Love this. I remember getting MSR on day launch way back in November 2000 after waiting months for it, this used to be on the Dream On Demo disc in the Tokyo Asakusa Demo too. Amazing upload thanks :)
tinyurl com/3942zxz Is my rip. Method: Extracted data from GD, extracted audio data from container, converted using tools to WAV, converted to 192Kbps MP3.
This single game was my early childhood. I remember playing it while I was 3 years old, curious to know what was behing the "World Champion" chapter... My Dreamcast broke a few years ago, so I didn't had the chance to complete it. I wish they'd launch this game on Xbox Live like they're doing with Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi, so then I could finally complete the game =(
Man i remember playing this game when my cousin had the dreamcast unfortunately, he had to sell it for other purposes. Sonic Adventure, Sega GT, Dead or Alive, House of the dead, and Power stone where the games that was rockin' in 99' nostalgia, R.I.P Dreamcast.
Premature and used a proprietary format which worked against it. Waiting another year to release something more powerful would have given Sega a better shot at staying in the console market.
But at this time many people were waiting for the Ps3, it's a bit like the 360, a good console but at its launch many people were like "we don't care, Ps3 will 10 times better"
Maybe the Dreamacst would have had the destiny, even with one more year to prepare the console
They did the same thing with the Saturn though, cartridges were hugely limiting as Nintendo also discovered. The difference is Sega didn't have Zelda, Mario etc to sell units for them.
Sega had some good titles on the DC, but not nearly enough to hold their own. Relying on a few like Sonic Adventure, Virtua Tennis, MSR and Soul Calibur to sell the platform was not a sound long-term plan. The popularity of DVDs meant a boost for the Xbox and PS2 (the latter *still* gets new titles).
this game was great on the Dreamcast which luckily i still have. as Geforce mentioned the game uses the internal clock 2 make it 'real time'. but yh great game brings back memories

A very great theme, though the theme you have uploaded is good, it is not a high-quality direct rip from the GD-ROM, and is played at a faster speed.

I do wonder if bizzare creations forget what a masterpiece this game was
PGR was still good... but to this it stands out as a "meh"
maxfromtamworth 1 year ago 4
@maxfromtamworth I still wish they remake a game that simple, focused on driving and sliding
PGR is good, but it has gone a little bit far from the original simplicity of the game.

Yes, the music (and the game it self) rocks so hard !
It has no Ferrari, no Porsche like most recent PGR, but it's a lot of fun !
Plus it has day and night cycle ! Dreamcast was really ahead of it's time :'(
