I went to elementary school in Brattleboro, and my kindergarten class took a field trip to the top of the Retreat Tower. I had know idea it was built by patients...it sure was fun at the time.

I live in Brattleboro VT and when I was little I always used to look up in the hills and see the "castle" and I would ask my mom "mommy, is that a princess castle?" and my mom would say yes. now that I know it was an Insane Asylum that makes me have different thought's about the "castle." ...
