  • muito massa maravilhoso

  • fantastic live !

  • Metallica deserved to lose to Jethro Tull...

  • Guitar player: A:) Didn't get the memo on dress code for the gig. and B:) went Vegas all over that lead till it sounded like a Breakfast Cereal jingle.

  • HAHA Ian takes a walk around the stage during the solo, hillarious!!!!

  • one of the greatest rock songs ever written

  • 17 times I had the privilege to see Tull, never heard this played the same way twice.

Martin Lancelot Barre, most underrated guitarist ever!

  • too much coke...lucky to live until today with all these doses...great performer!!

  • Best song of Jethro Tull.

  • The music stops all the time. Please fix. This! !!!!

  • Barre can take credit for the most interesting, and what I think is the best ever guitar solo OF ALL TIME, on the original Aqualung studio version. Each live version he did was also different and just as creative.

  • @389293912: Best of all times is perhaps too much. ^^ I'd say in the Top 10. ;-)

  • I find Barre's solo here more interesting than Page's in Stairway.

  • Ian Anderson really lived his music

  • this is one of the best song i've ever heard

  • keewl lil tune

  • This man has one of the most incredible voices in rock music. Even live - he sounds awesome!

  • good times:)

  • whos here because of rock band 2 ..... I am !!

  • I seen these guys in about 92 or so....down at the old coney Island park in Cincinnati Ohio...very good ..Ian Anderson is of of the best front guys I have ever seen

  • so overrated

  • Pure Epicness

  • Pure utter foooookin Genius! Brought back superb memories (Seen JT live a few times in the early 80's) The lyrics were written by Iain Anderson's ex wife and is about a tramp in London

  • A hobo petophile... creepy...

  • so in a nutshell... what is this song about?

  • @Zepp3849 a homeless man

  • @Zepp3849 Ya, it is pretty much about a homeless man, it is just a poetic styled tale of what a homeless man does in his regular routine. He is also mentioned some other songs like Cross Eyed Marry, it mentions Aqualung watching her through railings at a playground.

  • Saw them last month in melbourne, blimey they can play

  • Uma das minhas melhores bandas de cabeceira.

    Demais!!!

  • Good stuff, but typical lousy youtube synching. Voices and instrument playing and vocals are on different planets. Why do they do this? Youtube used to be so great. Gotta spend more time on Vimeo, I guess.

  • @lookinin123 well when I watch it on my mac its all perfectly in sync. must be something wrong with your set up

  • I saw them at the Phila. Spectrum somewhere around this time. It doesn't get much better than this.

  • @tomzorak I'm from Philly, but was 2 young for that.

  • what showman what a great musicman!!!!!!!

  • It's cause I can say I was at this show that makes it almost...almost....worth saying I'm fucking OLD. :-)

  • @newmusicentrepreneur

    So are THEY!!

  • @newmusicentrepreneur good music has no obsolescence !

  • Saw em a few years ago, sounded great, but Ians losing his voice with age, he could still play flute though!

  • I want some clothes like Ian's! Except for the pants! :P

  • I like the video glitch at 2:53 because it syncs to the music!

  • I saw them (again) in my hometown two years ago.. and really believe me, they were awesome (especially Ian).....

One of the abolutely greates bands ever...

  • Holy shit- the two B-A-R's, Martin Barre & Barrimore Barlow, are REALLY playing their asses off here- and I've seen a lot of Tull. Wow.

  • man. bet the whole band has had some amazing times together. wish i was around when these guys were high up.

  • Fantastico :D

  • I saw tull at colt park in the 70's, was great!!!!!!!!!

  • When Rock Was Rock....

And P Diddy was but an Ejaculation ...

A Lot Better Than That Hip Hop Shit ....

    Ya Think........

  • @TULLYNOL thats the first thing i thought when rock was rock

  • Saw them in 81' in Birmingham England! Fantastic!

  • Yeah, what has happened to singers who could sing????

  • Such a great riff.

  • vi amoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I had tickets to see this tour in Reno in '78. My wife was preganat and I had to sell them to stay with her. Never got another chance...

I still think this was the best progressive band ever. Every musicion was acclaimed, and their song style amazing. BTW waylonlover, Aqualung is about homelessness. The poor oh sod didn't have a home, watching the girls might have been the only thing he had to remind him of better days. The lyrics are brillant and touch my soul everytime I here them...

  • lmao i just really listened to the words to this its about a pervert

  • Ian Anderson is a perfect mixture of Cocker, Jager, and Einstein, in ONE man..♥

  • I LOVE THS F......ING MUSIC!!!!!!

  • WHAT A BEARD! love them!

  • Though less "forté" than the 1976 live version in my opinion, it still rocked some American socks over there :). Anyone else noticed the part at 2:54 when he spins the uni-directional instrument microphone around, causing the video camera to flip? :P

I think everybody's golden in their time. Watching them play today is hardly a shadow of what they used to be. Still, great stuff!

  • emisessions, Thank You!

  • I saw Jethro tull in 1979, man they ' re GREAT live. I' ve seen them 3 times. recently sa them in germany may 20th 2010.

  • @tye1591Awesome!! Lucky you

  • Saw these guys for the first time last night. They still rock this much!!

  • Tull were at their absolute peak here!

    Chuffin' brilliant!

  • Absolute Spitze !

  • @thejakeludwig:

    'Dog-end' = cigarette butt

  • This song has one of the most funkyest bass licks ever! Also...The lyric, "back hurting bad as he bends to pick a dog-end." Can someone please tell me what a dog-end is? I get the impression that a dog-end is a shit... Maybe I should start calling my shit a Jake-end... lol. No... that would be weird.

  • A dog end is a cigarette butt.

  • @trobertson7 I didn't know that.... learn something new everyday i guess. Thats just a awkward way to put it lol

  • The most expressive front man I have ever seen.

  • @gr8guitar69 i agree :)

  • martin barre is a badass guitar player

  • @BeBopDeluxe85

No shit!! I'm a Duane Allman fan, but Barre's solo in 'Aqualung' is my favorite of all time.

  • @peasblossom1973 id definately agree that this is one of my favorite solos ever.im a big zep fan but this is in my top 5 def....

  • @pjsbulldog67

Usually, if I want to hear a killer solo, I'll listen to the studio version, though. But, yeah......Barre's solo in this song uses notes that I've never heard before or since. It's one of those that just CAN'T be cranked up loud enough (always have to close my bedroom windows so that "Drummer Boy" next door won't freak out and call the cops and, when in the car, have to look around for sirens since I won't be hearing them). ;)

  • @BeBopDeluxe85 yea man this solo is awesome

  • Bummer! Complete concert audio but nothing we haven't seen before video wise. Amazing that they didn't actually start filming until the moment of the live UK hook-up. What price now watching the pennies all those years ago!

  • While dissapointing that the DVD does not have video footage besides the broadcast, the picture and sound quality of this release is amazing. Best released Tull video available! Stunning!

But where is the entire concert??

  • Yes. I saw this new DVD release advertised on Ebay a few days ago.

It's only available in the U.K. for now.

It has previously UNSEEN footage, including stuff like "My God", "Cross-Eyed Mary" and "One Brown Mouse."

This release is a result of the big BBC - EMI deal to open up the BBC video vaults which have been closed for YEARS.

  • It took EMI long enough to twig the amount of hits this footage was getting on Youtube. Looks like it will include unseen footage from the broadcast, though. Very exciting!

  • Awesome!

Cant wait to watch this long awaited release.
