@solidshots23 just take the coach apart, drill out the holes for 1.5mm lamps (or diodes if you prefer) and place a 2AA battery pack in the coach somewhere. or you can run electrical pickups to the wheels
I'm trying to make a Coast Starlight too up here in Salinas. I'm gonna try to take some video next time I get the chance to head to the club. Between me and another member, we almost have the complete train.
Well done. You guys did your homework with the Amtrak train. Those two dome cars, one before the diner and the other behind it was protypically correct. The views were done with a steady hand rather than being all over the place.
Thank you. We do our best to keep things as prototypical as possible. And by dome cars i assume you mean the lounges. Unfortunately it isn't quite prototypical of any amtrak consist to be like this one but its close to a Coast Starlight if I made the first lounge a Pacific Parlor car, but before 2001, they ran the Starlight the way shown in the video.
I meant the parlor car. Have taken the Coast Starlight round trip from Seattle to L.A. 4 times since moving up here after 9/11. The Coast Starlight usually has 1 head end car, 3 sleepers, Parlor Car, Diner, Parlor Car, 3 or 4 coach cars with the end coach for smokers. Hope to visit your layout next time I visit L.A.
This is correct except that they no longer offer the smoking cars on the last coach. And im sure we'd love to give you a layout tour so let us know (send me a message) next time you'll be in town
@solidshots23 i did a bit of custom work on it that included putting those lights on it.
