Well, I am democratic anyhow; Ron Paul is anti-universal healthcare, anti-gay rights, anti-abortion, believes in loose definition of separation of Church and State, anti-environment. He's only good on foreign policy and the whole federal reserve thing-dems have that too.
(1) "Ron Paul is anti-universal healthcare" - Yes he is and it will be a massive improvement. With a free market health care you can have much more competition which will lower prices, just think of the rapidly decreasing prices of the technology market due to competition. Also it improves the doctor-patient relationship and the government not interfering and telling you which drugs you should have and which you shouldn't!
(2) "anti-gay rights" - Well obviously you haven't seen Dr. Paul's stance on these issues. He believes in equal rights for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or anything else. We don't get our rights because we belong to a group or a minority, we get our rights from our creator as individuals and therefore every individual should be treated the same way. Please correct your statement.
(3) "Anti-abortion" - Dr. Paul also strongly believes that the protection of life begins at conception and should be protected. Well it doesn't make sense to have an abortion in your 3rd trimester, which can be done now - What's the difference between a baby 5mins before it's born and 5 mins after? Anyway Dr. Paul would live abortion issues up to the states, and not give a one law fits all in Washington. That's democracy!

Who are you to judge what the "enemy" will or will not do? Did you, Oh Great One, predict 9/11?
Do you like pretending that Muslim Fundies hate our "Freedoms and Liberties" (or what is left of them). If you do not understand the enemy... you have no right to speak of them.
Stop victimizing yourself. We reap what we sow.

I am using the words of the ENEMY, not my own ideas. Just like Hitler did in Mein Kamphf, the ENEMY is telling us what their objectives are. If Rep. Paul is a serious candidate for the presidency, he will discuss the ENEMY objectives openly and completely and then propose what the US policy should be against this ENEMY.

In that way he will gain the attention and credibility necessary to solve this problem for the United States and other western Nations. I was as surprised by 9-11 just like most of the country, but I know if the US retreats into Fortress America, that the ENEMY will be encouraged and will continue the attack.

But why did they attack? They are humans and they can think too. They have reasons: they associate America with colonial meddlers and Israel supporters. How would you feel if China officially started colonizing America tomorrow. We do it to the Middle Easterners for their oil.
It isn't just because they think we are infidels. Heck, if you are any type of Christian or Muslim, you would think I'M an infidel.

Ron Paul's message is that if we stop colonizing in the Middle East, would not be inviting foreign hatred toward us.
9/11 had reasons, and you would only understand them if you read about the history of the region and our policies.

I think what people need to understand is if you select a pro war candidate, you are now saying "ok the republican party is now representing 20-25% of the population". This is almost a set up for the democrats to win and usher in a new era of socialism under the guise of national healthcare.

Obviously the Republican Nominee for president will be the one that believes that the enemy is real and still on the attack, and that the USA needs to be on the strategic offensive against that enemy and do much more for domestic security. The country will have a real choice in Nov '08. God Bless America.

From wikipedia: Paul believes in a strong national defense and voted for the attack on Afghanistan in 2001, but suggested alternatives including giving the President authority to grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, which would allow war to be carried out against individuals rather than foreign countries and allow local bounty hunters familiar with the Afghanistani terrain to be hired to capture Osama bin Laden and his co-conspirators.

There is a great division in the country. It may be that it will take another 20 or so years to develop a unified view about how to proceed against this enemy. Perhaps the Democrats will take the reins for 8 years and then Republicans for 8 years and then the Democrats for 8 years.

Hopefully by that time we will understand the enemy, thier goals and objectives and have a national concensus about what policies the US must have as a reaction. In the meantime the arguments of both sides will find a voice and many mistakes will be made and different approaches will be tried. The risk for the US is that the emeny is united, motivated, and at the moment on the march and winning. God Bless the USA.

Giuliani is no good. he has hired a bunch of Rove understudies, and he also has hired the people behind that "swift-boat veterans for truth" bullshit from '04, in order to bash hillary. He is simply going to try and appeal to the lame, big-business, big-spending, "america is never wrong" nonsense that dominates the status quo republican worldview.
