• I actually think it's Torna a Surriento, the one on this video. I have two of her CDs. Her name is Natalia, she only speaks Italian and Russian I believe so... you have to speak Italian if you want to talk to her. I only think so though. Her full name is Natalia Lopushanskaya, I also have a friend who knows her and is a singer as well.

  • Natalia is amazing :)

  • she has such a beautiful voice...we heard them august 2007, at the same spot....

    miraculous....

  • piazza della republica!!!!

gorgeous, i listened to her almost every night while i was studying there!

  • oh my dream! to go to Florence! When I go, certainly I will listen to her singing! =)

    What a amazing voice!

  • God just listening to her sing anything makes me feel every little emotion possible...She is amazing truly and honestly.

  • The past two years, I've been traveling to Florence for a few weeks in the winter. We would go and listen to Natalia every single night we were there.

It just occurred to me for the first time to look her up on youtube and see if anyone took a video... and I'm so glad I did. I'm tearing up from watching her. I'm so happy to know that others have shared this wonderful experience with me.

Thank you so much for posting this.

  • j'ai eu la chance de pouvoir écouter Natalia à Florence un dimanche d'aout à Firenze. Je lui ai acheté un disque : on l'écoute en boucle. Si qqun connait unmoyen de se procurer ses qutres disques, faites m'en part

  • I was walking in Florence and Natalias voice just mezmorised me..this woman has the voice of an angel...and the amazing thing is that she is soo humble..when I told her her voice was beautiful..she was like..no..you think so? what is this woman doing on the streets and what britney spears doing on stage?

  • Her voice is like an angel. If you are still in Florence and happen to see her, can you find out how to purchase her CDs. It would be extremely appreciated.

    grazie

  • I actually do have her CD if you want I can try to send you the songs

  • We saw Natalia last September. She was singing Ave Maria and it brought tears to my eyes. I wish I had heard her sing this song also. Her voice is simply wonderful. Such a talent!

  • i think you record this film in the same day i was recording mine...i was leave in florence i sow her singing so many times she have a underfull voice...

  • We have tried the e-mail address on the CD we purchased from Natalia and Anatoliy in July but there is no such address and the message keeps bouncing back. Has anyone been able to reach them? We are looking for their DUO CD. Does anyone have this one?

    thanks

  • I don't have it atm, however, I can contact the sister of Anatoly as she has messaged me on YouTube regarding these vids. I can find out the email address for you.

  • can you provide an email so I can purchase her CDs?

    joliettraveler

  • We also tried, without success, to contact Natalia and Anatoliy via the email address on their Firenze Sogna CD. We enjoyed their performances so much--we saw them perform several different times during our stay in Florence--that we would like to buy some additional CDs to share with our family and friends. Could you also send us their updated email address? Thank you!

  • My wife and I were just married in Florence. We stumbled upon Natalya, as well, and asked her to sing at our wedding dinner in a small trattoria. She agreed, to our surprise, and all I can say is that is was truly magical. We will never, ever forget how much more special she made our wedding trip! Friends and family were all in tears at the sound of her voice in such a lovely, intimate setting. Thank you so much Natalya and Anatoly!

  • Very sweet. (Hope you dropped some money in their cup. Musicians have to eat.)

  • They are even more impressive in real life. I saw this same couple a few weeks ago and have regretted not picking up their cd. Does anyone have their names or a website?

  • Yeh I regret not writing her name down too! I went over to look at the cd and what her name was, but I forgot her name soon after as I didn't write it down. Damn... If anyone knows I'd also appreciate it.

  • I found a woman who bought a CD from a singer in Florence that sounds like this opera singer. She copied down the info from the CD. Natalia responded to my email but I need to get it translated.

    Anatoliy Grischuk and Natalia Lopushanskaya

    "Firenze Sogna"

The CD also has this contact info on it.

    email: tolikkiev(at)rambler. ru

    tel Italia (+39)3208211830

    tel Ukraina (+38)044.4057611

  • Thank you SOOO much for providing us this information!! Now I remember, her name is Natalia & that was the name of the cd she was selling that night. Thank you again! :)

  • I lived in Florence for 6 months and almost every night, there would be someone singing in a piazza. Kazzart do you have a video of the guitar gentleman that always played in the Uffizi gallery & Piazza Signoria?

  • That was lovely. Thank you for sharing.

  • WOW! Beautiful!

  • hmm...i really like this aria also! unfortunately, i can't identify this one for 'ya :-(

is it from turandot? very dramatic stuff...

  • This is just an old song "Torna a Surriento",in english " Come back to Sorrento", Sorrento is a little town near Naples.

  • Thanks!!! So its not an aria from an opera or anything like that?

  • It may seem strange to many, but this song is dedicated to a man.

Here are the facts: In September of 1902, the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Zanardelli made an official visit to Sorrento.

In those times the conditions of Sorrento were catastrophic.

To encourage the Prime Minister to do something as soon as possible, the De Curtises(Giambattista and Ernesto) dedicated this song to him.

They were urging him to return and enjoy the beauty of Sorrento after the hopefully coming reconstruction.

  • Wow, that's very cool. One day I'd like to go there and check it out.

  • Yes do! It is definitely a city worth visiting. I'm in love with the place. :) Just avoid the July/August period - too many tourists kinda spoils the beauty a bit.

  • So what you're REALLY saying is that there are too many Americans in Florence at that time, huh?

  • How romantic Kazzart. Thanks for sharing

  • Yes it was very romantic. And my pleasure.. glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • i dunno if the last comment actually got posted so ill apoligise 4 double posting in advance, sry : wow, y dont we get buskers like that in london?

  • Lol its ok :)

  • wow, y dont we get buskers like that in london?

  • I know!!! Florence is amazing.. they are so lucky to live in such a beautiful and artistic city.. *sigh*

  • I saw this couple in October. She performed every night. The performance I should have taped was Bocelli's time to say goodbye, everyone was singing along. Does anyone have it on tape?
