it's still there. That's where I ripped these from right before I uploaded them here.

  • Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks!

  • @j2n4me Now you can watch it in terrible quality in 2011 on youtube.com

  • tryin a little too hard to be clever... wish somebody would write a song called "I'm a Star in Toronto"

  • OMG!!! Best. Video. Ever. Thank you for posting!!

  • Yeah, nobody knows them in Canada. They're so good though! Oh well, it's cool when nobody's ever heard of your favourite band.

  • Are you kidding me? I know tons of Fruheads in Canada (myself included!)

  • FRUVOOOUS

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Classic Fruvous! ^^ I never saw any of their videos (only saw them in concert in PA and upstate NY) so this was a very nice treat...ty so much for posting all of these! :)

  • as if a mad scientist spliced the genes of Barenaked Ladies, Corky and the Juice Pigs and the Skydiggers, Moxy Prouvous would be the offspring. thanks for sharen!!

  • I always likened them to a cross between They Might Be Giants and the Muppets. How come they never got big here like Barenaked Ladies did? I mean they had a huge US following but not the video or radio fame that Barenaked Ladies eventually did.

Oh how funny is Murray's hair in these old videos? haha

  • I LOVE THESE GUYS!
