  • I don't see anyone working.

  • ok what exactly is an information picket line? how does it stop production how does it work? By the way John Lennon was a scab and a junkie multi millioner who never identified with the folk i work with..

  • what the hell is an information picket line? is it a picket line where the pickets give out information about something? honest A piket line stops production where I come from

  • An information picket does stop production! A picket line is a picket line! The teamster union and the iron worker union fucking scabbed out the 1325 the 488 the 92 and the 424 when they crossed the carpenter lines! Alberta is Texas of the north, land of scabs and non union.

  • last I checked the Carpenters were no friend of the Ironworkers. In fact last I checked the Carpenters were only out for themselves. So much so that the Ironworkers, Tin Knockers and Glazers had to form a exterior building alliance to prevent the carpenters from taking our work. You guys are just this side of a scab. At least a scab knows they are a scab...you clowns...a whole other story bro

  • Stealing work eh? Clowns? Let's see...there was a stop work order put on the iron workers at Shell Scotford north of Fort Saskatchewan multiple times just in my unit. First off, they unload two trailers of pipe supports. Second, they get caught welding the same supports! Lets not mention CNRL. Where the pipe fitters said no to time and a half Saturdays. The iron workers said what the hell...we'll work it for time and a half and rig your pipe. Dont talk to me about stealing work or being a scab!

  • Not sure what goes on up north in Canada but the Ironworkers are the last trade to be accussed of stealing work. It deeply disturbs me to hear that my brothers up north may not be doing their part to keep the Ironworkers name clean.

For the record I don't feel its the rank an file Carpenters I feel its the leadership that are dirty rotten no good shit heals.

  • @jazzman3071 LOL I'm a union carpenter & i had to hire Ironworkers to set iron for School exterior windows-talk about a bunch of fucking slubs.I had to RE-PLUMB every single fucking piece of steel they put up.Then i had to watch them & plumb both sides of the steel myself. Ironworkers try to steal other people's work also.At least most of the work we do-WE DO RIGHT. And fuck the tin-knockers-they had the chance to claim STEEL-STUDS & THEY NEVER DID & NEITHER DID THE DUMB IRON WORKERS. LOL OhWell

  • @cadu1995 There are good and bad in every lot. I can tell you in the New England and NY district councils the Ironworker is rarely accused of stealing work. I can tell you that I have had opportunity to to other trades work, boilermakers, millwrights and OE to name a few. Every time I have said no that is not my work. I have even gone as far as to call the effected trades BA to let them know what is going on and that they need to get in touch with someone about the issue.

  • @jazzman3071 NY ironworkers try to steal our work on an every day basis & vice versa.(with windows).

God bless you my son. I have also called the Lathers, when my own company-shitty outfit-were doing their black iron.LOL for the ceilings.as a matter of fact i reported them to the GOOD company workin g downstairs in the building.

  • @cadu1995 I swear the sash work is going to make the trades kill each other. It needs to be us(the trade unions) versus them not us versus everyone and anyone.

I joined the Ironworkers to do Ironworker work. Specificaly welding. I pretty much only do welding. If its not my work I don't do it end of story. I have been laid off because I refused to do another trades work.

  • @jazzman3071 Good for you.Just be careful.

  • Strange as it is, that's what some unions do these days. Not only that, they may even use non-union people to do the picketing for them, while *they* keep working at their jobs. Those "information" protests are usually the ones that have those outsourced picketers, who are typically homeless people or college kids, who are *paid* to picket. I'm still scratching my head over this, trying to make sense of the sheer hypocrisy of the unions who do such things.

  • get back to work

  • Is that at petro?

  • gotta love the workin class heroes
