As a Chinese person who was born in a former British colony (Hong Kong), I'm always saddened when reminded of how Britain so abused the people in the "foreign" lands it once owned. Even today, the roots of racism are still alive; many are just concealing it. Under the guise of humour, or unabashed ignorance, stereotypes are still perpetuated of non-white people in white-dominant countries. Let's hope eloquent responses like these help change the tide. India acccounted for 22% of the worlds wealth before the English came, i.e. in 1700s, but when they left, it didnt even amount to 2%.
