  • omg this horsies r beautifulll

  • i live in friesland where the frisian horses are from. they are sooo beautiful and big. i rode one once and could hardly mount it lol

  • hmm... good... :)

  • Highland pony? Not with the Friesian, really??Would that not, if possible, cut the size down to much?? What is the hand size of the Friesian to begin with? Hard to tell. Have never seen one except in photos.

  • @MsShoosh1 Maybe it`s not as common as i thought but i have seen them crossed with highland--There has been friesians that stood at 14.2hh while they can go up past 17hh but the average size is 15.2hh to 16.2hh and though the highland on them would make them mybe smaller they will better weight carriers

  • Is this a purebred line? I am hearing about cross-overs with other breeds, what is the truth!!

  • @MsShoosh1 These are purebred examples of the breed though your right that alot of them are being crossed,,The TB crossed with the friesian is becoming are very popular choice and i have also heard of a few highland pony cross but its just to make them better for other riding sports etc

  • cool pictures of the horses

  • Yeah you're right they are being bred smaller, my horse's father was a very heavy huge Friesian stallion but Merlyn's mum was a Thoroughbred mare so he is like a lighter version of his father, [in build, he is naturally as black as coal!] I think [despite the fact that I love Merlyn down to his bones] that the original heavy almost draft like Friesian is so impressive looking they are so noble I love them all. Thanks for post C xx

  • im looking for a frisian stalion where you located and how much for.

    mail. ayalajai@prodigy.net.mx

  • Absolutely my favorite breed but it seems they have been bred down in size. Originally a very tall 17+ hands now you see them 15.3,- 16.3. They were used to carry soldiers with all the metal gear in anciant times and were VERY large, closer to 18 hands and very stocky, more like a draft. I'm sorry to see them smaller =(

  • @canterrob123 I agree,,I love the big chunkier types but there soo thinner like these day`s.

same thing happened to the clydstale

  • WOW,they are gorgeous, they look so spiritual and look like a free soul...

  • aren't black horses called horse niggers?

  • The Andalusian horses are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and seen them perform, lived in South Miami, where there are a lot of them, they are really breath taking horses in looks and show.....

  • @Duke24JG what color are they?

  • friesians his one van the beautiful horses of the world !

  • i looking for a pure frisian horse

    ayalajai@prodigy.net.mx

  • @quantumcelaya google in friesians4all as they sell them though i dont know if its any good or not

  • @quantumcelaya

In that case you need to visit the North of the Netherlands.

    That's their origin

  • @quantumcelaya Go to equine.com there are quite a few listed!

  • i want one!!!!!

  • They are all so beautiful!!! :)

  • need some music

  • So gothic looking! I love all that hair, I wish my hair looked like that.

The only Freisian I've seen in person was a jouster at a Scottish festival. The horse looks really cool with the midieval tack and a knight riding them.

  • Yeh I dunno what they are on about. What's a fake? But I do disagree with the height. My filly sire is a Friesian and he's 16.1

  • Yey i know and yey sorry i made a mistake with the height--of course they can go frommin 15hh to over 17hh

  • I don't understand dotn hahah :-)

  • what a fake...

  • why is it a fake...-i dotn understand that haha

  • stolen fotographs

  • oh they ar so cute so adorablexoxoxoxoxox

  • I love FRESIANS!! \o/

  • stunning horses

  • FRIESIANS FOREVER!

    I LOVE THEM!

  • me too *-* Friesians are so cool and beutiful <3

  • i think the chestnut is not a pure breed friesian

  • Friesians are beautiful

but theyre always black...dunno where the chestnut came from

    lovely pics ^^

  • by the way that msg was 2 rhi143.

  • I have neva seen a chestnut friesian! R u sure it wasn't an Andalucian?

  • Sorry if i sounded arsey i didn't mean it 2 x

  • nah dont worry i didnt think it sounded arsey-i am glad you told me thanks

  • Why does it say at the end 14.3-15.3 we have a friesian whos 17hh!!!

  • yey sorry i realised i put that at the end.

i was thinking about another breed when i wrote that.

YEY so people friesians are from 14.3hh and can go up to as what loz21xx says 17hh.

    sorry again

  • you can get chestnut friesians too! I love these animals my friend has one with sweet ich she has No mane at all but still pretty!

  • No music? It´s silly...

  • Well, the way they're built with the high extended neck and the peppy short back, they are not so much a western horse, if you want a curve scratcher!!!They are great for outdoor riding (of course you can do that in a western way) and dressage. I'm a classical dressage rider and i got a friesian mare , she's perfect for that. Never really seen too much Friesians doing western, but maybe there are some, i don't know !! But if i wanted to ride western i'd rather take a quarter!!

  • r these good western horses too

  • they can do anything prob like any horse-there good weight carriers so prob yey

  • i luv these photos of the friesian horses they have my vote and so do u keep up with good work

  • I agree... great pics/vid! And yes, adding music would definitely enhance. :-)

  • Beautiful pics but needs music

  • I will have a friesian someday :D

  • i love freisians:

at my old riding school there was a freisian called Splodge, so called coz he litrally Splodged you on the ground!!

He was good to handle though.

  • very beatifull, but the arabian horses are more beatifull I think

  • i used 2 have a friesian, called Janosch, pronounsed yahnosh, (german lol) he was 16.3 and huge, but so comfortable i miss him =[

  • theres a friesian on my yard called Mika, and he is HUGE.

  • CAN YOU RIDE A FRIESIAN WESTERN????

  • i think so-any horses can ride western-i saw a video with one on riding it so yey hahaha

  • awsome!!

  • Can Friesians jump. yes they can. like all breeds some better than others and some high! however don't seem to be jumped a great deal! as best know for there amazing trot and trainability. i ride/train/breed Friesians and have seen and know some that have been successfully evented!

  • the Friesian today is more of a warmblood than the traditional cold bloods. they used to be more heaver (14-15.2hh) and breed as a work horse for farms and then more a cold blood. Today however they are being breed more lighter and taller .. aver 16+ hh (some even reach over 17hh). there popularity for being a great dressage horse has moved to the lighter breeding. hence now more a warmblood

  • this breed is new to the performance side of things and have only really been purposefully breed for this in the last 15 years or so.

give this breed some time and they'll show the world the wonderful performance horses that they can be!

  • Thanks hannah-i thought that too

  • A Friesian is not a coldblooded breed. It's an old warmblood breed. Sorry for being a smart aleck though.;-)

  • oh right well-tell you the truth i am trying to find out aswell but no i would say jumping but not high unless there a light weight ones but not as high but cross with a throughbred which are popular can jump quite high too

  • u need music and transitions it will rlly help

  • are these horses heavy like draft horses? are they a cold or hot blooded horses? and could they jump good at all?

  • no there more into like dressage but they do have big feather feet.

    cold blooded

they could jump like light weighted ones-i want a jumpign one-i think they could.

  • do you think they would be average or very good like hanoverians?

  • what do you mean

  • like do you think they would be average at jumping, like not jumping high but still jumping, or jumping really high like hanoverains, which are types of horses

  • What a beauty this horses is sooooooo beautiful I think the horse says it all it doesn't need any music the pictures are real beautiful. :-)

  • thanks-yey i think so too

  • Music would make this video awesome
