  • Agh! Did I say no eyelid? I meant to say was, no double eyelid...... Gaaah I'm confused..

  • Well.. I'm korean and I'm trying to find out how to to apply eyeliner on and I have no eyelid...... So help plz?

  • i'm proud watching this, cause i'm malaysia :)

  • I'm not even Asian. Why am I watching this?

  • I am asian, but I find that black looks too intense for me. What other colors should I use?Gray, brown, or very dark navy? Thanks.

  • Miss Li from Daria has a similar accent, she must be Malaysian aswell hahahah

  • This was very useful and easy to understand, thank you! <3 Your accent's quite good!

  • i will worship this girl forever.

  • I didn't realise I had Asian eyes until someone pointed it out to me. but now I under stand why most of the time the eye makeup didn't work most of the time. Duh. (I have the first eye shape so does most of my family on one side. We're not sure why.....) So thankyou for uploading. Really helped alot. Will use this technique when I go back in september. Best tutorial. Awesome, thankyou. xxx

  • I can tell talent when I see it. Great work!!!

  • I have no rids to my eyes hahaha it's not easy putting on eye liners. I find it very difficult to do tight lining. Any tips on that? Thank you =)

  • fml. i wish i had monolids. they are so pretty.

  • Your voice reminds me of a funny woman named Mrs. Swan! I think she used to be on mad tv. I hope you don't feel offended by that because i don't mean to sound rude. Anyway thank you for the video it was very informative and helped me a lot! Thanks so much! ( -:

  • this is excellent tutorial.. thanks

  • what if one of your eye is double eyelids and the other one is semi double eyelids? AND YOU WEAR GLASSES. How would you make your eyes look bigger and these make up become more reveal?

  • Whenever I put on makeup, it looks really nice. But if I move like 5 feet away from the mirror, my eyes look terrible... ugly and droopy and just strange. Any tips?

  • loooove it :) thank you

i love Asian especially Korean makeup , it's so natural and elegant ;)

  • wow this waz helpful :)

  • Pff..I'm not asian..but I have this eye shape .. it's weird >_> Gotta ask my mom where she has been 17 years ago T_T

  • That eye looks like Ayumi Hamasaki's

  • HELLP PLEASE?? what would you call it if the distance between the eyebrow and the crease is big?? (basically the opposite of what she said)?? not monolid though, the crease between my eyelid and my lashes is quite short but i dont have a monolid.

  • Very helpful indeed :)

  • Se demoran mucho en pasar las imágenes D;

  • how about down turned eyes?

  • HOly cow this was all REALLY helpful! But it seems like my eyelid changes everyday...like sometimes I have more of a monolid than a double lid, but sometimes I have one of both! Any advice? Thanks :)

  • Very very helpful. Thanks!!!

I love to line my eyes but it never looked right, I'll have to try this. Thank you!!!

  • @taschaeleven I guess you could use eyelid tape on your monolid?

  • umm waht's up with this video?!

ughh waste of my time :(

  • hey I've got a little question... what do i do when I have one really deep double lid and one monolid?...I am really confused sometimes what to do..o.o xD

well, but the video is really helpful and I like it :D

and your voice is cute >.< ^.^

  • very infornative!

  • hahaha the person is funny :)

  • Thanks! This helped me alot ;) and I've been playing with eyeliner for awhile now!

Also, I didn't know you were acquainted with fuzkittie until today. That's so funny! I love her -3

  • thankyouu!

  • Oh! haha I get it now. I just watched that like 6 times, so confused at what you were talking about! The width BETWEEN your inner corners of your eyes is bigger than your eye/smaller. LOL i sounded so dumb!

  • eh i don't get the wide/close set eyes bit?! what do you mean? so your inner corner is bigger than your eye?! WHAT? I'm so confused?!

  • Thank you for this video, I have double lids but really really small. My eyeliner always smudges to the top of my crease. Its so annoying and I am constantly looking in the mirror to check my eyes! Thank you for your help. Hopefully I won't have this problem anymore!!!

  • brilliant tips! thank you!, has anybody sampled Olays new line of products? its not easy to get hold of decent makeup in Midland but i managed to obtain some stunning samples by checking out "Gratis-Makeup-Samples"! there awesome.

  • Terima kasih.

I looked that up. Haha! i love languages. But indeed, thank you. :D

  • I need to find some time to practice this! I never wear eyeliner because I can't do it T_T

  • very very helpful

  • u sound malaysian, am i right?

  • @Zomashu I'm Malaysian, yes. I sound VERY M'sian in voice-overs; less so in LIVE vids...Weird.. ;)

  • @suelynn76 Cool, I grew up in Malaysia in the 90's, but somehow I adopted a american accent, probably from kindergarten teacher. But, very nice tutorial, thanks.

  • @suelynn76

yea me to im malasia half pilipino :) nice 2 meet u :)

  • @Zomashu Im malaysian too! Wish to find more malaysians on youtube. =)

  • i'm not asian but thanks to this tutorial i found out i have double eye lids

    i luv it :))

  • shit, this is sooooo goood! i am so so great full, im not asian, but that makes it better because it makes my regular eyes even bigger!

  • @Aileen2581 Yea, so don't bother watching "her" eventho her boring voice actually gave some good tips LOL

  • @Aileen2581 She sounds like an airline stewardess that talks over on the announcements.

  • @Aileen2581 Your voice must be very interesting... that's why you don't have any uploads.

  • @Aileen2581 shut up! you are just stupid, jealous, and you so are scared and hide behind your computer!!!!

  • @Aileen2581 Does it really matter?? Learn some manners. =_=

  • So I understand that there are different techniques for each eye, but do you like... combine the methods of your eyeshape AND wide/close set eyes? Or just pick one method?

  • @NinjaFreak73 I think it's possible to COMBINE the techniques for sure! Experiment a little, like don't go ALL the way with 2 methods, but tone them down just so they jive together? DO i even make sense? :P

  • @suelynn76 Ah I see, thank you! I'll try experimenting =) This video was extremely helpful by the way

  • my eyelids are uneven :L my left eye is a double eyelid one and my right one is a monoeyelid ans when i wake up in the morning i get tripple eyelids :L

  • very informative and helpful.

  • @crazycookie66 Thanks! Glad to be of help :)

  • I would just like to thank you for a wonderful pic tut that is incredibly helpful for me, even despite the fact I'm not Asian - I just have droopy, very insignificant "double" eyelids. This is absolutely invaluable to me, as even the local magazines don't ever help me make the most of my eyes. Thanks again, and much love from Sweden. <3

  • @sofopete YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! Glad to be of help :) Look up more of my Eye Tuts, and more to come ^_^

  • this looks so good on me. im white but i got my great-grandpa's philippine's eyes.

  • @missfirekracker :D Wow! Best of both worlds! ^_^

  • Bahaha! "It's in like, a gazillion videos on youtube" - sounded like Zoolander lol

Awesome vid. Finally, the right way to do Asian makeup!! They always neglect the Asians in Cosmo and stuff :( Thanks so much! Represent!

  • @piphobbit LOL Thanks! I loved Zoolander - Ben Stiller rocked in it HAHHAHHAH

Thank you for the compliment, dearie...I'm really glad it helped you in some way! I'm trying to show some alternatives to other Asian YT Gurus' methods...Not to mention Cosmo & other Western mags ^_^

  • i put eye liner on but by the end of the day it smudges and is messy. Do you have any suggestions of what eyeliner I should use or just anything?

  • @sakura9943 For upper line, try liquid liner. Or you can use a good primer on upper lid and put eye shadow before and after applying the pencil eyeliner. Check out Jungsaemmool makeup videos. She has some great suggestions.

  • @ji94552 Hi, thanks for replying. Somehow I missed Sakura's Q. I gave my 2-cents worth too :D

  • @sakura9943 try Revlon ColorStay. Its a liquid eyeliner, it doesnt smudge and stays on well. I have it in Blackest Black and its exactly like it says.

  • @yellowbluegreen1111 i agree revlon color stay is the greastest drugstore eyeliner. i bought some it never smudges and its so easy 2 apply!!!

  • Do people use eyeliner on the bottom part of their eyes cause I do

  • @kyoyayukinegi Oh, yes they do... :D I have another vid on Eyeliner 101 and Eyeliner Only Looks

  • What if you have double eyelids but the top eyelid is puffy and it covers the double eyelid a bit? And my crease is very close to my lash line. :(

  • awesome vid

finally found one vid that is actually helping me

  • @KimLuv1st Thank you! Glad to be of help!

  • @KimLuv1st i think so to

  • i love this video it is so rite on! it took me about 2 years to master eyeliner and i had some difficullty with it. because im half japanese half white, i have weird mono eyelide shaped eyes making eyeliner aplication very difficult. i really liked this video and i do the exact tips already coincidently so good job on ur skills their very accurate and well explained

  • @elizacostauyematsu Thanks, dear. Glad to be of help?!?!? Altho you alrady know these techiniques ^_^

2 years? Oh dear, I hope more girls out there with the same problem would somehow discover my vid LOL

  • @elizacostauyematsu I'm eurasian too (half japanese, half portuguese). Other youtube's makeup guru that may help you is Askmemakeup. She's eurasian.

  • ~_~

  • @VULGARIS1901 probally thought you fat how, or chee seen

  • ^_^

  • some girls look better with double but i like alot of chinese girls with single, as long as your eyes are strong and your eyes arent overly small then i prefer mono lids...

especially on men, if you see the hottest coolest men they normally have squinty eyes.. squinty eyes on men are sexy.. i think mono lids are sexy on girls too. just wear black eye shadow..

  • @quickmantan same with me i think monolids look better on an asian man than woman xD

  • Rain's a perfect example *I'm so lame, I know*

  • @quickmantan I agree!! more longer eyes look nicer on guys

they look more sexy and mysterious

I don't like really distinct double lid on asian guys

  • Like Lee Jun Ki's! <3

  • Thanks so much for your videos. I have small monolid eyes and didn't know what to do with it. I've used tips from your videos and it made such a difference. I can actually see my eyes behind my glasses and it still looks pretty natural unlike my high school pic where the makeup person made me look like an opera singer (super duper thick eyeliner).

  • YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! Glad to be of help :)

  • Yes, I did work hard editing. And they're not complicated, if anything, easier to follow.

If you watch my FAQ vid, you'd know why I don't do live tuts.

  • but u must admit that thee models have beautiful eyes shape by themselves, first of all the double lid are very deep and the eyes are very round and big ,fortunately i have double lid but it'isn't enough deep for me,but i never made underline 'cause that's make my eyes still more small!

  • Hhmm...I do have tutorials on girls without double lids or tiny ones...You can watch this too if u want:

PicTut: Eyeliner Tips, Simple "Eyeliners Only" Looks, & More Eyeliner 101s"

  • thank u so much for your advice suelyn!by the way are u a maky up artist?

  • You're very welcome ^_^ FAR FAR from that!

My job has nothing to do with makeup or beauty AT ALL! In fact, I can't wear much in my line of work...Just a hobby :D

  • @jenna6031 if you're referring to a caucasian eyeshape, than comaparing it to our eyeshape is actually big than theirs xD because white ppl have very deep, long, eyes. whereas we hav flat, round, wide, short-lengthed eyes. and i've also know a lot of white ppl who have monolids or semi-lids, that don't look deep, so it jsut depends on a person. becuase i'm viet and i have deep, and a really heavy visible crease for an oriental person. e_e...

  • Really? Obviously you prefer live tuts - there're plenty out there.

If you watch my FAQ vid, you'd know why I don't do live tuts.

  • Awesome!

  • nice :D

  • Thank you! :D

  • Hi! you seem to be very helpful! My question is that I have a half lid and have not experiment much with makeup and is starting to learn. I've tried to use eyeliners, even water proof ones. I've noticed that it smudges underneath my eyes. How do I prevent that?

  • Hiya. "water-proof" does NOT mean "smudge-proof" becoz ur e/lids will also secrete OIL!

Some tips u can try are:

    1. Pencils tend to smudge more. Try a gel or liquid.

    2. Try setting ur e/liner with an e/shadow. The powder e/shadow will help absorb the oil and make the liner last longer.

    3. Also, most people only apply e/primer on the upper lid - u should apply some on the lower lashline B4 your concealer becoz less oil=less smudging :P

  • Thanks!

  • wow! five stars for you! =)

  • Thanks! ^_^

  • Check out my other vids :)

  • Again, excellent and informative video.

  • Yet again, thank you and glad to be of help :)

  • LOL I love you Suelynn: "Oh how the hell is this going to help"

    That was the best part!

  • What can I say? Weird things just pop outta nowhere :P

  • i have a question :o

    If you have monolid eyes,

but when you apply liner, but it doesn't show when you have your eyes open ):

How do you apply eyeliner to actually make it appear?

    D: I have this problem~

  • Hiya,

Try watching my "PicTut: Eyeliner Tips, Simple "Eyeliners Only" Looks, & More Eyeliner 101s".

Basically you use a matte black eyeshadow on ur eyelid until you can see a it when you open your eye.

  • Ooh thanks alot :3

This is the first video that actually makes sense with eyeliner!

  • :D No prob.

You can also use gel liner instead of a matte black shadow, but I just think it looks too harsh for day looks...Just my opinion :D

  • I have a question.

I have double eyelids but at the corner it's like, going up xD if you know what i mean.

i don't really like that so how can you make your outter eye corners go 'down' more? it's really complicated for me cause i tried so many things. thanks! great vid.

  • Hhhmm...Do you mean that your eyes slant upwards like a cat? I meant it in a good way :) Many people try to achieve a cat-eye look!

If you really wanna minimize that slant, maybe try watching my "PicTut: Asian Eye Makeup - Cartoon Inspired Eye Looks" and go for Lady's PUPPY eyed look.

Just adjust how much you need your eyes to go "down".

  • Yes, exactly! Like a cat XD

And the other video didn't really help, i'm sorry. It's just really complicated for me. :(

  • I don't really use makeup but eye liner. This is very helpful! :D Thank you!

  • You're welcome, hun. Glad to be of help

  • Thanks so much for this video! I am definitely going to have to play around with some of these techniques... I am half-Asian, with one eye a monolid in the inner corner and a semi-double lid in the outer corner, and the other eye VERY monolid. The fold actually obscures my lashline in places! Do you have any advice for such a case?

  • Oh dear..You're not the first person to ask me this, so it's actually in my To-Do list...Will get to it...

Be patient yea? Oh my eyes are like you semi-double eye

  • Nice video. It is really detailed. I learned a lot.

  • You're welcome, hun! Glad it helped you :D

  • i have asian eyes & i not asian & i love it !

  • :D You don't have to have Asian eyes to love Asian makeup

Makeup shud be fun and transcend all creeds & races!

  • ughhh i love all kinds of asian makeup but im caucasian and my eyelids arent really 100% caucasian looking really hard to work with hahahah :<

  • Look at the bright side? You have the best of both worlds :D

Just a matter of time when you find what really works for you ^_^

  • Thank you!

  • You're welcome :D

  • oh my god my speaker ..

  • Sowwee...At least it wasn't your "eardrums"?

I got messages that I talk too softly :(

  • that was very helpful . thank you so much ! :DDDDDD

  • You're mucho welcome! :P Watch out for more :P (after my break)

  • I have a double eyelid like the model that you have for the "too far apart" model, and my eyeshadow/liner tends to crease in the inner corners and there's not much i can do about it.. Which of your techniques should i use to kind of avoid this? i use an eyeshadow base and everything already, but it all creases inevitably -___-

  • Hhhmm...What kinda base are you using? TSFI? If so, maybe try UDPP which is geared more for oily lids/eye area?

Or try another type of liner? what kind are you using now?

  • I'm using MAC's Paint Pot in Painterly.. the lady at the MAC counter told me that that was the base to use... but now i know that UDPP is way better -___- *facepalm*

currently i use UD's 24/7 liners.. they're the only liners i use, and i set them with MAC eyeshadows but it still creases :(

  • I have both Painterly and UDPP, both works equally well except Painterly has the added advantage of evening out my lid colour :)

Hhmm...What about MUFE's liners? Some swear on it...Or even Ulta, Revlon and Almay liners?

Or switch to gel - MAC's Blacktrack or Stila's Smudgepot?

  • ooh hahah gotcha. hmm perhaps, i'll consider looking into it if i have the funds to -___- haha oh, the woes of being a poor college student.

Do you think i need UDPP if i already have Painterly? how do they compare to each other?

  • Hhhmmm...MAC PPs crease on some people, especially the matte creamy ones like Soft Ochre, Painterly and Groundwork.

UDPP definitely doesn't crease on me, neither does MAC PPs, but I do like the fact that Painterly evens out my lids and I can skip my usual matte brow highlight :P

  • Hahah okay :) thanks for all your advice!

I like your videos, they're easy to understand and very applicable.

Keep up the good work! you're awesome! don't let anyone ever get you down :]

  • do u reccomend using white liner? i've been thinking about using it..but i'm not sure if it would look harsh or not.

  • Yooh probably can use white . . . i use it sometimes , but if yooh think its too harsh , use a cream or ivory color , and DONT use it on your upper eyelids , only your bottom waterline , it makes your eyes bigger without looking fake .

  • AGREED - My personal fave is Stila's Kajal in Topaz :)

  • @zhanghanfan

I totally agree with PrettyLittleDevilJI. I like Stila's Kajal in Topaz - super soft n doesn't hurt.

  • Thank u!!

  • Welcome!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH. I've been looking for tips everywhere. I have pretty small double eyelids, so I can't wait to try your tricks <33

  • YOU'RE VERY WELCOME! Glad to be of help :)

  • omg i totally love the diagrams u include. its totally easier to follow...and bonus love for the labels (thick/thin)!!!! totally <3 this and all ur other tutorials. suscribed!

  • Thank You Thanks 10Q LOL

I guess this is my niche instead of live tuts

    Thanks for subbing!

  • wow this is so helpful! i have the teeny tiny double eyelids and not many people are even aware that there is such a thing! most people think you're either completely double eye or completely monolid so thank you for noticing them and giving us tips on how to work on that :)

  • Ahhh..We learn something new everyday? Glad to be of help! Watch out for more:D

  • oh wow such a detailed video. thanks for posting :)

  • You're welcome. Glad to be of help.

  • You're amazing Suelynn!

Thanks for your effort on giving us girls lessons on proper make-up. I know you know but just to repeat, you're of great help!More power!

  • Thanks, girlie! Your support and the fact that I'm able to help you guys out makes the effort worth it! :D

  • thank you for doing this video and the others!

  • You're VERY welcome - glad to be of help :D

  • Can you do a request on how to make monolid eyes look bigger without using a ton of makeup? Something clean and natural? For school :D

  • For a super natural look, watch my "PicTut: Asian Eye Makeup 101 Upper Eyelid (Part 1 of 2)".

In the monolid section, I'd choose the Gradate 1 or 2 colour Technique - fast, easy, clean, natural! :D

  • Very good explanations (though require some patience since it's mostly pictures with narration), but nonetheless, very helpful. Thanks!

  • Pros n cons to PicTuts, I guess... :D Patience is a virtue LOL

  • haha yes! thanks, and keep up the nice work :)

  • She has a pretty single eyelid ,

    most just dissapear.

  • Hhmm..That would be a very extreme monolid - hooded in fact.

Still, you just need to experiment with eye makeup application :)

  • Well; my eyes are really weird.

Lol, one eye has a visible eyelid,

then my other often is a monolid

and sometimes it has a single lid.

    It's hard to explain.

Mainly one eye has a lid and the other doesn't.

  • HAHA SAMEEEE. and when i;m tired, i get it on both...

  • Oh. I hear ya. Same with me. My right eye is western and my left eye is Asian. The fold of my left eye doesn't extend to the far corner of my eye. So, I always end up with single eyelid on the left. It's difficult to apply the same makeup look on both eyes.

  • same here :P
