@d1v4dPwnz Well, we found out she likes it by accident. She didn't like anything at the time and someone offered her their glass thinking she'd just sniff and go on but she grabbed hold and started chugging the champagne and it took 2 of us to pry her loose, lol.
There's not much alcohol in champagne really but I wouldn't give her more than a thimble or shot glass full and only rarely.
They eat fruit in the wild and likely eat some fermented fruits like other animals so it's not unnatural.
i didn't think they would have the enzyme to degrade alcohol, that usually is only for animals with a component of fruit in diet...although anteaters probably take advantage of some fruit if they found it in the wild
No. Just the one New Years she was offered the glass of Champagne and grabbed hold and she chugged some till a couple of us could pry her loose but she just ran around hyper.
She gets a few as treats but the diet is a mix of beef and other things important to health. Took work to get it right. See the FAQ link in video description.
right now I am working my way up. Gonna go through some other species of small mammals before I get myself a Tamandua : they are hard to maintain and requite a lot of experience
Yes they are adorable. I did years of research before getting one and had experience with other exotics. Was so hard to find good info then. Still had more to learn once she got here.
The drink or the anteater? She's just 17 pounds it's a miniature champagne glass. I have a small collection of mini wine glasses, mugs and cups for her.
i couldn't have a new year's drink coz i was on strong antibiotic's! she's beautiful and i thought i'd had some strange pet's she look's like antibus from kingdom hospital LOL!
