You can't see a light/laser beam from the side. It looks like some kind of plasma beam. If it is alien maybe it had to get close to scan the objects contents and identify it as a nuke. i think you're mostly correct. But I think the picture is much more complicated than that. They clearly show a non-intervention approach, but nukes have the potential to harm them as well. So, they might be doing this while at the same time remaining neutral to us.
But they absolutely, 100% are not trying to destroy us. That is clear. However lots of personal accounts seem to contend that they are more interested in our genetics than our well-being.

some are exploiting us and they want to exploit us to a point of total slavery and control - elements of the 'elite' have sold out to this effect. in regards to genetics read genesis adam and eve and the tribes of isreal - thats why they are intersted in our genetics - we are partly their creations.

You'd think after 60 years guys who look for them as a career would have come across at least one piece of real evidence instead of easily fakable blurry photos and fanciful stories of the smoking gun evidence that just got away. The dog ate my evidence defense can only be invoked so many times before all credibility is lost. I mean, seriously, there were 836 UFO sitings in Canada alone in 2007. And not one unambiguous piece of verifiable physical evidence. Consider me thoroughly underwhelmed.

I guess he's watched too many sci-fi horror movies to consider that if this is advanced life visiting us, they may not be a hostile life. Such rubbish. Since when will aliens be interested on our weapons when they have much more complex and sophisticated technologies than we have.
These guys are just creating stories to avoid the circumstances they were the ones who is basically interested in them at the first place.
