Hi! umm... well i have recently been thinking about going to japan to teach english and i was wondering if maybe you have any advice or really anything. I would also like to translate would that be possible with the hours? or would it depend on where and who i teach?
Fantastic video! I come from a drama background so I really appreciated it the use of dramatic expressions and puppetry. I am going over to Japan soon and I really appreciate tehe tips! :-)
A member of the Tsutenkaku Project from Boston, Massachusetts really wants to become naturalized and teach English in Japan. He wants to teach High school, and, honestly, nobody has been really informational. Even though you deal with younger kids, do you have any tips for him? (Referencing Wariteru-chan)
Isn't not knowing Japanese a problem? I imagine some students might say something YOU don't understand. How do you deal with that? what about indiscipline?
Great puppet! We do similar activities and the kids LOVE when the puppet says, "Yuck! I don't like apples" and they start using it right away. Love your advice here.
I just started teaching kindergarten and elementary level kids here in Taiwan. What kinds of classroom managements or punishments do you use? Suggestions you may have?
Are you teaching part time or full time? As in are you the main teacher or just there occasionaly because that will make a very big difference in how you can manage the class. You also have to factor in cultural differences becasue there are some things I can do in japan that I cannot do in Canada and vice versa.
Ok... this will need a video response. Give me a few days to get one together and you will get to hear what I have to say on the subject. Just what is bohsiban?
Bohsiban is a language school. After they get off from their public schools. They attend a language schools to learn more English, Chinese, math or other subjects. Oh, I usually see them once or twice a week and I'm trying my best to keep the classes or materials fresh and interesting. Their Chinese teachers tries to help, but they have their hands full. Anyway what every you can offer will be greatfully accepted.
I'll bet the kids love the puppet. You must be a very good children's teacher. I had a bunch of kids run up to me the other day who starting shouting, apple, pepper, carrot! eheh I started shouting back, ringo, peaman, ninjin! :)) It sounds kind of annoying right, but actually we had a bit of fun with it.
