X-items were actually somewhat useful in Black/White since this generation is harder than the earlier ones. They still weren't used that often, but I didn't sell them like I'd use to.

They shine in Wonder Launcher battles, though. It's a shame that people never talk about battling with that option turned on. It adds a whole new layer of strategy to fights.

Then again, considering how the rotation format is the only format outside of singles that I think I've seen gain a lot of popularity...

Bounce + Flail + High Speed and decent defense = pretty easy run. Just use a few X attacks and anything dies so long as you have a good High Attack/HP EV spread.

Chikorita only learns Poison Powder, in compare to Bulbasaur, who can learn all those Powder moves. Lackluster, but at least Chikorita learns the Dual Screens and gets Synthesis really early, which is game-breaking early on. I actually used Chikorita in a recent HeartGold run and my god. At level 15, that thing will tank the hell out of the first Gym. ._.

I still say that a Magikarp only run is impossible. In order to progress in the game, they made it mandatory for your Pokemon to use HMs and last time I checked, Magikarp can't learn ether HMs or TMs.

@StubzTurner Stupid only runs like Pidgey only run, Magikarp run, etc. allow you to catch other pokemon purely for HM slaves. We know it's impossible since these pokemon can't learn HM's, so there is a little rule bending just so you can actually, ya know, do it.
