  • why can't they do thing like this anymore

  • I like SKA bouncin' as well!!

in my shoes with bouncin' soles!!

  • Dr. House on a Bass?

  • why are all of americas shows fucking retarded...

  • Amazingly funny. loved it

  • Why, in a song about bouncing, was Pamela Stephenson not on stage?

  • One of the best British Comedy shows ever made!!!

  • so irritating that you cant get any not the nine o'clock news CDs, only vinyls

  • quality

  • Very ska-ish, reminds me of Madness and The Specials

  • @QueenWillNeverDie Yeah, t's a parody of ska bands of that era with the clothes, the dancing, the inane lyrics, the token black guy and the catchy tune.

  • @Suriel1981 That's why it's so lovely! :D

  • as a ska lover... i love this!

  • Very 80's.

  • Does anyone think the black man on drums looks like the man who played "Meat Pie"? In Desmonds?

  • @Buddy Fantastic, this was released on the program's LP. I was introduced to it by a British friend when it came out, but the joke of this tune was lost on me at the time because the U.S. did not experience the ska revival. I discovered the ska revival bands when I hit college in the fall of '83 and then I went, "Oh! This is what that 'Bouncing' song was about!" Love it!

  • great song!!

  • This song is REALLY addictive. I found myself singing this song out loud on the train to work this morning...

  • Lol that trampoline guy on background made my day

  • i dont livin in enland but i admit this awsome and its catchy :D

  • well ya wana try ta shit n bounce its really quite a larf !!

  • one for Tanja

  • Does anyone have the clip of Griff doing an impression of Donald Sinden ???

  • the specials should have done covered this

  • I know it's a piss take, but i reckon they should've released this as a sinlge at the time. It's a bloody good catchy tune.

  • @BuddyFantastic If i master an instrument once i finish conscription service, I'll form a band and cover it. Then upload the vid ;)

  • it was a piss take on the ska movement

    great tune

  • "sounds like madness" - it was first that I think when I hear it. Fantastic! I love it wery much! :D

  • check the dude out on the trampoline

  • :) good

  • does he actually say "you should really try to shit and bounce it's really quite a laugh!"

  • Certainly does, well "you wanna try and shit and bounce..." but near enough :D

  • very funny :P:D

  • sounds like madness

  • classic british comedy at its best

  • Who is this parodying -- Madness?

  • English Beat, Madness, mostly the early ska music artists.

  • Don't forget the Selector!

  • No The Specials !

  • ye. i think of ska music as a whole

  • Either that or The Specials - but needless to say, this parody is about the Ska wave at that very time

  • LOL can't believe this is on here!! Me and the other half were just chatting about this yesterday and I thought, " I wonder if its on YouTube....? "{ And here it is!! LOL cheers for posring, cracked me up for a good half hour, BOUNCE!!

  • my thoughts exactly

  • I bet it was so close Rowan cracked up at '...judging by the way your balls are bouncing', you can see the corners of his mouth go up for just a second - and I don't blame him! :D this is the best stuff ever and he truly is the greatest.

  • yeah yo'ure right !! xd never noticed it xd

it's the same with the lot of willy's clip he also smiles a bit

  • I'm 14 and i watch this on comedy central 2 (formally known as paramount comedy 2) and it still never gets old

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • YAY! Finally a better copy of it! This was THE funniest show EVER, and Rowan Atkinson is a God!! =o) Thanks for uploading!

  • ha ha great! surreal ending... too!

  • I love this song. Man it takes me back.

  • This song is genius!

  • a british masterpiece

  • This is so good

  • He he ...Specials/Madness P*ss Take

  • but you wanna try and shit and bounce its really quite a laugh lol

  • ha ha. this is the best song they created for this brill series. ha ha. wonder how much of all this they would get away with now. sadly missed comedy show!!!!!!

  • is he spoofing madness?

  • them and the ska scene in general I think. They did a similar thing with the new romantics and "nice video, shame about the song"

  • hahah yeah i've seen that video. I haven't seen the original though.

  • nah I don't think there's an original, it's parodying the new romantic movement rather than any one group

  • this reminds me more of the specials than madness

  • This band is called SOX. They were a superb jazz-funk reggae mix band playing in the late 70s early 80s . I used to see them regularly at the golden lion in Fulham. Lead guitar was Gordon Hunt. When they disbanded it was a sad loss. Their set was very strong and Gordon could tell a joke and really hold an audience. The bass player was also superb, as were the rest of the band. Sadly, I cannot find any recordings other than this

  • who were the, bassist, drummer and saxophonist?

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant!! xD I just keep laughing everytime I hear it

  • I didn't know Rowan could sing with some different accent!

What kind of accent is that, is it Cockney?

  • It is cockney, but he`s from newcastle

  • I got it, he's PERFORMING a Cockney accent.

  • I wish they had this on TV today : ( Im only 15 but i think NTNON is brilliant! They should have comedy like this on today : ) Comedy today tends to be alot more crude, which is a shame for me, i always have to be mindful of my parents. Anyway, love NTNON x xx x

  • i just watched this on paramount comedy 2, had to hear the song again its so catchy! lol

  • genious!

is anyone on the stage actually playing instruments anyway?

  • I should have asked for the set for Xmas. Oh well I asked for the Avengers instead so it's not a total loss :)

  • Love it Tis Fantastic

  • Does anyone know where I can get the soundtrack to this?

  • @01powellj I bought the Not The Nine O'Clock News LP (the black self titled one, not Hedgehog Sandwich or The Memory Kinda Lingers) on ebay for only 5€. The Song is on this album. The only kind of annoying thing is the laughing track, which doesn't bother me that much when I see it than when I only listen to it.

  • Class! Heard this originally at the tender age of ehhh what, 14? Parody maybe, but music to pogo around the room to.

    Ooooooone steeeeep beeyoooooooond!!!

  • Is this a Specials parody?

  • haha, bloody brilliant, anyone know if theres like a dvd box set or something?

  • yeh i got it

got it for about 50 dollars in australia

    it is so funny

  • Why can't they give out this whole serie on DVD. I'd buy it, almost regardless of price.

  • My thought exactly!

  • I want it very badly! I'd give my life!

...but then I couldn't watch it much....

  • Its a pretty good sounding foot stomper. If the vocals were more serious it could be easily passed of as a Ska classic.

    The words are hilairious to.

  • lmaoo i was watching my dvd of this the other day and this clip came on and my mum was in the kitchen singing to it lmaoo !!!

  • omg i keep on watching this on repeat!

    Rowan is HILARIOUS!

  • The team should reform and do "N

  • thank you...!

  • If the whole series was on DVD, I'd buy it regardless of its region.

  • I have it on DVD. It's one of the greatest ever.

  • This is catchy, it's hilarious, and I have to think that they're mocking The English Beat.

  • No, no, mate. They are mocking british ska music. Bands like the Specials and Madness often had beats that you couldn't really dance to, so you just had to bounce up and down in time with the music (plus, the band was up there, bouncing in time with the music as well). It used to be fun to go to a club in the 80's playing ska music, watching people's heads appear over the crowd, disappear, and then reappear again half a second later.

  • Exactly! I just kept thinking of Dave Wakeling and Saxa doin' their thing when I saw this.

  • Well, the Beat (or the English Beat to you I guess) are a ska band, they started on the 2-Tone label with the Specials and Madness.

  • I wish they still aired this show it was really funny.

  • And when it really counts, turn into a rubber ball and bounce, bounce, bounce.

  • I love Rowan Atkinson. Rowan is so good at singing and I love this song!

  • lol boing

  • Hilarious and groove filled song.

  • I like this song a lot. I LIKE BOUNCING, BOING, BOING, BOING!

'Boing' is a funny word. :P

  • Wonderful! =)

  • lol u really wanna try shit and bounce, its really quite a laugh, these guys are brilliant
