I used to be a mac hater until I was forced to familiarize mysef with them for my computer graphics class. The only differences that actually make a big diference is layout of things and the absence of DOS (I know there is something that is similar but I haven't had the need to locate it). Yet I still prefer PC because I spent all my 15 years using them so I can immediately fix a problem if one arises. Enough rambling, my point is that Macs aren't bad like PC fans tend to make them appear.

Vista is just flashier with its chrome graphic touch to everything. However there is very little difference between Vista and XP otherwise and XP even outdid Vista slightly when running basic functions like Disk Defragmenter (though I believe that MS has created updates to fix that since then).

Then you must not have much experience with Macs. They are a little different than PCs, which is probably why you're saying that they suck. Personally, I prefer them for their simplicity and their immunity to computer viruses.

Of course, if you like Vista more than OSX, that's fine. There is more software that you can use on a PC, but as I said, I prefer a Macintosh.
