Whenever I hear the last movement of Mahler's 3rd Symphony I remember that giant prehistoric handcraft head breaking into pieces, which were meant to represent the Greek isles laying on the Aegean sea. Just memorable.
Best ceremony ever! Thanks for uploading this version, its so much better than the NBC version which the direction is not as cinematic as this one! Love to see more!
A masterpiece in time forms and space. A reliquary to all that that is conceived by the man in the need to support his your evolutionary order and his your instinct for protecting his your identity.
Congratulations to the creators of this work and a deep gratefulness to that one who shared it in this form and way.

@ElysiumNZ Yes, I hate when they say that the rocks are the greek islands... many minutes before the rocks touch the water.

@paplomatothiki Την ομορφότερη εικόνα στην Ιστορία των σύγχρονων Ολυμπιακών. Ο χρόνος σταμάτησε για αυτά τα λίγα δευτερόλεπτα.

It's like a living, breathing painting done by René Magritte (the Surrealist). Magnificent!

I woke up with this marble head in my hands;
it exhausts my elbows and I don't know where to put it down.
It was falling into the dream as I was coming out of the dream
so our life became one and it will be very difficult for it to separate again."

@eldent27 If (and that's a big if..) is still alive today, it's because it stands on the shoulders of giants,like Seferis.
