first sequence is from day before (force6B0 when we resigned, then comes next day with force 5B which was acceptable :)This year we've been sailing many hours at force 4-5B but off-wind, but thats the limit for Pjoa
this proa has been designed to sail up to force 5B. It is the sea, and not wind which makes sailing hard. One can sail at force 6B with e.g. smaler sail. Higher seas and steepy waves slows you down (upwind) or accelerates too much (downwind). I never was at see 10B, 8B is enough
those are my own plans, there is new version under development. Are you going to build one?

It's always a good day of sailing when at the end everyone still has all their fingers and toes and nobody died.

How do you tack?
aihlo 3 years ago
Proa neither tack r gybe.
Proa change tacks by shunting.
Bowe and starn exchange funtion. Otrigger stays on windward side.
Crabclaws leading edge(yard) travels from previous bow to previoous stern.
Old stern becomes new bow.
You sheet in and go.

Was the weather a little bit stormy that day? It looks quite dangerous to swim in Baltic sea.

Is it so hard to sail at 6-B, what about 10-B is it possible in the Baltic sea? Have you every experienced anything like this?
