I love this song! It is definatly my favorite choral piece I have ever sung. I agree that the soprano part is really fun to sing! especially because I am a soprano 2 and never get to sing as high as as I can. This is aso the only piece that whie our chior is rehersing, there is no talking. This is because no one wants to ruin the trance this song creates.

@decondemon yeah. My choir derector said that since i got the starting note wrong i cant sing it... Untill i fix it... I was really upset about it because i thought i had done just fine. But i had a lot to work on. It made me very upset. I actually love this song and i just couldnt sing it right in my head so i said that i hated it. :( anyway. Ive never heard of Mozarts Requiem......

@SiyukiNakushi hey dont beat urself up about it. i love loch lomond, but half the time, i shouldnt even open my mouth to try to attempt the solo, because of that same problem. if i dont start out on the right note, it all sucks. but anyway.. lol. what vocal part do you sing? i sing tenor 1 :)

@decondemon I sing Alto. :) I sung the song again to my choir director and he put me back on the part. :) I guess my entire day of obsessing over that one part paid off. :) lol. Yeah. Most of the time i do the same thing, if i cant hit the right note or my voice just doesnt sound right for that day i just dont sing that one section of the song. :/

@vasilis83. I'm looking at the music and the tenors didn't mess up. Perhaps a tenor scooped the note but definately not a full section mistake.

@Pyrotoman maybe. Also at the very beginning "Pulchra" 0:01 and 0:02 listen carefully. There is the same note, but the tenors do not sing it right. Or maybe it is again the same tenor that did the same mistake at 2:01, as you say.

Desert Vista High School has been doing Gjeilo's music for years (we even got a commission of "The Ground,") and each time, I feel like I'm going to cry when I perform it because it makes me FEEL. I don't know if that would make sense to anyone besides someone who has performed his music because it's just so... moving

I think I understand. What I feel when I listen to his music is an ache deep in my chest to the point where if the song was any more beautiful I might just die. In my opinion though that's the best way to go: bliss overload. :)
