  • shit people would think "fuck this car cuz if its not a Camaro it's not a car, and I dont care if it's economical. The less economical the more horsepower and the better. Cuz I'm an American chevy lover and I hate economical Japanese imports and I only choose supercharged V8". We need this car if we wanna breathe! k maybe I was too biased.

  • theyre only leasing 3 years because its probably gonna get shot down like the EV1. when will people learn this is the alternative to the future.

  • Hydrogen is the most abundant gas in the universe so we will never run out.

  • THIS THING HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 4 FUCKIN YEARS!!! WHAT THE FUCK!

  • I thought we were going to hear the engine sound...

  • it really did sound like the announcer said the recyclable fabric was made of porn. now that's a car (i'm going to assume he actually said corn)

  • WOW FUCKEN WASTE OF MONEY GET A MERCEDES OR A BMW.

  • Probably most americans are thinking right now GO HUMMER! what a pity!

  • i just fell in love ... gotta love honda cas - i love their designs

  • i hope if it really that good the authority should speed up, change the world. Sell the car at cheaper prices and setup more pump station.

  • considering that you can burn hydrogen, i think it would be much better to tune the engine to burn the hydrogen instead of it going to electricity. it would also mean that if you cant reach a hydrogen pump you can fill up with regular.

  • It is up to us the consumers to demand products. If we Dont buy they wont produce... think twice on what you are supporting before you spend your hard earn money. Lets help the movement rather than investing in dead end technology (oil).

  • accident and BOOOM...hydrogen very explosiv...why not sell??? like EV1 and Rav EV is only for leasing...to bad ...in 1 or 2 years is out...arni0202 is right...

  • This is the future.... But not the foreseeable future. Ever seen Who Killed the Electric Car?

Our government is not going to allow this tech to creep into mainstream until the last drop of oil is sucked from the earth. Greed/Corporations/Capitalism/USA

  • @arni0202 true

  • What a superb car! Honda may have pulled out of F1 but they have save the world!

  • good thing is you can make hydrogen atr home with tap water and dont need to go to hydrogen pumping stations

  • Well, you're right in that respect. As long as there is any petroleum or coal left in the ground, the earth will have to deal with the pollutants we generate from using it... cause people will never give that stuff up... but, it will run out eventually, which will force them to do something. Course, the world might drop into total chaos when the pumps stop bringing up oil suddenly, with nobody having made enough effort to switch away from it. But we'll see how it all works out eventually.

  • Honda has developed the next generation of solar hydrogen station

Honda developed the next generation of solar hydrogen station Honda 28, developed a next generation hydrogen station using solar power for homes, announced that it has begun field trials in the United States.

  • Fuck the CRZ, RELEASE THIS CAR AND LOBBY CONGRESS TO MAKE OIL COMPANIES TO FUCKING START MAKING HYDROGEN STATIONS IN METROPOLITAN AREAS!

  • @senser1080

I like your attitude. The only thing preventing the success of cars like the FCX Clarity is the lack of abundant fuel up stations.

  • @senser1080

I know what you mean, but I doubt this car will go big in the US for a long time. The goverment knows that if you release the genious of this Japanese car into American streets, Ford, Christler, and Chevy are fucked.

  • @senser1080 not going to happen. big shot business dicks and US GOVT got too much invested in oil, and wont let oil commodity crash...

  • These type of vehicles should be supported by all goverments...it will save the earth.smokeless means clean air...

  • @MrRey904 your are naive ppl! Everyone understands that! Even arab sheikhs who shit in gold toilets bought on oil money. BUT since we have corrupted goverments, we will never see electic cars on our roads

  • @VIDEOZAL until we run out of oil*

  • @arni0202 that's like a part of the same story)) till we have a corrupted goverments and till the oil prices are high.

  • Hydrogen Fuel cell cars can be refilled at home. Never go to "Gas Station Again"

  • This is stupid... We are using more fossil fuel to create hydrogen, and for what?? for hydrogen to cost the same as gasoline? The environment isn't being saved by this, and neither is your pocket book. The first electric car was created over 100 years ago, why not perfect THAT technology??? SHEESH

  • Response to wpederson1. Wrong! Next week I will be meeting someone who has a fully commercial and available as well as affordable way to produce hydrogen on demand with zero emissions! Yes, it is 100% off the grid...you can power your house and your car...fully. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX...THEN SPEAK.

  • Or methane cars. A great natural source of methane is a cow's digestive system. Imagine field after field of cows with "selective diaper/balloon" contraptions attached to the posterior portion of the cow's person. Heck, why stop at cows? Pigs, rats snakes and people all fart too. We could attach a similar device to some mouths and in those cases realize a forty to fifty fold output of waste gas production. Depending on how many pigs, snakes and rats there are that talk too much, of course.

  • OH CAL HUH?

That's Great! Only 1 of the 50 states in America. Good job Congress!

Way to push the issue from oil companies!

  • 2015? pfff THAT is pathetic and not Japanese at all! (always on time, reliable and fast) way too slow, why 2015? why's it gonna take so long and what do you think about this?

  • what's taking them so long to allow the rest of the world to by these? just build those H20 fuel stations in most busy places... have Japan even had em yet? Honda being a mainly Japanese company and really good for technology =/

  • The nation of NORWAY and the State of California are working on their hydrogen highway.....

The latest information is that by 2015 we will all

be able to buy hydrogen fuel cell cars.......

  • no more taking the bus if i get this car =)

  • this clx clarity honda is cool car

  • They should give us all a honda fcx for free

  • if hondas a gambler, (assuming hydrogen stations are nationwide) itll sell these cars for a real low price, take the revenue hit for a year or 2 but itll own the market for the rest of time if the fcx takes off. im a muscle guy but ill go with this

  • no way, more over they'll take them back like they did with EV1

  • lol then everyone would make a big deal about socialized vehicals. idiots.

  • the chevy will go agaist the honda fcx clarity ?

  • lexus because its a lexus

  • The Honda FCX Clarity is a futuristic car. Interior is clean and well lit. Using Hydrogen fuel cells is another great alternative.

  • I really hope this works. I look at this beyond all the "green" bs propaganda. It is a great ENGINEERING achievement. Not some dumb marketing gimmick influenced my external interests. It should save us by the time we run out of oil. I am all for it.

  • I appreciate Japanese engineering who make better cars for the future. this is a great idea, if you can lower the cost I'm sure that many people will support it.

  • unfortunately the reason that they are only on lease is because those fuel cells and hydrogen converters are still nasa priced..

  • Clarity needs 17 inch wheels for it to be kickass. The next generation 2013 Clarity is gonna be so kickass!

  • no more 2010 camaro??

    **eyes water**

  • Comment removed

  • Why do Chevy like to use Spanish names for their cars? America is NOT a Spanish country. Spanish names can go BACK to Spain where they belong! Anglo power! Go Clarity kick da Camaro Spanish ass!

  • Trans Am?

  • hydrogen fuel cell car will never work

  • it will. I hope you still alive to see it

  • you don't get it when you take electricity to make hydrogen then turn it back into electricity that will cost more than just putting the electricity in the car in the first place

  • Whether it costs more or not a pure electric car cannot be refueled quickly and if hydrogen fueling systems become the norm then electric won't be able to cope with longer commutes or road trips whereas the hydrogen cars will.

  • Retard... the whole point of this is to find alternatives to gasoline! Because Hello! The world is going to run out of the natural gases sooner or later! (Estimated around 2040-2050)... So we better start developing something... before the gas is already gone and the world is thrown into whack. Thank You Japanese Engineering!

    Loyal Nissan/Infiniti Owner!

  • @TractorLick101 america came first with GM Hywire

  • Its an Electric car lol. The hydrogen motor fuels an eletric motor.

  • i'm not really too informed about alternative fuels but just in my opinion i would prefer a combustion engine which runs on hydrogen. i no hydrogen is flamable, so if someone could create an engine to which the hydrogen is injected into the cylindar as petrol is and then ignighted which moves the piston etc i would prefer it more, i like driving stick lol i'm a huge fan of hydrogen and think that everybody should begin to adopt it, either as fuel cell like this or my crazy combustion engine lol

  • A hydrogen combustion engine is certainly possible, and has been done before by BMW, etc., but it comes with certain caveats. Hydrogen has a lower energy density than gasoline, so you would need much more hydrogen to get the same efficiency. Also, combustion of hydrogen combined with oxygen from the air can produce nitrous oxides and smog, so this is not a viable long-term option to gasoline's pollution. For this reason, fuel cells avoid this problem and are seen as the way to the future.

  • ok cool thanks for the info

  • Wow, beautiful design..can hardly tell it's something "special" under the hood! Honda's got style in its recent models. Nice! Hope i'll get to drive one of these soon (and afford one too if i'm lucky!) I think this is what the future of automobile should be like..sexy cars with no toxic emission!

  • are they all maroon?

  • I can wait....I want this car.

  • to bad you cant afford it!

    LOL

    :P

    XD

  • Ummm...yeah...too bad that "YOU" can't afford it!!! LMFAO...

  • haha lol

    XD

    :P

  • The future should be electric, hydrogen fuel cell and leastly bio fuels. I like the FCX but I do not see why it has to look unappealing. There are many ways to design a car. Interior is futuristic, clean and sharp with easy blue lighting. Parts of the interior of the FCX is made corn oil instead of petroleum.

  • it looks super appealing to me... lol... Car of new gen.

  • How does it look appealing to you?

  • How does it doesnt look appealing to you? IMHO, it's aedynamically designed. I like the front silver plate since so far, no other car has it.

  • The shape is awkward, not easy to the mind. In sum, cars of the past look awkward. Front is flat and pointy, back is bigger and shorter.

  • I guess that's your opinion. Haha. There are so many cars, you will find one suuits u but not this one. But I realy hope to have this. Dont take it too seriously, unless you can make it. Life is full of trade-off. Lol..

  • What is real? A bright face leading favortism and more feeling. Clean when met dirty may follow. Dirty when met clean more likeness of following. Solid when met cheap may laugh. Blue Led light when met amber light will want bright led light. A 12 year old likes to eat peaches more than apples.

  • you are demonstrating wisdom.

  • The Honda FCX is a great car. HydroElectric is a great addition to the future of automobile transportation for people.

  • Regarding our conversation over 18 months ago. I have a question. Between peaches and apples, which tastes better to you?

  • What does aedynamically mean?

  • its cool

  • this is the future

  • detroit3 is behind again

    sinking Like A Rock

  • i want to buy one now

  • sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • from far it looks like a 2009 corolla

OR the new corolla looks like it

  • I'm sure if Honda wanted to exchange a little top speed or range, for extra acceleration, they could have. Just like any ordinary engine. The car does not "suck ass", as you put it. It matches athe performance of an ordinary family car, and is a major breakthrough. Better will almost certainly come in the near future. Please try to be intelligent enough to realise that.

  • Why do you suppose Honda has not engaged in the home hydrogen gas process that would allow owners to make their own Hydrogent Gas alla Mike Strizki? Just wondering why wouldn't they think going in that directions wouldn't make them the market leader in a hurry.

  • A while ago this car included a home hydrogen station called 'Phil' but that quietly dropped off the face of the earth....

  • If they included it, big oil will put a price for the head of the owner of the FCX it will be true lol.

  • the Honda FCX Clarity is a publicity stunt. if it wasn't you'd have to buy it. the car makers are very secretive about how much it is costing to build just one of theses cars. on average the cost is a cool million. this car suks ass.

  • Thats because this technology is still developmental - in the non military world anyway...

  • This is a family sedan, not a goddamned dragster

  • wow..your a complete...100% moron....this isnt a gasoline powered car dumbass!...its for optimum environmental intentions...why do you exist?

  • @rctsos

He is a Japanese nationalist troll.

Always flattering Japan product, Always insult Korean product.

    Don't listen this stupid asshole.

  • I sure hope they will be affordable and sexy looking soon :) I'd buy one for sure :D

  • Hmmm Hydrogen Fuel Cells or Natural Gas Vehicles...It'll be interesting to see which fuel source ends up being the victor in the battle...though both types of cars are available by honda (Honda FCX Clarity and Honda Civic NGV).

  • Does the FCX Clarity have a petrol like transmission? 6 gears manual or automatic?

  • no it just has drive neutral and reverse. It has enough torque that it doesn't need a lot of gears so it only has one moving engine part..extremly reliable and an amazing technological achievement!

  • Availabe for lease NOW and maybe in prduction? wow

    GM is behind again.

the VOLT Hybrid is already 14 years behind the Japanese Hybrids

yes thats over a decade behind

  • they should be mass producing these fucking cars by now.

  • Lack of Oil company support means lack of Hydrogen fueling station. Hence it's only available for Lease in california. And cost of one of these thing are $94000USD. It will just takes time for the cost to drop. Much like the once amazing DVD player used to be $1000USD now can be have for $45USD at your local Walmart.

  • It will come soon though. We sent man on the moon. Almost an impossible task. This not really rocket science. With Obama in there and made his priority for oil for independence, it will come sooner than you expected. Goodbye Middle Eastern oil and Venezuelas Chavez. You could turn off your oil pipeline spigot. We will not need it!!! Fuckers!!!!

  • Check out the Mike Strizki videos on this site. He has a car that works on Hydrogent and has had it for years. He also has a way for each of us to get hydrogen gas from Solar sources which also purify water. Hope to hear how you liked the vids.

  • Man, Once these cars become commercial Im going to so buy a honda accord fuel cell. Or Acura TL Fuel Cell. It will be the greatest. I cant wait.

  • To run a hho cell you need electricity! This car turn Hydrogen into Electricity to run a Electric Motor ? (electric vehicle) .This is not a combustion Engine (no pistons)..

  • And not to mention that the only thing that comes out of the tailpipes is pure water. It's quiet, and has 136hp give u a range of 650km driving. Pure energy efficent and 0 emission.

  • There is no combustion Engine in that Honda!(EV)....

  • $600/month lease...just like the movie "Who killed the electric car". Car companies won't sell them because they are afraid people will upgrade or modify it to be more efficient. And that was why they are on lease so they can take it back.

  • Yeah, it's not like each car costs a few hundred thousand dollars or anything....

  • no its on lease cause in 4 years there will prob be an even better safer way to store hydrogen so honda is basically making sure you're not screwed when the next gen comes out...

  • indeed hydrogen fuel will give you a bigger bang for your buck- both metaphorically and literally.

itll save the environment but i hope to god people drive more safely in these things cause the fuel is one of the most if not the most volatile fuel.

  • How do you turn hydrogen into electric??(Honda FCX)

  • Wiki, Fuel Cell

  • Yeah i've made three(dry hho cell). The Question is: How Do You Turn Hydrogen in Electricity ??.Because the Honda has a Electric Motor (Warp9 Motor)......

  • Sorry, not trying to be rude but I realy don't get your question. If you have made fuel cells before, then I'm sure you know how it converts H2 into electricity and H2O?

I guess I dont understand what you mean by 'How Do You Turn Hydrogen in Electricity'.. Do you mean, 'How Do You Turn Hydrogen in to Electricity'? or do you mean something else?

In Honda FCX or any fuel cell cars, you store the Hydrogen in H2 absorbing polymer/alloy or a normal Gas tank.

  • Lol maybe it's me lol.Ok, i use a 12 VDC Battery (car battery) to run my hho dry cell in combination with Fuel (Petrol)to improve combustion. This car has a Electric Motor (EV),a Warp 9 Motor(or similar)it is not a Engine !.So my Question is: how do you turn Hydrogen into Electic to run a electic MOTOR?

  • Ok, I'm not quite sure what hho dry cell is... Maybe you can explain what it does on your next post? (I wiki'ed it but nothing came up)

well in a fuel cell, you don't need and battery.

What it does is that it has a platinum catalyst which basically splits a Hydrogen (H2) into 2H+ and 2 electrons. where this electron can be used to drive the motor. The electron comes back into the fuel cell to combine H+ and oxygen to produce water. Jope this helps but more on wiki :P

  • Ok Thanx Solid polymer fuel cells (platinum salt)are anticipated to serve as electric energy supply sources in various fields such as power source for automobiles because they can start and generate electricity at a temperature as low as room temperature.samuraixsamurai Simply Type in hho dry cell into Youtube. And Thanx again....

  • Each of you can contact Mike Strizki and get the information you need.

  • Check out the site on YOUTUBE by Mike Strizki.

  • ....... honda has already been running crash tests with the car for years now. im pretty the chances of it exploding won't be anymore then that of gasoline.. which is also flammable and is also residing in the back of your cars ...

  • fine gasoline is also flammable and explosive, however an exploding tank of hydrogen will make a much BIGGER BANG.

  • This car is really good. Hydrogen is the future, I not intrested in those who think we should stay with petrol, as this technology needs to be developed, released and developed more as the technology advances :). By having greener cars we can have a fuel that won't run out, cleaner air, a better enviroment and help those in worser of countries as well, as they will not have to deal with the full hit of climate change (which includes us as well).

  • oh that's sensible. Half of Africa is facing starvation, whilst Honda needs to grow fields of corn to make their interior upholstery. Nearly as bad as bio-fuels.

  • well thats all very nice, but what the hell happens when some drunk trucker slams into the back of you and with sparks flying ruptures your tank of compressed hydrogen. Forget about the LHC Collider, the Honda Clarity might create a second Big Bang!!!

  • a drunk trucker slamming into the back of you will kill you with or without the hydrogen tank. might as well go through the pearly gates with a bang...

  • yea, and take out most of the surrounding traffic as well. And if those happen to be carrying compressed hydrogen tanks too in a motorway pile up scenario forexample, well you can just imagine the chain reaction.

I know your all dogooders and want to save the planet(btw the planet is not going anywhere) but your going to have to face it, this particular design is not going to succeed is it.

  • didn't you know petrol was flammable?

wow you must have been driving a tricycle for a 100 odd years.

  • I NEVER SEEN Honda's gasoline fule vehicle, it explore as fire bumb on accident seen. Again, never. :) However, I seen on other auto maker co. vehicles. and that's a true.

  • I am interested in this..how big of a bang would it be? like a hydrogen bomb?

I've heard that hydrogen power can be about 26 times that of petrol, which would explain the big bang...

It's just sad to see this technology being so rare and ex pensive, when there's much cheaper version out there that could go mainstream.

    sigh, geopolitics...

  • no not like a hydrogen bomb. It would be a chemical level explosion rather than nuclear. But a faster more violent reaction that petrol.

  • Relax. I don't blaim you because human never experment before, use hydrogen as a fule for the vehicle. Always stick with Gasoline but gamble for when explore on you. Fortunatly, Honda engneers and scientists are know it all. So, kick back and relax. :)

  • Honda ??!! Nooooo.

  • Those puns are getting on my nerves...

  • I'd like to buy that and hydrogen production isn't proplem. Just need to make powerfull solar powered hydrogen generators to stations and there is no need to transport hydrogen like diesel or petrol. Then hydrogen would be cheap. That car could be in our country for sale but only stop is our counrty tax. Need to pay hig prizes to use that. So unfair.

  • Last time I checked the $600 a month price tag included insurance as well, does anyone know if they changed that?

  • no and they are sold out

  • Is that a no they didn't change it? And that's pretty quick. This is actually the only Honda car I would probably buy. Too bad they are only selling them in california.

  • well they sold out this car before the car even was finished

  • Damn, just like the Tesla. And american motor companies say no one wants a alternative fuel powered car.

  • But is it rent? 600$ rent? Where to buy? no rent!

  • As far as I know, you can't buy one, only lease one.

  • They will not release this, search "GM EV1"

the electric car will never be produced.

  • This is an incredible car! My hope is that the world makes a push towards Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars. I think some major cities have fuel cell buses for public transportation. Pretty neat!

beaumec242: It must be a blast repeatedly flaming others by saying that they like to be raped and mentioning male genitalia every chance you get, huh? Remember, this is the internet, we don't give a fuck. Also, you might want to learn proper grammar and spelling before you get into middle school.

  • incredible !!!!!!!!!

  • hehehe..this stupid ignorant people...idiots...

  • thats sad i bet your both grown ass men fighting like 2 year olds im 16 and i even know better now both of you get off each others daddys cock and GROW THE FUCK UP!!!

  • Hey, beaumec242 & riomljr! I think serious arguments is what most of us - and presumably you too - prefer to be confronted with here.

I think the Clarity is one of the not so many ways in the right direction.

  • yeah but it's better than a gasoline powered car though. i mean it may not be perfect but it sure is a big step ahead and it may slowly start to lessesn oil consumption here in america.

  • no i'm not you!!

  • HAHAHA Petroleum free....except for all the plastics used in the car.

  • You know the best thing for people to do is search and believe in what they think is true. for 100 years people have said oil was good. well now we know its not.

so poeple, search youtube and do it, convert your cars, and then decide what is right for you. the world will never let you have free energy. if you want it for free you have to convert your house to run on solar and wind, and your car to run on something other than bought fuel. then you will be free in a few years time.

  • and compare that to using electricity to make it at home or anywhere you are, you can use radio frequency to make it as well. ITS 100 TIMES MORE EFFICIENT. so these crazies need to stop promoting oil. and honda needs to make a home generator. OR you should buy one from china yourself.

  • you can make hydrogen from free sources, wind , solar, wave. then its free, you can make it from electricity using low amounts of electricity using the meyers method, search for it on youtube. and hydrogen is 3 times more powerful than oil. now think of all the energy spent finding, taking it out , and transporting it and then protecting the oil countries.

  • meyers was a scam artist. Your just trying to get commission from those STUPID HHO kits

You can never get back the full amount of energy you put into anything. Thats thermal dynamics. Claiming some schmuck in his garage has done what scientist have been trying to do for the past 100 years is a joke.

Yes you can use wind to or solar to make hydrogen gas but a much better use would use that wind or or solar to charge a EV. Youll get get back over 60% of the energy earth gave you

  • the point is that an only electric vehicle has a shorter range and an hyrogen powered car has more range AKA more useful.

  • The range is directly related to the size of its battery. They have technology to recharge a battery in a matter of minutes i could see a future where instead of gas stations we have charging stations. Modern batteries they can take as many amps as you can dump into them.

95% in under 10 min not bad for a 32KWh battery

  • But batteries have poor range and batteries develop is slow.

  • not really in 10 years the price and weight of batteries have dropped by more than half.

  • How do you prove that they will develop so fast?

  • Lets see for 100 years batteries needed Lead or nickel and both pretty much sucked.

Now in the past 10 years the energy density has dropped in half as has the price its called looking up LiFeP04 batteries

  • this is completely stupid to say "petroleum free future"

hydrogen is produced with crude oil so get your facts straight, reporter

  • umm.. no it's not. hydrogen is the most abundant element in outer space!! and i don't think that aliens in outer space burn crude oil to develop the hydrogen. so i think you should get your facts straight!

  • you are the alien here,on earth hydrogen isn't found in its purest form,it's always combined with another thing like water h20 or crude or methan CH4.We are on earth and not in outer space so think a little bit before talking crap.

So you should learn chemistry to understand before you criticize.

  • Learn chemistry? I did 'learn chemistry' as it is a subject that i enjoy. the methods that you name are not i repeat are not the only ways of achieving hydrogen! but if YOU want to be ignorant about it just as all of the U.S. has been ignorant about this war then YOU go ahead dunbass!!!!!

  • wow ok... yeah you're really mature! you're ignorant just like the rest of the people in america!! which is why the euro is worth more because in europe there aren't as many ignorant turds such ass you! you get mad becuase i simply did not explain another way to attain hydrogen? just like a child! that doesn't get his fucking little bottle in time! go suck your moms tit you immature childish fool!
