Why do some Mercs not have a mint mark? I found a '43 last month with no mint mark.

@johnsonthehunter It denotes the area of issue. In some cases fewer coins were minted in a specific year compared to other mints. Making that issue more collectable and as you say rare.

little tip=clean the coin back at home with water ect,ect.because when you try to see what it is with your cloves,you scratch the coin..

Yes I know but I get all caught up in the moment shooting the video. So far I have only found 1 semi key coin - a 1918 SLQ in perfect condition but I gouged the heck out of it diggin in heavy roots, its on one of my videos somewhere on here. Thanks for the comment.

With all those teen's coins. I would look at that area very careful could have a 1916 D merc somewhere.

Yea she has an Ace 250, I have found lots of great stuff with mine, checkout my older videos as they are all with my Ace 250.

Yes my 250 is in the mail I hope. The seller hasn't emailed me that he has mailed it. But I know I won the auction and for a grand total of 168. I should have a Ace 250 delivered. I have been carving the earth up with a BH discovery 2000 it finds stuff deep but difficult to pinpoint with. No silver yet with this detector but I keep trying until the ACE arrives.

If the ACE isn't as goos as they claim I am off to a new Tesoro a nice simple machine.

nice one, the ceramic jar looks a bit like a chinese ginger jar. the vaseline one looks like some ive found here, its doesnt by chance say "chesebrough new york" does it?
