The aim of bringing down an evil regime is nice and all, but why on earth use undisciplined arrogant rednecks only trained for combat? Friends who returned from Afghanistan tell me about militia grade American troops who pretty much panic and shoot everything that moves the moment they make contact.

@dorkf1sh If you knew anything about that, you wouldn't be so silly as to make a blame over that. They weren't allowed to do anything, had no heavy weapons, no air support, no intelligence, nothing. It's a miracle they kept the two armies Serbian and Bosnian, that quiet for that long.

That failure is part of why the Dutch approach to peacekeeping was invented to begin with. At least the Dutch military can lay claim to learning from it's mistakes.
