Although I've been playing the Mountain Dulcimer for a long time, I always encounter Hammered Dulcimers at festivals I travel to around the country. It's truly an amazing instrument. @kingalex1st the hammered dulcimer is an ancient greek instrument (among with other southern ancient nations). in greece it's still a popular instrument - a girl played it in the olympics ceremony in athens - 2004.the hammered dulcimer has more than one name. there is the santur (the greek one) in india it was called santoor and in turkey santur. the hammered dulcimer is the english name most popular but (due to its roots) most ppl know both names.
