Good luck with the 3rd!! I have a 7 month old girl and would LOVE to try for another NOW, but have to wait the 12 months because I was blessed with a caesarean first time :/ Love to know which part of Melb you are in... I'm in Northern suburbs (Craigieburn) Have a question: how do you plan to raise your kids as far as faith goes? What are your principles etc? I have a strong faith, but my husband and his family do not and the environment is not faith centred at all... any advice?? Thanks. Clare
My daughter wants to sit on the potty. Goes and sits on it does nothing. Will tell me when she poops or when she pees in her diaper(nappy). I tried underwear but she still didn't get it. I take her to the potty to sit when I go. What do you think I should do to get my almost 16 month old to tell me BEFORE she goes?
@collaredslaveja Put her in undies. Felicity really didn't get to tell me BEFORE she had to go until she wore undies for 2 days and was weeing down her legs, lol. I found if she wore undies and tracksuit pants (thick winter pants) it caught most of the wee before getting to her shoes :) She never did a full wee, I would just say "oh look, you are wet, lets take you to the toilet and do wees" then i would calmly take her, explain she was wet and get her to choose her dry undies
@TheGraceDiaries Thanks for your reply! I did try the undies for a week. She went pee in them every time. Then she started getting freaked out when she peed. She would just pee and start crying. Got anything else?
How did u potty train her??? My kids are the same age as yours. My oldest was potty trained at 2 1/2. My youngest sits on the potty sometimes but had never done anything.
@queeenpammie I didn't...she did it herself. She has always sat on the potty or toilet from birth (with breaks here and there) and she just started telling me when she needed to go so I just took a risk and put her in undies one day and we haven't looked back since. It is definitely harder with her in undies coz she can't hold her bladder for very long but I could not ignore her telling me she wanted to use the toilet and she LOVED wearing undies so much more than the bulky nappies.
@jmanifol Yes I did. I make portacot/pack-n-play ones and cot/crib/toddler bed sized ones. They are SO SO easy to make. I will find a tutorial online and message it to you.
Gawd, I'm jealous. My son is 2 and 9 months and shows noooooo interest in potty training. Changing poo nappies is a major interruption to his day (in his mind). I talk about it, show him the potty etc. but he is just not interested. We are going to NZ for the month of Feb and will be mostly at his grandparents but will do a 2 week road trip, so will have to be in disposables and I just don't foresee being able to potty train him till we at least get back.....
wow! thats awesome. umm potty training questions...i just dont know where to start. we had the potty out in the lounge and tried to sit our son on (just turned 17 months) the potty, but he didnt want to sit on it. i try to distract him with a book etc, but then as soon as he remembers hes on the potty he wants to get off...hmm just a general guide on what you do would be awesome..sorry so long haha thanks :)
I want as much advice u can give on potty training! Lol my daughter just turned 20 months and my goal is by her 2nd bday. Where do I start? I did buy her a potty and a seat that goes on the potty as well.
My daughter is 2 & 4months n still in nappies she will wear her nickers over her nappy but won't sit on the potty or toilet. I've noticed the last couple of mornings her nappy isn't as full as it used to b,once she has done a pooh she will tell me but not wees. cuz it's summer I really wanna try but she won't help me :-(
This to us is amazing. My little girl is 3 next month and she is still in nappies, but she will do a poo on the potty but not wee. I thought this week we might have had a breakthrough but no. I also have an 8 month old boy, I did not expect to have 2 in nappies for so long. x
Felicity is AMAZING!!! I KNEW she would be trained well before age 2 when you said how interested she was in the potty! 19 months....WOW! I had my first daughter trained at 22 months and I thought THAT was good! So nice for you now that "Baby Boy' is ......ALMOST HERE!!
How did you 'teach' her to be toilet trained at this age? I'd say it's a rare feat for a baby at 19 months to be doing so well. Well done to you both. :)
@TheGraceDiaries well, yes that too :) she is amazing, both your girls are, but i think you are too! If i ever get to be a mum i hope i can be just like you! Can not wait to see your little boy! its going to be so cute to see a baby boy in your house! :)
I live in Adelaide and love hearing about your stories from Melbourne, i feel like i can connect more with Aussie's on here, not that i don't love the girls for OS too :)
woo hoo, 1st viewer and 1st comment :o) the girls are growing up so fast and it's so good to hear about Flick being toilet trained already...awesome job :o)

@twompers01 Yeh, I am stoked and so is she. She was so happy when she started wearing undies and was so proud of herself to be like her sister.

@ItsJustTonie Well, i didn't really 'teach' her, she was just ready. She has been familiar with the potty since birth.
