  • Video should be called 'Montreal car hit by a bike messenger'

I'm a biker but these guys are idiots.

  • At least with her saying sorry shes admiting liablity

  • The tension builds... until he gets hit at 2:10

  • none the less its still dick that the new york ass holes honk at a guy that just got slammed to the ground. "you are making me a minute late i dont care you have a broken neck"

  • mary the keys are inside the up.

  • 2:08 you see how not to ride ;)

  • YES!!!!

    Hahaha :¬)

  • what a fucking idiot bike hits car more like it ! how many road rules did the biker make ? alot ! his own stupid fault ! dick head !

  • i hate bikers that don't respect us drivers! they run red light, don't stop at stop signs, and don't give the right of way to pedestrians.

  • @MrFallaceman123 It's called e-mail! So much faster and safer than hiring one of the yahoos! I'm surprised he made it as far as he did!

  • watta retard lol

  • wow bike messengers are seriously inconsiderate putting pedestrians at risk just to earn a they bob

  • Even though this was his own fault i love the SMIDSY at 2:21 hehe. Didn't realise people still say this to cyclists. Oh how i was wrong

  • @abhbsbtbjb this isnt America, this is Quebec :D lolll.... this is true but he just hit the good car :) lucky haha

  • pause at 1:03

    damn ticket car !!!

  • i also am riding pretty reckless in some peoples eyes

never the less i make sure that i can make it...that guy did not

nothing is important enough to risk killing yourself

  • very careless bike riding there.

  • Comedy. Perhaps if he'd broken his legs, he'd have been unable to get back on the bike, and it would have been "one down".

    No sympathy wwwwwww-hatsover.

All these guys with skillzzz seem curiously thick in one critical regard. Yes, those metal things moving around? See them? YES. They weigh half a ton and are impervious to impact by you and a 50 pound bike.

  • @Heritagius While I do agree with you, I have to ask this: what bike weighs 50 pounds?!

  • @Heritagius Lol 50 pound bike?

  • haha, went for the gap and failed

  • He got what he deserved. He passed the car on the right and tried to squeeze between the car and the truck. Let this be a lesson to him.

  • You shouldnt forget that you are made of meat then your ride and then meat meets metal...

  • I was hit by a car while on my bike when I lived in Seattle. Broke my jaw in 3 places, fractured my skull, and broke my neck. (my c-3). Was lucky enough to make a full recovery. And yes, I was doing a god-damned jack-assed stunt like this fool. (I'm sure he's a nice guy). Cars don't give a fuck about how much skill you have on a bike. Yeah, it was my fault, and it was this guy's fault, too.

Not to say that drivers aren't morons, though.

  • @durangobrando sorry I just got a bit lost.....was it you doing a jack-assed stunt ? Who,s fault was it ? Err still have'nt quite got it yet, so ....it was his fault too ... Oh blimey I should just walk if I were you. p.s glad you have made a full recovery, whos' ever fault it was you got a bum deal.

  • this fucking idiot gives cyclists a bad name.

you deserved to get in an accident for that retarded weaving in and out of traffic you do.

  • did he died?

  • it should be "bike messenger hit a car" That was 100% your fault!

  • why are people bringing the beef, yeah he stacked, but it was just a accident. obviously dont put people at risk by ramming pedestrians but realise these guys ride hard as they're paid by the timings they get the packages delivered.

  • Boo hoo, poor them! That makes it okay to act like a tit does it? Face it mate, this guy like a lot of his other courier brethren, is clearly just a prick.

  • Does nobody know, that bicycle messengers are often paid by the package, and so to get enough packages done in the day, just to pay the bills, they have to act recklessly sometimes to get the packages on through. Sometimes the messenger is paid for the time that it takes him to get from Point A to Point B, and if he/she doesn't reach Point B in time, they get deducted pay.

  • I don't think the maroon car caused the accident... you can see the front of that car at the moment of impact.

rider either clipped the back of the cube van or the front of the black car... either way he was trying to squeeze through a gap that was too tight and narrowing.

Driver is not wrong to appologise, though... even if she's not at all at fault, nobody wants to hit someone

  • @psteverific at 2:09 the truck stopped at the intersection while the black car was still moving up next to the truck, making the space between the two too small for the bike. Completely irresponsible yet arrogant on the bicyclist part. I'm sure the driver really enjoyed making this a part of their day.

  • @HackHunters I think we are in agreement, no? Are you saying bicyclist was at fault and arrogant?

  • @psteverific yes the bicyclist was at fault, but it was more than just an accident because the bicyclist was acting negligent by not following the laws of the road. Weaving thru traffic like that should be left for video games imo, not real life.

  • its the cyclist fault, first for riding like total maniac, and second thing for not working hard to afford a car

  • I fucking hate these arseholes. You came a cropper? Fuck ya!

  • Hahaha cyclists fault fully, don't try and predict gaps you can't.

  • time to get out the hacksaw and cut the bars down a little bit more.

  • i see at 2.11 the light was red..the driver of maroon car,,no idea,,, why she was not looking before she pulled out at a red light...something i had not seen the previous time i watched it...but bad cycling behavior is relevant.....yes the driver of the car is at fault for causing the accident,... so is the cyclist for putting himself in that kind of situation.. ask me what kind..which traffic law would you like for me to quote..

i'm a cyclist, before you go on a rampage..we have to obey laws too

  • It happened at 2:10 and was as lackluster as the rest of the video. You can add not knowing how to edit a video along with not knowing how to ride a bike.

  • normally i would defend the cyclist.. but running s red..weaving without regard to other traffic... the cyclist put himself in danger...

    i'm a cyclist...before you flame me

  • @Gr1mm1g3r Look at 2.11. It's a green light for the cyclist. Therefore, it's RED for the maroon car. The maroon car pulls out and causes the crash.

The bad behaviour of the bike messenger is not relevant.

  • It's about time. Don't you love to see these lawless riders get it in the end. karma at it's finest.

  • @kingoftyranni I see you troll similar videos too.

  • Messengers have a hard life getting little money and having to deliver fast. But lets face it, the messenger was riding dangerously. I would say that the messenger hit the vehicle, not the other way around. Glad all are OK though.

  • Juste ONE question... WHY YOU DONT PASS BY THE LEFT SIDE OF THIS FUCKING CAR ???? -_-

  • Wore a helmet?

  • from the view it kinda looks like your back tire got clipped by the black car...

  • That looked like the messenger hit the truck. Its his fault anyway. He was weaving in and out like there was no tomorrow. Just because he's on a bike doesn't mean he can ride like an asshole. But, I have been to Montreal, the people who drive cars, go back and take a driving course!!!!

  • In your face !!! ahahahaaa

  • SAVE 2 minutes of your life, skip to 2:08. Look cock sucker, your behind a panel van, then your infront of a car, you CLIP car. Messenger hits car, messenger should apologize to woman, woman should say FUCKIN CUNT you scratched my car driving like a fucking prick mother fucker! Poor lady. Glad no one was hurt, BE responsible. People in cars have an advantage, but your going to injure or kill another bicyclist or pedestrian with your speed racer antics. Lucky Gordan Ramsy wasn't in the car.

  • you stupid fuck. that'll teach you not to cut infront of cars. the driver shouldn't be sorry you fool. lucky to be alive, that's the good part.

  • in 1986 i used to BMX mail courier through Montreal's evil winter streets...lots of close calls like this one, i still have respect for these guys even when they ride crazy. stay safe guys!

  • you cut someone off and then blame them for hitting you? idiot. please post more videos of you breaking every traffic law you can and then dropping your bike like a noob.

  • your fault.

  • car hit by a montreal bike messenger

  • This is the cyclists fault, end of.

If you need this explaining or think otherwise may I suggest you do not attempt to ride a bicycle what so ever.

  • Lets see the guy on the bike is in and out of traffic, NO regards to any traffic laws, passed her on the right side to cut her off. If that Prick had hit my car, I would have gotten out and beat his faggot ass.

  • @draculascoffin Damn, you're so tough

  • To the person who suggested that perhaps the CAR WAS STRUCK BY A CYCLIST... that's hog wash. She struck him, but i will say that he got in her way. He should have went to the right side. If you're going to pass someone, make sure they know you are there. She even told the guy, "...I didn't see you..."

  • I am an experienced cyclist with 30 years riding experience. I was never taught to yield to stop signs or red lights except if there was heavy, traffic into which i would be riding. This guy is riding the same way i would in downtown traffic. He made a mistake though just before HE WAS STRUCK (or side swiped). If i was in his place, i would have rode to the right of the truck because it seems that the car on the right of the truck is (only) parked with it's lights on.

  • you dick head

  • well, if he didnt cut off the car so fast, he wouldnt have been knocked down.

  • that was his own dick head fault ,no one else

  • always remember... SHARE THE ROAD!

  • 2:47 for what?

  • teh biker didnt see the truck hit his brakes.

  • messenger's fault. weaing in and out of traffic, running a red light just before the accident... hope the guy wasn't hurt, but he caused it.

  • par de estupidos

  • more like bicyclist hits a truck!

  • I'm a cyclist too and I must admit it was the cyclist fault on this one but anyway I guess a bike messenger must be prepared to these kind of hits if he plans to ride like this in downtown traffic. I'm also pretty surprised by the reaction of the driver, she excuses herself even if she did nothing wrong, not very common when a cyclist gets hit by a car, most of the times we take a s***load of insults even while calmly pedalling on a designated cycling lane :-)

  • Where is the bike lane?

  • No bike lane on ste-cat.

  • 1- that was the idiot cyclists fault

2- your video sucks, and i would like that 2 mins of my life back pls

  • did they get hit from behind by the black car or snag the white truck as they passed it? either way, it was the cyclist's fault.

  • je pourai tu savoir ou on pourai travailler comme messager sur velo a montreal Svp =) sa ferai plaisir

  • yeah man you can't honestly argue it was the cars fault :-/

  • what an idiot... congratulations on being part of the reason why so many drivers hate bikers. if you are going to ride on the street, follow the damn rules or don't be surprised when it turns out poorly.

  • @byondspun

Definitely. There are cyclists on YouTube who film themselves cycling.. with a short temper by the way. The complain about every little shit nobody cares about and shows the driver's full license plate and even their face. And then they wonder why we hate cyclists

  • As a cyclist of over 22 years.I hope she sued you. That was terrible cycle riding.Where is your consideration of other road users?

  • Whats with Americans and sueing is tht ur main religion lol

  • The person you are replying to is from the UK and the video takes place in Canada, so why do you have to bring Americans into this?

  • Europeans are better than you. How dare you question their all knowing powers of the world and its inhabitants?

  • No, it's just our media's favorite thing to cover! lol

  • @soufeastlondon1 if you get hit by a car and break your leg im sure u want justice.. especially if u worka nd you cant work ur losing moeny because of them.. wouldnt you want money you lost?

  • @TheBum642 Yeah but still it's your fault ... Do what normal people do and get a car! LOL

  • @soufeastlondon1 the thing is bike messengers are required in NYC have you ben there? how is a company susposed to get mail or telegram to from A to B in a car? ull jsut be bumper to bumper in traffic... bike messengers can easily ride through traffic... ALSO PARKING IN NYC... its hell bike messengers can carry there bike.. its very light frame.. so they can carry it on there back... usually lighter then 30 pounds..

so haveikng a car as a messenger wouldnt be so effetive as a bike messnr

  • @soufeastlondon1 Some cant afford cars and a car in a city like NYC is usless. Bikes are so much better than cars, no gas, oil( well maybe your chain needs some lube every once in a while) cars really are impractical in NYC!

  • agreed. I've been biking all of my life and recently in the city. I dunno why people have to switch back and forth from the left side to the right. There is plenty of room between parked cars and driving cars to ride. Cutting between 2 closing cars in the middle of an intersection=stupid frenchman idea.

  • wow... that was totally the biker's fault... not every space you can enter, buddy... we know you have a much thinner vehicle than the others, but... as i said, not every space you can enter... everyone uses road, not only you, bro... :)

  • Yeah, ride your bike like an asshole. Car's have lines on the road and rules to obey. If you're going to be on the road they apply to you as well. If you aren't going to obey them then you're going to get hurt and waste a lot of someone else's time. I'm pretty sick of the total disregard for laws.

  • you should re-title this bike courier hits car.that was totally your fault and you do not deserve any sympathy,IDIOT move

  • your crazzy your going to get ran over or killed on that thing one day its like a cat with 9 lives the 9th time be the last time i find another job and ride safer

  • not that he was messenger was cycling properly here (the risk of getting pinched between that truck and car makes me kind of sick), but its not like he got off his bike and yelled at her. he explicitly says its not her fault.

  • Why is the driver apologising she did nothing wrong?! No sympathy for bicycle courier idiots.

  • asshole giving a bad image to other cyclists..

  • they ride like that all the time. major cities car drivers know bikes messengers ride likes this and every so often accidents are going to happen, at the end of the day its always the bikers fault because they aren't adhearing to the rules of the road but they know what they're doing and don't blame the car drivers so everyone should stop having ago at them.

  • he fucking shouldnt have gone :O what a tard he asked for that one...

  • Okay! Obviously this was not the fault of the car but the fault of the bike messenger. He obviously was cutting in and out of cars dangerously and while the many times previously he did it nothing happened to him, the final time he did it he got clipped. Not the fault of the van in front of him or the car behind him. He was being stupid. Look, i'm a bicyclist myself and I don't own motorised vehicles. I don't, however, ride like this. Dumb.

  • @thibaulthalpern The guy weaving in and out of cars wasn't him..? That was the guy in front of him?

  • @thibaulthalpern

Look at 2.11. It's a green light for the cyclist. Therefore, it's RED for the maroon car. The maroon car pulls out and causes the crash.

The bad behaviour of the bike messenger is not relevant.

  • @thibaulthalpern In other countries, if a car hits you its ALWAYS the cars fault. The car is a death machine that weighs over 2000 pounds. Its like a forest, the bike is a mouse, and the car is a lion trying to hunt it down.

The person driving the car is wrong, plain and simple.

  • @vict0r45454545 How was that the cars fault, the bike was going for a gap that was disappearing, should have been more patient, if a car had done the same manouver whos fault would it have been? Just cause hes on a push bike does not mean he cant be to blame.

  • @vict0r45454545 hahahaha thats funny, because he ran into the back of the van, i dunno how its the cars fault when the bike hit the back of it? explain how a car is a death machine? i always thought they were a transportation machine?

  • @thibaulthalpern you can call this guy dumb all you want but this is his job. He has to deliver the package as fast as possible that why people use bike messengers in cities its the fastest way to get stuff around. IT certainly isn't the safest profession ever and this clearly was his fault but u shouldn't call someone dumb for doing their job

  • @MrFallaceman123 hell yeah dude. i cant believe people give them all this crap when he's trying to make money. what if the messengers just showed up one day in your office and started messing up your shit?

    ignorant people these days lol

  • Shouldnt it be "montreal car hit by a bike messenger" ?

  • Such is life. If you run through enough intersections, pulling out from behind large trucks that hide you from traffic, darting out from between cars that hide you from others... PLACE EVERY DIME YOU HAVE ON THE TABLE, you are going to get hit sooner or later BEST BET IN VEGAS! I guess you have to live 40 or 50 years to understand IT'S SIMPLE MATH!

  • BIKES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a bicyclists myself. I don't own motorised transport. And no, I don't think bikes rule the roads. They share the roads with other vehicles.

  • Do you have a split personality or maybe you are joined at the hip?? " a Bicyclists"

Unless you are con-joined to a twin I think you mean Your a cyclist!! or in the less well educated parts of US maybe a bicyclist

  • hahah goood

  • the gay is idiot...he didnt have time to react while the truck stop to

  • hahahahahahaha so funny yet so true

  • I did 1 time lol with my scooter in italy roma

  • Idiot. Wasn't the cars fault. Don't know why the lady was saying sorry.

  • montreal is sick for driving.. and those guys in calgary they pretend that it it worst over there.. sorry but people drive like nuts in montreal.. they dont respect anything.. not even pedestrians

  • More like car hit by bike messenger

  • he was just asking for it...

  • I love Montreal. The food is great. The women are beautiful.

  • Yeah, I'm a cyclist, kinda looks like he didn't judge the cars speed right.. that was pretty narrow gap too.

No reason to wish for his death though, I hope he was alright.

  • having been a courier i see exactly what happened....the car behind the truck didn't signal and turned into the rider. he didn't hit the truck, the car behind the truck was changing lanes with no signals, and probably no glances inthe mirror and t-boned him as he flew by.

use your goddamn signals and mirrors.

  • I think you are right about what happened. The car driver didn't look, but if you're going to ride through traffic like this, you have to act as if you were invisible to the car drivers. Else you will end up crashing.

If you look at just before the crash, it wasn't clear what the car was going to do, you can see its braking lights going on. I would've slowed down and stayed behind the truck as a precaution.

  • rookie!

  • Smooth moove, Ex-lax.

  • It looks more like the biker hit the car, not the car's fault.

  • nah, i thought that at first, but rewinding, i don't think he/she hit the truck, but that the car behind the truck hit the rider....you can see it drifting rightward in its lane just a split second before the impact.

  • c,est pas un messagers c,est un cave qui se prend pour un courrier ca s,appelle un posinger

  • As a Montreal messenger, I think its one mistake made by a courier whereas there were 200 made by motorists at the same time in the city. Its a hard ride here...

  • moe like the bike messenger hit the car haha

  • We all make mistakes. Glad you weren't hurt or worse... The driver was cool to stop and check on you. Be safer next time. Rush or no rush, it ain't worth risking your life - the package will get there when it gets there.

  • You were the one taking all the chances. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Also, the video could have been a lot shorter instead of wasting over two minutes leading up to the event. Ride safer.

  • if your gonna shoot the gap man...full steam ahead....i saw the hesitation...yes very glad you are ok...this is a lack of experience

  • the rider is at fault on this one. you BOZO wtf did you think was gonna happen?

  • Oh I love ciclyng and I'd love to be cycling in Montreal

  • I wish I had one of these cams on me when I was hit. Glad you walked away from this.

  • you pushed it a bit too far buddy You don't get many chances with bikes. vid bit long too boring

  • yeah, I agree, you tried to get through a tight spot there. Hope you were okay though, it's amazing what you walk away from.

  • Bonjour! Y a t il un forum de courriers a vélo a montréal?

Aussi, ride-tu vitesses, SS, ou fixed?

  • wich car hit U? the maroon one?

  • is the maroon

  • Try and snap the bike down quick to take most of the impact. Take the fall and make sure your head doesn't hit the ground. Make it look serious if the driver stopps-if they take off get ready to chase.

Good capture mang. See you at CMWC?

  • Thx you for the advice. I go to the CMWC in june in toronto. Good day.
