  • spoons are great for redfish.A gold Johnson spoon is a killer

    RD

  • Dave, can redfish be caught on lures such as crankbaits. I also heard you mention "breakline",,a word coined by the late Buck Perry. I am a Spoonplugger myself and would think that these Redfish would smack a Spoonplug being trolled! When one says Freshwater Red, are these fish coming in from salt to fresh or are they like a fresh water striper that can actually stay in freshwater throughout its entire life? Thanks

  • very nice red, but that fish didnt weigh an ounce over 40. you should have weighed it.

  • i Always catch Them That big In Freeport Tx n Shark But Nice Catch

  • I catch all my fish on a soft lure with a little spoon and some lunker sauce

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

huge bull red fsh.today say one about that big and it really surprsed me how big a redfish can get.

  • In Texas they stock them in some of the lakes.

I have seen a big one in lake farefield

  • yeah but in Lakes They Cant reproduce good Enough

  • Refish can go either saltwater or freshwater.... but most of the time they are back in a saltwater lake up a freshwater ditch not to far from saltwater

  • My uncle took us out in the Jeties, we had 2 rods out that were ment for salt water, and my dad brought our bass rods, he's never really went salt water fishing, i hooked a

40lb 4oz red, berkley biggame line, 15 lb test, ona Garcia 5000 , dont remember the rod but it was one of our bass rods. Took me 15 mins to land it

  • red fish in fresh water while bass fishing are there really reds in fresh water?????????? plz reply

  • brackish water/ Sabine RIVER is fresh, it flows into the lake, lake to jetties to the Gulf...tides come in, tides go out, mix of both waters...= brachish

Yep...redfish on Sabine is kick butt

    RD

  • @aadizzle212 Both redfish, striped bass, and snook can all live in freshwater. In florida there are places where snook, redfish, tarpon, and striped bass travel up rivers to get into brackish waters where they can make their way into freshwater lakes :)

They love the shad, shiners, bluegill, and everything else in those lakes

  • We actually went fishing today at my buddy's 700 acres in Creole, LA. Mostly marsh and it borders the gulf. We catch them around that size every weekend. I caught a nice 25-30lbs blue catfish that caught me totally by surprise out of the same channel we caught the reds in. I got royally sunburnt but it was a fun day.

  • i love fishing sabine.. Until the hurricane took out my favorite bait shop at the causeway... I caught actaully a few of 26"-28" Reds there... The secret is where and when! lol...(Sorry people I'm not telling!) Oh yeah to answer your question "vang" Reds fight better than Stripers.. (I use sometimes 10-12lbs f-carbon lines.. & med. rods.. makes it even more challenging when you get a big one..

  • Great video - thanks!

  • Nicely done, beautiful fish.

  • About the same really, both are huge head shakers at this size. This Redfish was my biggest on the lake...have had big fish on the jetties but not on the lake...thought I had a World Record but IGFA said Sabine was brackish so I lost out...but for a few days we thought I had shattered the record

    Tight Lines

  • wow big fish that is!!! does these red fish fight harder than stripers???
