No, that really is her stomach. I read in like 7 different sources that she was really pregnant during this season. They kind of had to write it in because they didn't really know and the show found out like a few months in. That's why if you watch the season she ends up having the baby after like 6 months of finding out on the show. The pictures at the end of the episode are her holding her real son. Great Job Laurie!!!!

That is NOT a fake belly, lmao. Did you see the horrid job they did making Crystal's fake belly? Laurie Metcalf was really pregnant, but she didn't give birth on the show (obviously). The pictures at the end were really her son, which she had with the guy who played Fisher, her husband in real life.

Yeah, Laurie Metcalf won her third emmy in a row with this episode, along with the equally brillaint "Past imperfect."  Watch that one next, and you can see why she won... Her comedic timing was incredible. This is my favorite labor episode of all time from any sitcom.

Yeah, it's true. Laurie Metcalf said that on the Roseanne talk show. Her water really broke while she was filming that episode. Roseanne not only pointed out Laurie Metcalf's water breaking, but she also pointed out Sara Gilbert's menstruation that happened in Season 1.
