No mate, it was in 2002 before I started to film properly. It was a Plaxton bodied 02 London General Dennis Trident, I wish I had filmed it :-(. Got some more of engines switching on which I sandwich between clips every so often anyway.
Surley it Should be on unless your talking of the Ignition Switch which i only just found out were it was on the dashboard and persumerbally is in the same postion with most other Dennis Models! , I think i could sucsessfuly start a Dart! Gear : N , Igniton , *BEEP* Engine Start! , On another note once i got on a Scania Ominidekka , when the driver switched on the Engine the Wheelchair ramp sounded :S
Yep, on SLF Darts the ignition switch is on the middle of the dash board, I had the honor of switching on the ignition on a Brand new trident once, all warning lights and buzzers flashed up. 'WOW!'. On the older step Darts the ignition switch is to the side near the handbreak lever.
Not an expert on this but I think the beep usually comes on when the master switch is activated and the lights show on the dash board, the beep also comes on when the bus needs more air/fault as on one of hamsters video's or a loose connection with wiring and stuff.
It even makesd that knocking/booming noise when the driver brakes hard, unfortunately didn't film enough of it in those days. Now I would make sure I got the booming like yours. I still have yet to find a good classic clip such as yours but you may have noticed I am now really going through Dart rides somewhat!
Yes most Darts seem to do this, have got more of Darts switching on which could appear on here, if you wait till the end of the clip on Y36TDA you will hear the driver switch on the engine too. May add Stagecoach Devon Dart R804YUD starting up before too long.
this bus made a comeback to Shrewsbury last month, Arriva can't seem to make there mind up about which buses to have where!

All Good! Yea i saw that on the Y reg you took the engine seems to be very healthy , maybe thats why there isnt a beep?
